Called for a unit not cooling. Was traveling so dispatcher worked with me scheduling a tight time frame and called before coming out just to be sure I was there. Tech Davis was courteous, did some diagnostics and identified the problem efficiently (it was what I suggested it would be, but I appreciate him double checking for other potentialities). He showed me the failed part with his instrumentation readings, so I would say communication is very good too. Since they did the replacement in 2016, he informed me the part was under warranty, which they handled, and charged only for service call. All in all a very good experience. read more

I was using Milestone for my HVAC repairs. They bought the company that installed my two new HVAC systems. During my spring check up, the milestone tech said some of my units was leaking Freon and need a new evaporator coil costing over $2000. I felt something was not wright. I call Lucas HVAC after a neighbor recommended them. Davis was my service technician. I was instantly impressed by his demeanor and knowledge. He was understanding that I had concerns about the milestone diagnosis. Davis found in a short amount of time that all I needed was two pounds of freon. The cost was $175 compared to the $2000 quote from milestone. I would highly recommend this company! read more

Normally that would make me skeptical but I can tell you it's because they don't just tell you that you need entire new furnace or air conditioner like people fear when there they have an HVAC problem. They fix the issue at hand. They are honest and trustworthy. I called them over the weekend when my mother-in-law's air conditioner wasn't cooling. I am exttremely pleased with the job that Lucas did with my total replacement of two systems and a complete duct changeout. The install was fast and neat. The condensing unit was dented during installation and was immediately replaced with another. The Thermostats were explained completely to me and my wife and the app downloaded and used immediately. Our upstairs AC went out a week ago in the late afternoon. Davis came out to diagnose the very next morning and he was able to quickly figure out what was wrong and offer us several different options for repair. My outdated A/C unit stopped working in August. It was hot. I hated it. For a few days I used my own budget friendly solution (eating only popsicles and crying a lot) but eventually decided I needed professional help...for the A/c repair. (I'm fine emotionally) First, I contacted some other lame company and they said i needed a new unit which would cost me $10,000 dollars! ::spits out popsicle in surprised disbelief:: Kinda coughing, I told them, "Do you have any idea how many popsicles I could by for $10,000?!" We did the math and it's roughly 140,000 if you don't include shipping and don't get creative with financing. So obviously I asked a local realtor I trust to recommend a different A/C repair company. Davis from Lucas Hvac came out the next day. He was very kind and professional. Davis boringly explained that I needed a new fan motor AND a new fan AND my a/c unit was perhaps the oldest in the county and blah, blah get to the point Davis, jeeze. All together it was gonna only cost about $500! I think I startled him because he jumped a little when I inexplicably yelled "Holy humidity! You've got a deal!" Now my a/c works great and I can now potentially have my friends over in the event I make friends. Maybe I'll start a band? Anyway, if my band, Free Beer and the Dollar Shots, ever make it big, it's because Lucas Hvac cooled my house enough for the band to practice there. Amazing work! Our A/C gave out on a Friday evening after the close of business. I called and left a message and figured I wouldn't hear back until Monday morning. They called me back within 2 hours and were able to schedule a tech to come out first thing on Saturday. They got us scheduled for installation on a Monday morning. The guys did great work and were really quick/efficient. Our new system is working great and we finally have a cool house again! I can't say enough great things about all the employees I worked with. I have used Lucas HVAC for ALL of my heating & A/C needs for over 10+ years. I even referred them to a friend, which didn't turn out so well. Over the past year I had left numerous messages (4-5) w/no return call on an A/C system they installed. I finally heard back from the owner in the middle of summer & he apologized & said they were swamped. Since my issue wasn't urgent I agreed to call them again in the winter. Fast forward, I scheduled them for today & one hour before they are to arrive I'm told oh by the way, we're going to charge you $79 for a trip charge. We'll give you an estimate to fix the problem we created. No thank you. I've spent more than $79 in my time chasing them down. I'm looking for a new A/C company & have thrown their # away. read more

You just can't go wrong with these guys. I've had a few experiences with them. First go round was when our AC went out in the middle of summer. I called several places and it came down to Lucas HVAC or another Allen outfit. I was thoroughly impressed with Jerry and the energy saving tips he gave me while checking over the system (some of which I still use to this day, a few others are still on my honey do list). We wound up using the other company only because it was an emergency and they could get it done a quicker (bigger team) but we paid more for less. I was that impressed that when we decided to add another return to the system to help efficiency and temperature balance we had Lucas HVAC take care of that for us. They absolutely will not sell you on crap you don't need. Good work, good prices, fantastic people. read more

When Davis came out for the quote, he was very thorough and spent a lot of time explaining my options (one stage vs two stage) and explaining how various parts of the system worked. I had been dealing with a leak in my A/C for about 3 years, and heater problems for the last 2 years. When I was referred to Lucas HVAC, I found out that the company I was previously using was over charging me for the refrigerant. After paying to refill the refrigerant for 2 more seasons, and dealing with an old rusty blower motor and heater problems, I decided to get a new system. The previous company quoted me a price when I was still using them, but Lucas HVAC's price was much lower, like over a thousand dollars lower. They got to work on it rather quickly and I love the new system. It is quieter, more energy efficient, has saved me money on my electric bill, and has cooled my house nicely all summer long. So my air conditioning just went out this week and I've met or talked over the phone with a lot of air conditioning folks lately. Some were impressive, some were not, but most were pretty decent if not good. However Jerry Coleman (owner) of Lucas HVAC impressed me so much that I felt compelled to write a review about him right away to hopefully give the benefit of his service to others as well. To be clear, I have not bought a system from him yet as I am just trying to find out what I need and get a couple of quotes, but Jerry and his company have been All-Stars so far and are at the top of my list. To start, when I called, I got a pleasant voice (Ellie/Allie? or Carla) to speak to. They were friendly and pleasant to speak with. Also, they called me back when they said they would. As you can tell I've had an experience or two with other companies where that was not the case. It's refreshing to me to feel as though I am appreciated as a potential customer and not feel like I'm bothering someone. So Carla set up my appointment with Jerry and he was out here promptly the next morning. I had no idea when Jerry first introduced himself that he was the actual owner of the company until l picked it up later in our conversation. My system is a Carrier, so he knew it very well, as his company deals with Carrier and Trane both. He looked at my system, walked me through my house and gave me some insight and a few pointers, and even let me know about some poison ivey I had growing in my front yard which I had no idea about and am allergic to. After discussing everything with me, he quoted me a price which I thought was really fair. His price was at if not better than most I had talked to, but his service was second to none. I believe he mentioned financing as well if you need. I've narrowed it down to two I believe, Lucas HVAC being one because of this experience so I will write a follow up once my unit is installed. Either way, do yourself a favor and call these awesome folks for your A/C needs, I have no doubt Jerry and his staff will take good care of you. Now off to take care of that poison ivey. read more

Very Happy with Jerry and Carla at Lucas HVAC. I recently had one of the big advertised companies give me a jaw dropping quote for a new system that left me concerned that I would be paying for an AC for the rest of my life. Jerry came out very quickly, gave me a couple options, both with very good pricing. He was able to put the system in next day, showed up right on time, and got done in a reasonable amount of time. Throughout the process, Jerry taught me a few things about how AC works in general, how to read a gauge, etc. Super nice guy, and if we are both alive when this one gives out, will use him again. We paid for Lucas HVAC to assess 2 AC and 1 furnace unit during an option period on a house purchase. They showed up and SERVICED the seller's AC units and tried to make the potential buyer pay for the service. The technician was very nice, and capable, but had no idea that the scope of service was to ASSESS the units as a pre-sale move. At the end of the day, the owner, Jerry, would not even get on the phone with me and refused to come do the service that they were paid to do. Absolutely terrible management and lack of integrity to fulfill the HVAC inspection which was very clearly requested (and they made sure they billed me for it before they showed up). Oh by the way, they were late... too. I just want to point out that the technician was very nice and did what he thought he was supposed to do, but their ownership bungled everything and refused to make it right. Lucas HVAC did a great job replacing my old central AC unit with a Carrier Heat Pump. Lucas HVAC promptly answered my request for a bid to replace my old system. I was impressed by Jerry (the owner) when he came out to look at my old unit. He was thorough in explaining what would be included in the replacement and I had his bid before he left my driveway. After getting bids from a couple other companies, I picked Lucas HVAC because I trusted that they would do a great job at a great price! The installation was done professionally and with great care. The installers arrived when I was told that they would and they worked diligently to get the job done as quickly as possible. I am very happy with the equipment and installation. These guys are great. Gary (technician) came out last year to refill the refrigerant and noted a slight leak in the coil. We called it good for last year as a band-aid and would reevaluate this year. Well, the time came and Gary came back. Unfortunately my problems had only gotten worse as our outside unit was stuck in "heat pump" despite us having gas heat. Apparently when these units were installed some 20 years ago it was an upgrade to have the option for electric heat, but when they fail, they get stuck there no matter what. Jerry (the owner) honored his price quotes from last year for Carrier and Trane products, and this year let us know he now has Amana (more wallet friendly). I appreciated him sending those over, but as any good consumer I brought in a couple of other guys to bid as well. Well wouldn't you know that Jerry beat every one of them. When I called Lucas HVAC back to schedule the install, I had the pleasure of speaking with Carla. She's great and very personable. Jerry arrived on time for installation and his crew worked tirelessly to replace the coil in the attic as well as the outside unit. They were very professional, courteous, and I would recommend them to anyone who is needing HVAC work done. They will be my first call for any future work. read more

Love this company. We've used them for about 15 years and 2 houses now. Just barely still in their working area since we moved to Frisco. They are so honest, and accurate. Won't try to sell you something you don't need. We bought 2 ac's from them in our old house. They recommended adding a return vent that made our house twice as cold. 3 other previous ac companies had failed to do anything to cool it off. Jerry and his guys know their stuff! My mom used them and they recommended fixing her existing unit for a couple of hundred dollars compared to the thousands 2 other ac companies had tried to take advantage of her.
