Hi!! I was a part of something SO cool today!! ...Well, we had a Super Fantastic server by the name of Mikayla, aka.."Mermaid." She made our entire experience awesome because she was professional, very good at her job, totally interacted with all of us and was super fun, funny and animated! She had purple and blue hair. My boyfriend and I were killing some time exploring Georgetown while his car was being serviced, and we decided to have lunch here. It was so good! We shared the best French onion soup I've had in a while. He got an ahi tuna salad, and I got the pecan chicken salad. Both were great. The portions were manageable, the service in the bar area was outstanding, and it was just a really nice experience overall. I think that the bartender's name is Michael. My fiancé came here for dinner one night because we read all the reviews and knew we had to check it out! The food was exceptional! The service wasn't very good. I got the onion soup(because everyone reviewing raves about it), and it was the best onion soup I've ever had. We shared the lamp chop with ravioli and asparagus and it was phenomenal (although be careful because I told them we were sharing it so they charged me an extra $3 dollars. WTF?) We ate at Wildfire for the first time Thursday evening and were pleasantly surprised. The service is excellent and the dining room lovely, with a nod to restaurants of the past. The hot rolls were scrumptious and the cocktails were very good. My husband had the chicken fried steak which is made with ribeye steak and not pounded quite enough, so it was just okay. My MIL had the chicken cordon blue which was very good as well. I ordered one of the specialties, the elk. The asparagus and mashed, red bliss potatoes were excellent. But, the elk was tough. The sauce was delicious, but it didn't make up for the elk. I would recommend this restaurant, but next time, I will try something different. read more

This place has nice aura and reasonable decor. I was by the bar and they bartenders were nice and showed some personality. Had the rack of lamb, elk steak and duck quesadilla. Now while this was all tasty, they were incredibly small. The rack indicated 6 to 8 chops but I could seriously grab two at a time and it would be the size of one that's reasonable sized The quesadilla was more like a medium tortilla folded over and cut in half to serve. The elk, which was my fav, was cooked to perfection but done within three bites. The place is decent and worthy to eat at, but only when you've eaten already or have to go. Disappointing. First time we waited apx 20-25 minutes during lunch just to get our ice tea and water. We waited even longer for our bar drinks. Food that time was pretty good but the service was awful. Next visit, had a hamburger & fries. Good burger. But they gave four fries for $4 extra dollars. A dollar per wedge. And they weren't impressive. Any place charging extra for common fries, which are neither great or plentiful, we call that price gouging. This week we gave them another try. This time our table all started coughing. And the coughing got worse. We couldn't speak. It was like we all suddenly had coughing spasms. We noted others in the restaurant were also coughing. Very unpleasant. We said to each other, it was like something was in the air. Then we told our server who then informed us that the kitchen, during the busy lunch hour, made the brilliant decision that it was a great time to roast hot peppers. Frying peppers sends capsaicin molecules flying into the air, where they can be inhaled and irritate your lungs, leading to coughing fits, and even choking and/or discomfort while breathing. You would think they'd have the common sense to cook these when the restaurant isn't full of diners. After all, they'd have to know this is a common response while cooking peppers. The food has mostly been quite good, which is their most consistent aspect. To say the management is out-to-lunch is an understatement. Who is increasing their prices to $4 per french fry, managing the kitchen, managing the servers, watching the floor? No one is actually managing many aspects of this establishment. We know this business and we can say, unreservedly, there is a problem with the management here. Such problems are 100% careless and avoidable. read more

Wildfire is a great place for a good lunch! They had cinco de Mayo special of a ribeye, Spanish rice and refried beans (black I think). My friend Val and I split it for a lunch date after a visit to the Inner Space Caverns. (Review still pending). We ordered the spinach artichoke dip with chips (3 colored). We were told the chips was made in house, but tasted like they were ordered out of house. The dip container was piping hot, however the dips tasted cold. Now the dip was good, but not better then most I have had at other locations. The drink I had requested was sweet tea, yet they do not serve sweet tea despite being in the great state of Texas! She did offer a great alternative flavored tea, which I chose peach with half lemonade. The Lack of sweet tea was made up for the delicious mixture she and I requested. Our servers name was Adriana, who was young and had been working there faithfully for 5 years! A local girl serving a local restaurant for that long deserves recognition, as she complimented on the food, the specials, and the drinks. My overall experience was delightful. This has not been the first place I have been out to since Covid-19, but I can definitely say they are doing wonderful in customer service (and satisfaction), serve great food, especially their specials! We went on a Sunday evening (6pm) and ate in the main dining room. The server wanted to take our appetizer and entree order at the same time, which is fine, but I wanted to at least look at the menu. We ordered two appetizers only to be told they were both out. We tried two others -- scallops and polenta cakes. Scallops were decent but overcooked. The polenta was awful -- cold, raw in the middle, with a terrible olive flavor covering the entire dish. Hubby had the strip - asked for medium rare, got medium. I had the ribeye -- asked for rare, got well-done. And when I say well done, I mean a Texas girl putting ketchup on a steak well- done. Both tables next to us sent their steaks back and still didn't get the right cook. Needless to say, we will not be returning. read more

I will start by saying that the service was really good and the ambience as well, but the food was hit or miss. Three ordered the prime rib special and it was lukewarm to cold. It was apparent that they had cut the prime rib earlier in the evening and then seared it to warm it up. The baked potatoes had all the fixings, but not enough, especially the butter and sour cream. The rib eye was excellent as was the chicken salad. It was a bummer we had so many hit or misses as I don't think we will be back. read more

Not usually a big review writer but was recently VERY impressed with Wildfire and had to share. Absolutely the best service on the square. Our first time visiting and we found a spot in the bar during happy hour. The place was full of regulars, which is always a good sign! We tried a few appetizers and then dinner, and every single thing was delicious. Servers were knowledgeable and welcoming, and checked on us every course and in between, and drinks were always full. The team seemed happy and cheerful and this reflected back onto the entire room full of guests. We're used to mediocre service and food on the square, but were blown away after this Friday night visit and asked ourselves "why haven't we ever tried this place?!". First off I would like to say no where on their website does it say you need a reservation. We get there and are asked if we had a reservation and say no, then told it would be 5 min for a table. So, we get a drink at the bar. There are plenty of tables in the dining rooms and we get seated at a booth in the bar area. The interesting thing is we are the ONLY non white people there and maybe it's a coincidence, but the previous people at the same table were not WHITE either. The food was mediocre. We ordered the steaks which were way too Smokey and had no flavor, not even salt. My steak was more rare than I asked for. I will have to say that they do have good bread. I was also not asked which side I wanted they assumed I wanted the potato and were not asked if we wanted water or steak sauce (it really needs it). One of the servers was not dressed very well wearing torn shoes and the bottom of his pants were all ripped. All the bar servers were more interested in talking amongst themselves than serving us. Over all I would say you would be better off going somewhere like longhorn steakhouse as you will get better food and service for a better price. After seeing the post about steak place recommendations in the Williamson County Foodies Facebook page, we went to Wildfire in Georgetown to celebrate a milestone birthday and I can not speak highly enough about it! Our server, Bre was so helpful and engaging. Ambience was lovely. Having read reviews on Yelp as well, we had to try the shrimp/artichoke appetizer and it was delicious! My bacon-wrapped filet mingon was cooked perfectly to order and had a savory smoky flavor. BF's rack of lamb chops was perfection as well as his sides of mashed potatoes with Gorgonzola, sautéed spinach and tortilla crusted onion rings which were a tasty surprise. We love visiting Wildfire, but this review is for their catering services. Bill, the owner, was nothing short of fabulous, as were his employees. We met with Bill initially and he asked what kinds of food we liked. We listed off a few things and let him know we wanted hors d'oeuvres ad opposed to a sit down dinner. The next time we met with him, he had an amazing menu planned that blew us away! From just the few things we told him, he came up with several food stations that were not only amazing, but were so us He took our love of charcuterie and cheeses and you can see the breathtaking results. We told him we loved puff pastry and we had a station with smoked salmon canapés, parmesan palmers, mini beef wellingtons (hit of the show!), grilled goat cheese puffs and chicken liver mousse (another fav of ours) crostini. We wanted some sliders for our guests and he provided bison cheddar, baja chicken, habanero jack pork sausage and crab cake sliders. All phenomenal! Our vegetarian station had bruschetta, sun dried tomato and goat cheese polenta bites, caprese spears and oak grilled veggies with truffle oil. We had a seafood station with tuna tartare wonton cups, salmon and avocado poke and jumbo gulf shrimp. I was hiding around the corner from the shrimp right before the wedding started. I could not stand it...I had to have some. Frey were GORGEOUS! My wedding coordinator cracked up when I handed her two shrimp tails and a napkin right before I walked into the ceremony. :) We did not want a traditional cake, so we did a dessert station with individual portions of a gluten free chocolate torte, peach cobbler flutes, chocolate mousse shooters apple strudel in puff pastry, the most AMAZING carrot cake, cookies as big as your fist, mini cheesecakes (raspberry, lemon and amaretto) and wedding cupcakes. The food was beyond words and our guests are still talking about it. I have pictures of most of it and some stuff I think he slipped in. :) Sadly, like with most couples who get married, we were not able to try everything, but we heard it was all wonderful. One of the reasons we chose them was because we love eating there, BUT it was also right across the street from our venue (we rented out the historic court house on the square). They were beyond professional. They provided all the servers for the food as well as three bartenders. We had wine, beer and a full bar, complete with two signature drinks...they handled it all perfectly. We had a cocktail hour BEFORE the wedding and they prepped and planned ahead of time so there was not a huge bottleneck if people. They were set up and ready to go in time and I never worried about one single thing. There were also very attentive to both us and our guests...tables were cleared quickly and they made sure everyone never wanted for beverages. We have already talked about having them cater future events for us. If you are looking for something special, from a small dinner to a big wedding, give them a try. read more

This was our first time here with another family couple. We were very excited to try because of all the reviews. However the experience of the food was underwhelming for the over priced meals. My husband ordered the 12oz bison steak, when the plate arrived, it was 3 small strips of bison. His side salad was nothing special. I ordered the 5oz bacon wrapped filet minon (note; my 5oz was bigger than his 12oz bison) was very dry and not flavorful. Bonus review: do not get the lamb chops as they were also not a hit at the table. Maybe it was a bad night for the kitchen but we most likely would not come back. I took my family to the wildfire restaurant and it was the best fancy restaurant I had ever saw. They had giant portians for the family and a bar for the adults. I don't typically like fancy restaurants but this one was cowboy themed. There is also a great waiter called Travis and he is also very nice and funny. It's also next to a theater so you can come eat and then go to the theater. Coming out of this I know I will hopefully go back sometime soon. We were stunned...we had a horrible first time greeting from AMBER at the door---she was not what I expected from a hostess and her customer service skills need polishing up as well. We stayed in Georgetown for a night & had dinner here. We were hesitant to try the place because of poor review in yelp, but I'm glad we did! We were seated right away and our server was very nice and attentive. The food were delicious and serving/portion is pretty huge so my friend and I just shared it. We really like the calamari so we went the following day and order it to go, but the portion is less than dine in. It's still good tho & love the dips.
