My family of 7 chose this place for our, now running on 25 years, annual Christmas dinner. It started in Warren, Rhode Island, moving to Taunton, Ma. for many years. Now, since my sister and I and our families have moved to Texas, we search each year for a new venue to enjoy our dinner. Due to the central location of Georgetown between my sister's and my homes, we picked Wildfire based on the menu, and favorable comments from my neighbors. The venue was pleasant and clean, nicely decorated for the season. We were seated at a large round table and promptly addressed by Dion. (Sorry if I am spelling that wrong.). He was awesome, funny, articulate, and professional. Overall, I was pleased with the experience, but my dad did not care for his shrimp. He found it rubbery and lovely spicy (preference?). My duck breast was fatty, but duck breast should be fatty. Wish it was covered with a crispy skin, as duck should be. I liked the other sides that were plated. The steaks the others had were liked and eaten, but each had a small complaint about their meal. My son had the chicken cordon bleu, but wasn't crazy about the amount of peppers and other items inside. That could be preference. The prices were not ridiculous, though, and for the entire experience, I had fun, liked my meal, and enjoyed the service. Bravo. read more

Because of the distance from us, it's been a long time since we were last at Wildfire. Really wish it were closer. The service, variety, quality of food are really great. Been stopping by here often in the afternoons to take a break from riding my motorcycle. Well worth riding back into town for even after exploring the far reaches of CTX. From start to finish super friendly people. The bartender gets you what you want when you want it and when you order food it comes out quick, hot and tasty everytime for me so far. We ate in the bar section at a nice comfy booth that was open. The staff were very attentive and helpful with food selections and drinks. The food was perfectly cooked, delicious and flavorful. The portions were on the larger side of average but they tasted so go we stuffed ourselves. We then ordered dessert and I thought I might have to roll down the street to our vehicle. Hahaha Everything was lovely! I do want to say those collard greens are pretty Amazing along with the Pecan pie. Well be back for date nights! I'll wear stretchy pants next time. Hahah read more

We spent Christmas Eve here and had a lovely time. We started at the bar and JD ana amazing cocktail and then headed to the dining room for a steak dinner. My husband had the porterhouse and I had a 10 oz filet. The service was spot on. Dinner came with a baked potato but no other side dishes, for the price, it should have come with a vegetable as well. My favorite part of the dinner was the French Onion Soup! If you like soup--order theirs! The ambiance is really pretty and has a cool history vibe. We had heard great things about Wildfire so decided to give it a try as someplace special to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the get go, things were just odd. Firstly, we had to call the restaurant for reservations. Hard to believe in this day and age that there is no online reservation capability. We had no issue getting a reservation for a Tuesday evening. When we walked in to the restaurant, there was no apparent hostess stand, we just sort of felt like we wondered about trying to figure out where to go. Finally someone on the wait staff said they'd help us shortly. When we were seated, I feel like we got sort of shoved in to an odd corner in the restaurant with a crooked table and two uncomfortable chairs. Mine was so bad that I swapped it out for an extra chair sitting in a corner. Of all the seats in the restaurant, it seemed like this was the only table that had that type of chair. The restaurant is definitely in need of an interior update. The fake flowers, heavy draperies, paint colors and pictures screamed of the 90's - I'm guessing they are original to the space. Our waiter was very attentive, but was totally unengaging. It would have been nice to have been asked if this was our first time visiting (it was!) and give us a quick run down of the menu. Instead, we had to ask him what the restaurant is known for and ask him for suggestions. The service was good, just not personable in any way. I started with the jalapeno pineapple margarita which was excellent, but I thought if very strange to be service in a parfait glass. We had the Macadamia Encrusted Calamari for an appetizer. The appetizer was served quickly and the portion size was generous, but the calamari was chewy and totally lacked any flavor. I also had a Brussel Sprout & Beet Salad which was just a green salad with a few Brussel sprouts and beets thrown on top, not at all what I was expecting. In keeping with the oddity of the restaurant, the salad was served in a tiny little dish. As I was trying to cut the greens I kept wondering why in the world they wouldn't have put the salad on a salad plate! Again, just plain odd! For the main course, I ordered the petite filet mignon which was cooked as ordered and very good. The "loaded" baked potato was lacking in the load a bit, but it was tasty as well. My husband ordered the Atlantic Salmon and while he loved it, it had too much sauce for my taste. We would typically order a dessert for a special occasion like this, but given that the whole meal was a bit "meh," we decided to pass. That being said, most places we eat at for a special occasion like a birthday, offer some sort of a complimentary dessert. However, we were never asked nor did we tell anyone it was a special occasion, but I'm not sure it would have mattered. I would sum it up by saying that while the meal was OK, this is not even close to a 5-star experience and there are much better places to eat in Georgetown. I have a hunch it's a place we won't visit again. read more

I was not a fan of what I ordered which was on the menu described like this: Flame Kissed Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp.......... $22 roasted garlic cascabel sauce, pepita wild rice, tequila vegetables, pico de gallo When it came out all of the stuff besides the shrimp was in a big pile of goo. I couldn't eat it. It was mushy and had a really gross texture. Everything else was great. We had some appetizer salads, fresh hot bread and a bottle of wine. My husband had a steak and he loved it. Ambience and service is great. I think we will be back but I will read some of the reviews before ordering. read more

This review is strictly about service, we did not end up choosing to eat here. Host was disrespectful and gave us attitude when asking a simple question. She made it seem like it was illegal to show up to a restaurant without a reservation and couldn't give us a clear wait time even though it was not a busy night. read more

What can I say? This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I enjoy the lunch and brunch ribeye but I can say the chicken fried steak and duck salad is also delish! If this is my second review (can't remember if I reviewed them before)...well I can't say enough how good this place is! read more

In Georgetown for the Popptoberfest. Went to Wildfire for dinner. Host was very friendly as was the server. Service was quick. Appetizer bacon wrapped scallops on small sweet potato pancakes with bbq sauce, sweet corn and cooked apples diced. Fantastic! Only 3 to a serving so order enough. Dinner we had Filet & baked potato, cooked to order and very good. Apple smoked bacon spinach salad was very good. We enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Another plus was the room where we were seated there is room between tables and it was very comfortable. We will go back soon. read more

My favorite place in Georgetown. Reservations required because they are so busy. High end white table cloth experience. Date night, Anniversary or a Birthday celebration, this is the place to go. Service is impeccable and I would t expect less. Food is chef prepared and high quality with tons of flavor. Steak is my favorite on the menu. read more

Mexican Martini is THE BEST around. I had Texas Size Pastrami sandwich. Meh...def not Texas Size but in the smaller size to be honest. The rave reviews about the food at Wildfire Grill are accurate. I had the Blue Corn Encrusted Catfish, it was such a huge, yummy entree. I especially enjoyed the sides of Jicama Slaw and sweet potato fries. While our server was superb, the noise level in the historic dining room was so high. The noise was a huge distraction. Our table in the center of the room was tightly squeezed with the adjacent tables, I was afraid to back out of my chair for fear of hitting the patron behind me. We yearn to go back, but next time we will make a reservation for a table in the back room. I can't wait to try more of their delicious food. read more

Oh myyyyyy....why haven't I been here sooner?!?! What delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere. The pancetta wrapped salmon is a new fave for me for sure. Although I did try a bite of the ribeye that melts in your mouth...I will have to get that next time. The calamari wasn't as exciting, but there are so many other enticing options for starters that I want to try next time. The bread was fresh and warm. The service was exceptional. Walked in at 6:15pm yesterday and, though busy on a Friday night, they still seated our party of 2 within 15 minutes. Very friendly staff- hostess, server, bartender. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and they were incredible. Each of us had the Messina Hof Merlot which paired nicely with it. I ordered the pecan encrusted chicken salad and my husband the ahi tuna with wild rice. Would order the exact same thing next time we visit - so so so good. Prices are reasonable for a date night spot and the ambience is on point. Can't beat the location a block off the square so can meander around on foot before and after. Will be back. read more

I had trouble deciding how to rate this, I've been twice and really like a lot about this place. The building itself is awesome and a great fit for what the restaurant is. The moulding on the ceilings is especially cool. We went for my mother's birthday so we ate a lot. The bacon wrapped scallops with habanero bbq sauce were really tasty, the fresh rolls were great, and my side of greens and bacon were perfect. 4/5 entrees the we ordered were enjoyed and looked tasty but I was the odd man out. I like to go big on the rare occasions I actually eat at steakhouses so I went with the porterhouse. I had never left a restaurant with steak still on my plate or in a to-go box until that meal. Porterhouses are tough to cook because of the bone and it doesn't really bother me to have different doneness throughout a steak even though I always will order medium rare. This was the worst steak I've ever eaten. I avoid steak at places I don't trust to get it right so saying that is really not hyperbole. I was so disappointed by it that I couldn't stop quoting Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack. First sign that something was wrong was when it came out with some kind of demi-glacé sauce on top. Actually eating it I found the inside was grey around the edges and it felt like the grain of the meat crumbled in my mouth. I cut about an inch off the outside around the steak and gave it another shot but the flavor wasn't there at all. Can't justify giving more than two stars when the $42 entree came out that bad. read more

Umm umm good! For us thia was strictly dessert destination for a friend meet up downtown. The selection is awesome and portions are true Texas-sized, i.e. there's plenty there to share! We went bananas over the Bananas Wildfire! It's like bananas foster, but even better. The menu says "oak grilled" bananas, but I thought I tasted a little delicious smokey flavor in the crispy cookie bowl too. The vanilla ice cream slowly melts over the warm bananas, taking it to yet another level of yum! The Texas Two Spoons Pecan Pie is equally as decadent and could easily be shared by three or four. Went on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm, and was seated at a booth for over 20min before first getting talked to by a server. It was slow and therefore completely unnecessary for the long wait. The staff didn't seem apologetic for the long wait once engaged either. In addition, the manager on duty seemed like it was wise to argue and cuss out other employees outside of the kitchen, within complete earshot. Will definitely not be coming back. Nice little restaurant in the Georgetown downtown area. I got the agave chicken pasta and my wife got the stuffed shrimp plate and both were delicious. For dessert we got the blue berry banana bread pudding and it was also good. Our waitress heather was great and hope to dine in her section again. read more

They did not take it off the check. The steak my husband got was just OK The peach cobbler they have there now is worth going just for that .they make it in-house. The chicken fried steak was dry and very over cooked and the shrimp chowder was terrible. The service was worse. My friend enjoyed the enchiladas so got 1 star bump. Nearly 2 hours for lunch. Hard Pass. Today was our 4th time dining at Wildfire. The food and service is consistently excellent. Today we chose to eat in the bar area as it was a late lunch/early dinner. One of the benefits to the bar seating is you don't get the heavy smoke smell from the wood fired oven. French onion soup is always a "must order" item. It's a simple soup, but Wildfire does it right a la Julia Child style. Entrees we have tried and recommend are burgers, catfish, ribeye, rueben, chicken fried steak, and pasta. Please don't skip dessert and if you don't have room ask for it to go. They will package it nicely. Best carrot cake on the planet. Some day I will work my way through the rest. read more

Wildfire offers old-school service. Everything is thoughtful: cloth napkins, classic decor, and when the server brings your entree (for us it was ribeye and seared ahi), you're asked to check if the cook temp is correct (which it was). It appeared there were a lot of regulars too. We went Saturday around 5:30 pm (party of 2) and got a table immediately in the dining room. Everything was great. My only complaint was the crawfish on the Cajun rubbed ahi entree was fishy, but we will definitely be back. I'd love to try their cocktails. read more

Had a great experience with our server Shane. My only rule for him was to keep the breadbasket full and he definitely did that! Bloody Mary was really good and had a pretty amazing french toast with some nuts on it. Can't imagine a better experience. Shane made us feel at home. We will be back! My only gripe was they tried to seat us in the bar side but when we got to move to the fancy restaurant side I was happy. Bar side has a lot of loud boomers. read more
