I ranted and raved about this place because I trusted the owner Doug he was so kind. Well, apparently my being in hospice and sick affected my judgement because he did nothing but charge me for a serpentine belt that he did not replace nor need to because it had already been replaced new, (He didn't even inform me he was doing that. I found out after I paid and saw it on the bill, so there was no authorization ask for or received) and then put two clamps on a power steering PRESSURE hose that was bad instead of replacing hose and doing it right. For all that I was charged $184.79 for two $1.80 clamps that were nothing more than a worthless bandaid that lasted a few months max. He looked at a sick old lady on hospice and saw "sucker". Makes me wonder about the time I took it to him for a new charger. car had brand new battery that tow company checked and said was fine, but Doug insisted it was fried. (if fried, how all the lights light up still) I dont know. maybe that time was legit but the first time was nothing but a bogus scam. Now that it has been fixed right, and I have the part I have proof he scammed me. read more

My family and I have been going to Wildcat Automotive for years. They are honest and reasonable with their prices. They also take Zelle for payment, which is so convenient. Just remember that there is a daily limit of $2000 when using Zelle. He recently replaced our engine and fixed our A/C. Now he's also working on our other vehicle, fixing our brakes and the a/c in that one. Air Conditioning is a necessity for this Tucson heat! The owner, Doug, is a great guy! Doug and his crew were very quick to assist me on a moments notice (to be clear though it was just the right time, because they even told me if it were a week or two earlier then they wouldn't have been able to get to me that day). They took what I had to say about the car and acted upon my observations. They fixed my sons car and it rubs smoothly now. The only bad thing which wasn't in their control was the delay in the part coming in twice. But three days total my son's vehicle was fixed and ready to go. I called in on a Friday with the work that needed to be done (a labor intensive wheel bearing replacement on a 2010 Jeep Patriot). I've been looking for a trustworthy, reasonably priced mechanic ever since I've owned a car. I finally did! This shop is fantastic! I took my 2006 mini cooper to them because I had gotten an outrageous estimate from another shop and I was told that Wildcat could do all the work I needed for half the price. Wonderful. Low cost. Really honest! AND LOCAL. Came in for an oil change, for my Jeep Wrangler which has high mileage. I asked a lot of questions about synthetic oil and high mileage oils. Doug told me to use regular oil, because that's what I've been using from the start. I really appreciated his help. He didn't try to take advantage of me, I asked him to look around and see if anything else needed to be done, and he told me in a few months from now I'll need some work on my brakes. But everything is else was fine. Integrity goes a long way with me. I hate being ripped off, especially at places like jiffy lube. I looked on Yelp to locate a good rated automobile repair place. I noticed all of the 5 star rating that Wildcat Auto has. I took my car there to have my battery and alternator checked. I was greeted by Doug the owner who addressed my concerns and what additional service I wanted. My alternator was good but my battery needed replacing. I also had an oil change, filter replaced and tire rotation. My car starts and runs smoothly now. The pricing was excellent and fair. I took my truck in to get the A/C recharged after changing the high and low pressure hoses myself. I was quoted $39.99 for the service plus $15 a pound for refrigerant, so I was figuring on $100 total. Dropped the truck off at 7am and came back after work to pick it up. Total cost was $98 and that included the mechanic having to fix me mixing up two bolts on the hoses causing the system not to seal and be vacuumed down. I feel like Wildcat Automotive is an honest no BS mechanic. If you're looking for a good mechanic I highly recommend this place. read more

I was lucky enough to be gifted an oil change from Wildcat from a friend, and didnt go in with much expectation other than getting the basics. These guys really do seem to be the rare, honest and experienced mechanics that you hope youll find when your car springs a leak. They went above and beyond, were quick and very helpful. Didnt try to talk me into a bunch of extra crap, and all this was for an oil change that they had donated to a local charity, which my friend won and gave to me so it was all out of their pocket. Ive gone back with issues since then and will be dropping my car off again today for a long list of probs. Though its never a pleasure to deal with auto bills, these guys are top notch and I will recommend them until they prove otherwise. They are easy to deal with, courteous and though they may not be the cheapest, they take good care of your car and do the work right. Went here for an oil change. Staff was friendly and service was good. Pricing seemed high. I have a 350F that holds 16 qrt of oil. was quoted $90 over phone ended up being $120. Ford dealer charges me $100. No AC in waiting room. In AZ that is worth 1 star. read more

I did a lot of research regarding independent automotive repair garages in Tucson for my niece, a U of A student who drives a turd of a VW Jetta. Doug was so kind and helpful to me over the phone that I booked an appointment for later in that day for her car. Doug and Brett immediately diagnosed the problem(s), ordered the part, call me with what I thought to be a very fair estimate, gave us an acceptable timeframe, and fixed her up! Doug spent a lot of time speaking to my young niece in a very "fatherly" and respectful way about upkeep and maintenance of her car, and how to keep it in shape and running. She called me today saying her car was "smoking", and I immediately said "Call Doug at Wildcat Auto"! He helped her get a tow to his shop, and, though it was already Friday afternoon, he was able to once again diagnose the problem, get the part to the store, and get her up and running again! I think Brett even stayed past closing to test-drive her car and make sure it was working properly. Thank you Doug, Brett and Claf for being the kind of auto shop that we women can only hope for. Pros: - They had fair pricing for parts and maintenance. (even though it was wrong parts) - Was quickly serviced. (2 days is fast, but they told me one for some reason and changed their mind when they got annoyed when I asked about pricing.) Cons: -Poor customer service. -Did not diagnose problem and estimate cost. -Installed before consent from consumer. -They did not repair the problems. -They made a fake 5 star review of my vehicle(The only one on lot that day) on surecritic on same day I picked up my vehicle. -Felt they took advantage of me and my bank account. -Automatically signs you up for emails from different sites of theirs so when you unsubscribe another email pops up days later asking how great they were, so here's my review: I brought my vehicle in to fix my air conditioning problem a while back and asked them if they could give me an oil change too, while they figure out whats wrong with it. The person at the desk said they would contact me in a few hours and diagnose the problem for me, letting him know that I would need to know the prices before since I'm on a poor college student budget. I went to classes and 8 hours later I received no call. I called them and they told me that they were fixing it already and it took them a while to find the correct part for sale but they found it and were installing it already. Also, that it would be done by the end of the day to pick up. I politely told them that I really needed to know the price of what they were installing. So they played phone tag with me for the next 2 hours until I found out that it was going to cost me around $450.00, and extra for the oil change. This is way over my budget but the guy angrily wanted me to hurry up and tell him if I wanted them to throw my old part back in. Since the guy seemed so upset about it, I didn't trust him with putting my old stuff back in. I was afraid it would mess up my car and make it worse than before. So I told him to do it anyway, but not the oil change because I really needed to cut corners. He said okay, but it was going to suddenly not be done that day even though it's one less task to do. They called me at noon the next day and said it was ready, but bad news was they needed another part to fix it so it was going to be $50.00 more and they had already installed it. Taking advantage of the fact that I wasn't going to risk them chucking my old stuff back in. I wanted my car out of there. So I paid my fees and got my car out of there before they charged me for something else. My car air conditioning worked for about 1 day, so I just have a Freon leak, so they didn't even fix what I wanted them to fix. I will never go back even if they tell me they can repair it for free. read more
