Sharjeel Khan came out to service our HVAC system and clear and flush the condensate drain line to make sure the condensation from our indoor unit was draining properly. Sharjeel was extremely detailed, professional, courteous, and thorough. He took the time to make sure the drain line was completely cleared and that everything was functioning and draining correctly before finishing the job. I especially appreciated that he went above and beyond rather than simply completing the minimum required service. It is refreshing to work with a technician who takes pride in his work and genuinely wants to make sure the customer is taken care of. I feel I need to alert all that Samm's Heating and Air is under new ownership and is certainly not providing the service it once did. We have used them since 2018 and referred friends, neighbors and family to them. They have always been terrific. But our last routine maintenance on 5/15/26 resulted in our large AC system not working. We called and were told we could schedule an appointment for 5/21/26. We certainly expected they would send someone to us that night since they caused the problem. It was a working system prior to their routine checkup. They did say we could 'try to get on the list' if we called Saturday morning. Otherwise we could make an appointment for 5/21. I called to talk to Tiffany (owner) this morning and was told she was not in today. I asked to have her call me as soon as possible. I was then told she did not work there anymore. I asked if she or the family sold it. I was given a runaround but was eventually put on hold and then the phone call was dropped. There was an issue with ordering a TXV unit; it was sent to a distribution center and our service guy had to call forever until he found it. Worst experience with a heating and air company of my life which is saying something as I'm in my 50's and I've been a Realtor for 20plus yrs and have owned many homes and rentals and been a tenant in others. Absolutely rude and not interested in "making it right!" I'm shocked by the way I was spoken to by the technician and then by manager name I believe was Amy. The tech was Tiffany. If you want customer service and want help getting your system right and want to avoid damage to the property look elsewhere! The comment from the manager below is in only true in part. There was damage to the property and as a tenant I definitely am required on my lease to change the filters. Telling me one no longer exits or that another takes it place is vital to my lease agreement. Furthermore, only the tenant knows the issues with a property not the landlord who does not face those issues. Telling a tenant you don't speak to them is incredulous, ridiculous and disrespectful. It's not how a smart business person operates knowing that tenants are customers too and one day could be a homeowner and/or landlord as well. It's bad business practice. read more

Please don't not use them! I did the yearly service with them. They told me I need to replace my entire system.10 for to 15K. My AC went out with 2 young kids at house. Tech comes out and says it will cost between 825 to 1,500 to fix and there is nothing he can do to fix now so me and kids were hot for 36 hrs. My friend came over to take a look and said all it needed was a compressor. Ran down to ace and had my ac going on 30 min. When I called to cancel the appointment for the expensive fix they quoted the lady that answered the phone says sorry for the misdiagnosis of the tech but tried to justify it with the fact that their $435 condenser that costs $33.00 at ace comes with 5 yr warranty. First, are ya kidding me on that mark up!!! Second, a qualified tech should have been able to fix it right then and there and save me and my children some suffering. My friend is not even an ac tech. They also told me they would refund me for the charge of $129.00 to come out to tell me they couldn't fix it which has not been does yet so I've had to dispute it with CC company. This company is the epitome of scammers and I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and I implore you to find a honest company and this is not it! read more

I called Samm's to address a frozen over AC at my house. The person on the phone was friendly, efficient, and helpful. They came out quickly and were on time for the appointment. The techs were courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable. They checked all aspects of the system and showed me video evidence of the problem they found. They were not able to fix the issue on the spot as a major component replacement is needed but they were able to recharge the system as a temporary solution to get me cooling again. The pricing was upfront and fair, I appreciate that the service call fee is waived with repair. The whole experience made me feel comfortable and appreciated. The style of service emphasized integrity and honesty which is huge when dealing with contractors like this. A few weeks back, we had some AC issues, and found Samm's Heating and AC and thought we would give them a call. The technician came out and seemed to get the unit working. Within a couple weeks, the unit was messing up again. We again called Samm's late at night because the extreme heat was unbearable. The technician came out, and said they couldn't fix it, and it needed a new compressor, but still charged us for the visit. Hence to say, we called another AC company the next morning, and they came out, and said there was nothing wrong at all with the compressor, it was just faulty wiring, done by the Samm's technician a couple weeks earlier. The Samm's technician didn't put a new wire on the unit, just patched up the old one. The other AC company replaced the wire, and didn't charge anything unlike Samm's the previous night when they didn't even fix anything. I decided since the overall unit was old, maybe I should get a new one. I decided I would give Samm's a shot again, and said I'd like a quote on a new unit. They sent a sales guy over to give me a quote. I already had a quote from the other AC company that had come out when the Samm's salesman arrived. He said we are giving you the deal of a lifetime, for $11,695 for a new unit. Unfortunately, the Samm's salesman didn't know I had the other quote from earlier that day from the other AC company for $5950. I'm not sure why Samm's would hike the price up that much. I mean, I understand the salesman wants a big commission, and the company wants profit, but I would just hope the business owner of Samm's would understand that is the wrong way to run a business. Summer in this Dallas heat is unbearable, and to prey on customers who are desperate for their AC to work is a wrong way to run a business, and for technicians to not know what they're doing is probably not good for future customers. read more

My AC went and I had a very quick response time from the time I called and someone coming out. They even came out on a Sunday to get me up and running. I think that's pretty damn good. I called a few places and wanted me to wait for a week to get someone out there but in this heat, I am not going to wait that long to get my AC fixed. Saam's came through when I needed them the most. Price is on the high side but competitive what they charge for labor in the area. I can find a guy that can do it for cheaper but is it worth suffering for days and and weeks when an unexpected repair needs to be done, probably not. I gave this company a middle-of-the-road rating because I can't judge their "work". The tech that came out and gave the estimate was very nice but I did not use them for my system replacement. I originally called them based on their advertised "60-month no interest" financing offer, only to find out at the end of the estimate that while there's no monthly "interest" over 60 months, they charge a higher price upfront (which worked out to be about 3.5% over 60 months). read more

It's hard to find honest and service-oriented (as opposed to sales-oriented) companies in this field. We had a problem where we would set the thermostat to 74 degrees but the actual temperature would hover around 81 degrees. Basically, our three-year old house wasn't cooling sufficiently. Another company came and peddled all sorts of products without actually fixing or even properly diagnosing the problem at hand. I called Samm's for a second opinion. Karl came out on a Saturday and it didn't take long for him to figure out that our capacitor for one of the outdoor units was out. He replaced it quickly and the house cools properly now. He knows what he's doing. The only reason I took a star away is because of the cost. It was $270 to install a part that costs $30 max, meaning the 20 minutes of labor was around $240. They "waived" the $80 service call fee, which meant one of two things: (1) the service fee really was waived and the labor cost really was $240, which I think was a bit high; or (2) the service fee really wasn't waived and the labor cost was more like $160, which would be worse since the promise to waive was essentially broken. I'm assuming it's the former since I got the impression that they were honest. Regardless, don't let this be a deterrent and confidently use Samm's. Being out $270 is much better than unnecessarily spending $7000 to replace a perfectly fine system, as advised by another company. read more

If I could give this company more than 5 stars....l would! I cannot recommend this company enough!! We had our heating unit stop working right before #snowmageddon of 2021 took place, and turns out we needed an entire new unit (not at all surprised as the unit was as old as our house...26 years). We had a couple of companies come out and SAMMS offered us the most for our money, including a consumer reports top rated unit, and they came highly recommended by neighbors on our NextDoor app, so we chose them. Despite several days of snow, ice, and record low temps, technicians from SAMMS came out on Thursday and installed our new unit plus provided all new equipment in the attic. The technicians were extremely polite and knowledgeable and spent time training us on how to use our fancy new thermostat once the install was complete. They were also very respectful of our house and laid tarps down all through our entryway, up the stairs, and all the way to our attic. They came out quickly to resolve a no heat issue. First quote was 300 to replace a igniter. I agreed. Then he tried to sell me insurance for $200. I refused. At that point the ignitor he had in his truck "did not fit". He calls in and adjusts his price to $500. By that time I had pulled the part number and searched the internet. $20-$30 delivered. I told him to replace the old ignitor and watched carefully. It was 2, yes TWO screws. I called the local HVAC supply and they had a dozen in stock for $30 each. Less than an hour later I had picked up the right part and installed myself. Saams did charge me $80 for coming out to tell me the ignitor was bad. The "insurance" is a rip off and their pricing is over the top. I told the guy at the HVAC supply store what had happened and he said it should have been a $200 job at most. In response to the claim they do not sell "insurance". Per their website it is called "Samm's Platinum Annual Plan". All service contracts/warranty work is a type of "Insurance". This is the correct company for sure. read more

They have done a lot of work for us and we are always satisfied. When we turned our heat on for the first time a few days ago it would not work. Look, there's a universal rule in HVAC: You're either big enough to do radio and other advertising and you are therefore super-expensive, or you aren't big enough to do advertising and you are a small time ham-and-egger, and you kind of suck. It's a simple rule, and fair in its way. Samm's is an offset to the rule. Once again, Yelp's 4.5 star rating brought me to them in the first place. I called three companies. One could not come out until Wednesday (Big, Expensive); another never returned my call (small-time, sucked). Samm's was prompt, and were willing to send someone out same day (not for free, and I don't blame them). Timothy was super meticulous, and knew everything there was to know about residential AC units and the problems therein. My problem turned out to be fairly simple (capacitor). But because of his acumen and sort of chilled out nature, I took his recos at face value. Look, when your A/C goes out - in Texas - in August - you're just hoping to not get screwed. Just switched to Samm's from another provider. I needed to replace a heat pump system. I switched because I asked both the current HVAC company and Samm's to provide me with a comprehensive estimate and recommendations for a mid-range replacement to the old system. The other company provided an incomplete estimate on a low end system so they were not listening. Russ from Samm's listened and provide exactly what I needed. The deal was done. The installation of the heating unit which is inside the house was difficult because current units are a little larger than older units but the crew got it done and got it done faster than expected. Much to my surprise, Samm's called me to schedule their technician to inspect the job done by the installers. That is the first time that has ever been done on any of my complete replacement jobs. The technician addressed a minor condensation and the system is running flawlessly with no external condensation. This job was done for an elderly friend so I decided to test the filter replacement process. I couldn't get the filter out without pulling harder than I was comfortable doing so I called Samm's. They sent their technician out that same morning. All is well now. I will be switching my HVAC maintenance to Samm's as soon as my existing contract expires. I initially called Samm's for a quote on replacing duct work in my home. The representative was courteous and professional. They were the best quote received. The rep asked me about a maintenance contract for my A/C system. I was hesitant because I had done maintenance contracts in the past and it seemed like it always ended up costing more than just the contract fee. What I didn't know was that those other companies Technicians work on commission so it was in their best interest to charge me more money, not mine. I like that Samm's technicians are not on commission and do not add on unnecessary "repairs". I have renewed the maintenance contract ever since. read more

Last Sunday...July 30th, the condenser fan motor died in my air conditioner unit. It was 8 am and I didn't know if there was a company that would be open on Sunday's. I saw Samm's Heating and Air Conditioning on the web and checked out all of the great reviews about them. I called and got an immediate response and got an appointment pronto. Karl came out and saw the problem, the part was under warranty, but it would be a little difficult to get the part we needed on a Sunday. It was now 83 degrees in my house and my cats were not too happy. So I had to buy the part that Karl had available out of pocket. He had everything up and running in no time. Karl was very professional with a great disposition! I called their office the next morning to see if I could be reimbursed for the part. I spoke with Amber and Rose who were both super helpful!
