They were able to keep the old unit running for several more years and just yesterday I had an entire system replacement done by Dragon. Specifically, a young man named Corbin was just great. Coordinated everything, great communication, they were there when they said they would be there and kept me abreast of any time variances. After a very familiar Texas storm my downstairs air conditioning unit refused to turn on. I have always struggled with this particular unit and now wondered if after 9 years my transformer was giving out. I don't typically call on this company, however I wanted to try a different business after many years with Matco Heating and Air. Matco is decent, however getting on their schedule seemed to typically pose issues for me in the past. I came to yelp looking for a backup and potentially permanent HVAC company. I had hoped that seeing positive reviews for Dragon Air would mean an increased chance at a great experience. Dragon Air was very fast to respond and a technician quickly scheduled a time to come out to my house and assess the situation. Corbin was on time, professional, and found the issue to in fact be a failed transformer. He replaced it and I was back up and running. I rated the company 4 stars because while I was happy with the service and response time, I asked for a quote for additional work to be completed, however to this Corbin failed to follow up. It was truly disappointing because I thought this would be a great candidate company for my roster of rockstar small businesses I can count on. He explained the process every step of the way and prepared us for all possible scenarios. We ended up needing a new thermostat set up and even though he didn't have the one we needed immediately on hand, he made arrangements to get the unit brought out from another tech and came back within a few hours to finish the job. I am super pleased with my experience with Dragon Air. While a competitor of theirs started a semi-annual check-up on our HVAC equipment ( home is only 7 years old), a refrigerant line in the coil burst. They had to have someone else come out to tell me what it would cost to fix. They quoted me $5,000 to replace, but because of the government's switchover of regulated freon, they highly encouraged me to replace my whole system for about $16,500. I wanted a 2nd opinion so I called Dragon Air. They came over right away to check it out. They verified the situation. They told me it only needed a coil replacement for $3,200. They said that the freon situation was not that critical because all the units that were just installed last month under the old freon regulations still had to be warranted for the next 10 years, so the supply of the old freon was still going to be available. These guys are really honest and trustworthy. They could have just told me they could beat the other guys price for a complete system and with better equipment, and I would have gone with them. But instead, they did the right thing and watched out for the customer. I am canceling my service agreement with the old company, because I have a New HVAC company now. I have never seen a Yelp rated business with hundreds of perfect reviews, so I had to give this company a chance to win my business, which they did, with flying colors. I decided to go with Dragon AC to replace my 22 year old AC and furnace units and upgrade my duct configuration after the owner of the company (Dragan) spent about two hours at my home, analyzing the current situation and how best to fix me up going forward, within my limited budget. The install process is underway now, as I write this review, and it has already vastly exceeded my expectations after less than six hours of progress, with a crew of several (more than five, plus Dragan supervising, coordinating the operation) working efficiently and courteously toward the completion of the project. We recently used Dragon Air to replace our Evaporator Coils and Condenser. We'd gotten multiple estimates from a variety of different A/C companies. The others encouraged us to increase our unit size from 3.5 to 4 or even 5 tons. Dragon Air encouraged us to stick with the original 3.5-ton size. They said our home was set up for that size and it wouldn't be good to go with a larger ton size. When they quoted us their price it was fair and lower than the others too. They came out that same week, and quickly installed our units. The house feels great, and our electric bill has gone down some since we got the new units installed. Really, really satisfied with their professionalism and work product. When I call, they come out the same day, sometimes with an hour. The proposals are reasonable and the prices are fair. They never pressure me or try to upsell me on things like drain treatments or compressor assists. I have found them so much more responsive and trustworthy than my prior company where I was on a "VIP plan" and had to argue to get service the same week I called. Dragan and his team were simply superb and did an excellent job with my A/C replacement despite it being a complicated, multi-step process in a historic home with very tight spaces. When my upstairs A/C wasn't cooling adequately during the peak of Texas summer, Dragan came out and did some basic troubleshooting while cleaning my unit to maximize its performance. He diagnosed that my compressor had gone bad, and judging from our old inspection reports, it was likely installed that way when my house was renovated by a prior owner. The unit was only two years old but the prior contractor hadn't registered the warranty so only the part (not labor) would be free. I really appreciated that Dragan gave me multiple options and was always cost conscious with no upsell whatsoever, which I really appreciated. His estimates were clear, and he was always willing to give his opinion and answer my many questions. Having direct access to the business owner was fantastic and made this job a breeze. I decided to replace the entire system rather than throw money at fixing the existing poorly installed unit, and I'm so glad I did. I also appreciated that his estimate had line items for each part, and the parts that weren't needed (like replacing my furnace vent) were removed from the final total. You can tell Dragan is honest, well-priced, and cares about his customers. The project also required re-doing some ductwork, as the sloppy install by the prior team meant my son's room sounded like an airplane was taking off while the rest of the area supplied by that unit wouldn't get cool. Dragan made multiple trips to my house as I had walls removed, adjusted stud spacing, opened soffits, etc. in order to access the very cramped mechanical chase and ductwork that was mostly walled in by the previous contractors. He was willing to put up with my many change requests as we worked to optimize the system in what little space we had. This review is long overdue, but at the time (Summer/Fall 2022), it was a 6 week wait for any new A/C units. It took longer than that to get all the planning, demolition, and prep for wall moving completed so the space could be accessed, and I appreciated that Dragan was willing to hold a unit for me as I worked with my contractor on the details. When install day came, we were on vacation and there was no question I felt comfortable having Dragan in my home while I was away. He texted me throughout the process with status update pictures, and after the unit was in his team cleaned everything and left my home in spotless condition. He came back a few days later to test the equipment's performance, and we even continued to make some duct adjustments after the main install. By the time the project was done, my upstairs was a million times more comfortable. Looking at the equipment and ductwork, it is a night and day difference compared to the builder-grade stuff I had before. The ducts are tightly connected, clean, and don't leak. Even minor items like the thermostat being level were perfectly done by Dragan and his team. Further, he was also able to help me re-do the shoddy ducting to my bedroom downstairs (a separate unit from the one he installed). Afterwards, we got way more airflow to that part of the house, which greatly improved our comfort. I never thought I would be excited to spend money replacing an A/C unit, but after working with Dragan, I am actually looking forward to having my second builder-grade unit break down so I can get Dragan to replace that one as well. It's true what they say, the brand of A/C you get matters way less than who you get to install it. I had Dragon Air replace a 29 year old 4 ton system at my house. Although the quote was not the cheapest (actually it was on the pricier end), Dragan was willing to work with my limited budget and I could tell the company values maintaining their relationship with existing customers. The install process was very quick (they actually had two install crews instead of one) and was completed within 5 hours. The crew laid down tarp across the floors and stairs prior to beginning work and also vacuumed and swept the floors upon completion of the work. Upon conclusion of the install, Braden scheduled a follow-up appointment to evaluate the install once more in case there were any issues. Per Braden's recommendations, an additional return was installed. This cut down on system noise and also improved air circulation in my living area. Dampers were also added to allow for adjustment of flow to different areas. I like that Dragon Air posts photos of their previous work online; I think it shows pride in their work product. Based on what I observed from the install at my house, I believe the workmanship appears to be good. Overall an excellent experience. Only noteworthy request I would have is that the install crew would also wear a face covering when entering the home. read more

We've been using Dragon Air Services for about 18 months, and I won't consider using anyone else. I found them after an unpleasant experience with another local HVAC company we had been using tried lies and scare tactics to manipulating us into purchasing a new system that we did not yet need. Not only were they dishonest, by saying our system was leaking CO into our home, which that was not true, but they also tried to price gouge us. Our system was 19 years old and they most likely would have been success in pulling this fast one if their quote was anywhere near reasonable. I found Dragon Air after calling around for a second opinion. They came out with tools that measure CO and verified that we were not leaking CO. About one year later that old system finally gave it up so I called Dragon Air back out. They gave me a quote that was so freakin superior to the one their competitors had given me. I was able to purchase a two stage 17 SEER system for the same amount of money the other company wanted for a single stage 16 SEER system. Our second old HVAC system just went out last month. I again called Dragon Air and had our second system replaced. This time we went with a variable speed 18 SEER unit. It is so much better the old system. Our attic has limited space available for air ducts. Dragon Air added what they could which greatly improved the system's ability to keep all our rooms comfortable. Dragan and Alex have each been out to work on our systems. They are truly knowledgeable, honest, offer competitive prices, and do outstanding work. read more

After a new AC install by my current company, for 2 plus years had been asking my current AC company to fix the issue with the condensation line-there was always water in the overflow pan and I was concerned eventually it would leak through. My current company kept telling me it's because the new systems put out so much water that can happen and the lines can get clogged (so they would blow out the "clogged line" with an air compressor). The problem was I have two separate units and never had the issue with the other which was also a new install. Tried Dragon Air because they helped me out in a pinch approx 2 years ago in moving an air duct when my company was unavailable. I called Dragon Air again because was getting no where with my current company and Dragon Air immediately figured out the problem was the condensation line was never leveled appropriately when my current company installed the new AC system which resulted in the condensation flowing back onto the coils which in turned would result in drainage into the overflow pan. Dragon Air fixed it quickly and never tried to sell me or swindle me on a more expensive repair. They won my loyalty and I will be switching to Dragon Air. read more

I was in need of a new company to take over preventative maintenance of out HVAC. We contacted Dragon because of all the 5* reviews and they really are top notch. They came out this morning to do preventative maintenance on our heater and, low and behold, it didn't turn on. We specifically scheduled them to do the maintenance before it got cold so it could be fixed if anything didn't work. They showed me that the gas valve was getting gas to it and the electrical signal to turn on, but it simply wasn't so it needed to be replaced. I expected them to schedule a service time next week, today is Fridays. Instead, they said they'd be back this afternoon.
