I am extremely disappointed with the service I've received from Total Air & Heat. I had a new 2-stage AC and Furnace installed a little over a year ago. Despite investing in a two-stage AC unit in June 2023 to address persistent humidity issues, the problem persists. Furthermore, I recently discovered significant gaps around my furnace, allowing for potential airflow issues and energy loss. There are two main sources of airflow: a large gap around the attic vent and a 2-3 inch gap around the perimeter of the furnace itself. Additionally, the area beneath the furnace where air is drawn in was filthy, indicating a lack of proper cleaning during installation. To make matters worse, I was never informed about the deplorable state of this area. These issues were discovered after the last AC service, highlighting a complete lack of attention to detail during previous visits. Initially, I questioned if these were actual problems since they were overlooked by two technicians. To gain an unbiased perspective, I contacted the city of Plano to inquire about a home inspection. Unfortunately, I was unable to follow through on this. I finally had some time today to contact Total Air & Heat. I figured they should know about these issues. When I contacted customer service about these issues, I was met with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude. It's disheartening to experience such poor service after spending a substantial amount on a new HVAC system. I strongly advise potential customers to explore other HVAC providers. read more

We have used Total Heat & Air for over 20 years and have always been well pleased with the professionalism of their service tech as well as the honest of their sales staff. Recently we had to replace the master bedroom unit due to the type refrigerant it uses as well as its age. Our salesman (Chad) was sensetive to our needs and matched us with a unit which meet our requirements at a price we could afford. Installation day was yesterday and the "crew", led my Osvaldo arrived promptly at 9 a.m. and immediately set to work after laying down protective material to protect our flooring. The installation involved fairly large pieces being maneuvered through a narrow drop down stair to the attic and he and his crew were careful of our belonging throughout the process. They worked quietly and efficiently and when finished cleaned up after themselves. Since I lack the mobility to ascend the stairs to the attic, clear and accurate photographs were taken to show me the work done and Osvaldo explained exactly where attachments had been changed from my original equipment. The outside work was also done in an efficient manner and overall the installation was completed approx 4 hours after it had begun. Great job! THANKS read more

My wife and I bought our first home in 2009 and moved in October of 2012. The whole time I owned the home, our master bedroom was 4-6 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. When we listed the house, the buyer wanted us to figure out why the master was so hot. I called Total Air to investigate and they found that I could add another vent to that room. After doing so, it completely changed our comfort level. It was such a dramatic change that we almost thought about keeping the home. When we bought our current home in October of 2012. Two months after moving the heat went out. I called Total Air and they fixed the problem the same day I called. Then, a week ago I came home to find my AC had gone out while I was at work. I called Total Air and they offered to have a service tech come that night. I asked them to come come the next morning. He arrived the next morning on time and had the AC running again within the hour. So far every employee I have met from Total Air has been a pleasure to deal with. The sales people and scheduling managers are also polite and friendly. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get quality work done by a company you can trust. read more

After one of our a/c units went out, we did some research around companies. Total Air and Heat had good reviews and a sales associate stopped by our home for a consultation. He was very helpful, informative and knowledgeable in the business and gave us the best deal compared to 2 other quotes we had received. We decided to replace both a/c units as we got a good deal with Total Air and Heat. Tino Nava was the lead installation technician and did a great job of explaining the process, answering our detailed questions and did a very professional job. He had a team of 4 and they completed the job by 6 p.m. They did a great job of cleaning up afterwards as well. We had paid a $200 to get some additional wiring done in anticipation that it would be needed for the installation of new thermostats. Tino informed us that we didn't need the additional wiring since it was already in place, he showed it to us and then deducted the price for the wiring. We appreciated his honesty and guidance he gave in operating our new thermostat. We look forward to a positive and professional relationship with Total Air and Heat! read more

I highly recommend Total Air & Heat as a air-condition repair/maintenance company. I use them every time I have an issue with my HVAC systems. My house is 20 years old and will occasionally need air conditioning repairs to stand up to the Texas heat. I have always received great service from them. I'm writing this review to commend two of their employees, Jayla and Justin. Incredible hardworking technicians that did a remarkable job replacing the main unit's cooling coil. The replacement coil was slightly different than the original in its dimensions. Both techs tagged team fashioning a new frame in the the attic. It was106 degrees outside, I can't imagine the heat in the attic. They were exceptionally polite, considerate, and personable. They kept me informed with progress updates throughout the day. You just don't see this type of service these days. Hats off to both these fine employees of Total Air & Heat. Thank you! By the way, not only does the company have great employees but their cost for service is more than reasonable. read more

Thankful this holiday season for the awesome team at Total Heat and Air. Nobody wants to replace their entire heating system the day before the whole family shows up for Thanksgiving, but when it goes, it goes. David Larson gave us a clear understanding of what work needed to be done and a very fair price (12% below the next estimate). He also worked hard to shuffle things around and get our whole system replaced before the holiday with only a few days notice, which was invaluable! Mike and Nick organized a great, professional team of men that worked for 12 hours straight to make sure the whole job got done in one day as promised even though our attic proved to be extremely challenging. They also honored our original quote despite the fact that they had to call in extra help and supplies and work overtime. I can't say enough great things about the team and the work they did. I would 100% recommend them to anyone. Professional, reliable, honest, and hard-working! read more

I have been a customer of Total Air & Heat for years and have always been pleased. Robert Reed has been my Technician since 2014 and he is the best HVAC service person I have had in any of the five homes I've owned. Between 2010 and 2014 Total Air replaced all three of my zoned systems and I would recommend them as the best in the Plano area. Last week, during the spring tune-up, Robert found a leaking coil weld joint due to an installation problem that occurred in 2014. Total Air fully covered the cost of repair and Robert re-welded the joint and replaced the needed coolant. Problems can occur with any manufactured product and considering the numerous welds that were necessary with three system installations, one leaking weld joint is not unusual. What is unusual is the honesty and professionalism that Robert and Total Air exhibited with their decisions and actions. This is who they are. No need to look any further. read more

I have been a 22 year customer with Total Air & Heat. My recent service call was absolutely outstanding. My A/C unit broke during hottest days of the year. My service technician Trent diagnosed the condenser broke. He actually apologized for the bad news but he provided me with a window a/c unit to keep me comfortable until the replacement came in. In addition, Total Air office manager, Kyli, went out of her way to help me submit the correct warranty paperwork to the manufacturer "York" to cover the part plus she kept me informed via emails & phone calls regarding the status of the replacement condenser. Both Trent & Kyli went above & beyond to help me. Within three days of my service call a new replacement condenser was installed & my a/c was backworking again. Thank you again Trent, Kyli, & Total Air & Heat. Outstanding Service! read more

I arrived home late Friday evening around 5pm 08/11 to find my house hot and Ac not operational. I called Total Air & Heat with whom I have a service agreement since 2009. A Tech was at my house by 6pm "Robert" he identified the problem as being a bad Fan Motor; but because of the late hour informed me that would have to wait until early in the next week because of parts needing to be ordered. Collin arrive on Tuesday morning 08/15 per schedule at 9am & didn't leave my premise until my Trane unit was operating & cooling per design; which even included him leaving for a short period to go to Trane in Mckinney for an additional part. I have always been treated very professionally & Courteously by all the employees of Total Air & Heat, that is why I will remain a loyal customer in the future Thank U Collin Bob Stapp read more

Came home a cpl days ago (around 6pm) and the AC Unit on the side of the house was 'screaming' like an angry, cornered cat. We have an older unit (Trane) & l thought uh-oh...that sounds 'expensive'. Called Total Air (yes, it was After Hour$) but l didnt want risk a more serious issue. After speaking w/ the dispatcher, Darwin (AC Tech) returned the call within 15 mins & said he was On His Way. Darwin was courteous, very polite & found the problem (a Capacitor that was beginning to fail; putting additional strain on the compressor). He gave me a quote on the part / labor & as quckly as he arrived, he made the replacement & we were back in business.....no screeching 'cat sounds' since. I highly recommend Total Air & if you get Darwin, l assure you, your AC will be in good hands ;) read more

Total customers for many years, Colin Lanning, has provided service to both our units on multiple visits - twice yearly maintenance checks & filter changes, as well as major installation & repair work. Colin has the most pleasant demeanor, ALWAYS, whether it's December or AUGUST. He assesses & communicates our air/heat situ efficiently, & takes immense pride in pleasing his customer, staying as long as it takes to complete the job - even if that means working late on a beautiful Friday afternoon - a rare trait in customer service these days. Total appears to maintain employee longevity successfully too. I appreciate the friendly, patient and professional assistance I receive from Total's office staff when I place service calls. I've noted this for many years. read more

If you're looking for quality and a fair price and looking for AC company that will last longer than your AC system, this company is not going anyway and will stay truly family owned, currently in there 3rd generation of family ownership! If you're getting quotes and only have time for 1, you can feel confident! If your the type that must have multiple quotes, save the best for last! read more

I have used Total Air and Heat many times in the past and went with them for a complete new system replacement including replacing all of the ducting in my home. Everyone I dealt with was prompt, courteous, and very respectful and was a pleasure to deal with. The crew was very professional and great to work with. They arrived on time, worked hard all day and completed the replacement process without any issues. The new Carrier system is whisper quiet and should reduce my bills considerably during the heat of our Texas summers. The price was reasonable, especially when you take in that my attic has a low slope forcing you to crawl around up there. Thank you to all of the people at Total I dealt with on this project! read more

This past week, we experienced difficulties with our AC. Jared Riveras visited our home, performed a careful inspection, and kindly determined that our HVAC needed replacement. A couple days later, after a free consultation to discuss pricing, Omar Duarte and his crew worked tirelessly and diligently to install a new system for us during peak summer temperatures. They were polite and professional, and Omar explained how to operate the new thermostat when the installation was complete. We now have a brand new AC that is top-notch and very effective, and we are quite pleased. We look forward to doing business with Total Air and Heat in the future! read more

Our air system was getting old, and rather than wait until it crashed in 110 degree Texas heat, we had it replaced in January. Tino led the crew that spent an entire day, working late into the night to get it finished for us as promised. He kept the crew focused, cleaned up and removed all old materials He took the time to explain the new control system and let us work it to be sure we understood. I am very happy with the new system, as I expected to be, but even happier with the professional nature of the installation crew. They rate high marks for me. We have been a Total Air and Heat customer for many years and never been let down! read more
