We took pine of our cars for a wheel repair after curbing it. What sets them apart is that they don't do mobile service, so that they can control the quality of the work. The owner is in house almost everyday and they have technicians that have been there in the realm of 20 years. Our wheels are center lock, so we brought it in already off the car, as it's a specialized process to remove the wheel. They did a black satin finish on the wheel and it came out great. Good luck if you get stuck on the phone with that big bellyed woman who has terrible customer service skills. After explaining the issue I was having she laughed as if I didn't know what I was talking about. Yet I still took it to see if they could help me with my rim, they call me saying they can't help me and the only place that probably could would be in Phoenix. Good thing I kept looking for shops, next tire shop I went too, they helped me fix my issue immediately. A rim shop that couldn't fix a rim??? Crazy right, even worse that the big lady with a terrible attitude answering calls for them acting like she knows what she's talking about when it comes to rims. Like lady just take down my appointment and let the techs diagnose my issue, not you with your know it all mind-set. Should fire her if you want some good business! Spent $250 to get two bent rims repaired rather than $1000 buying new rims. Work was done faster than promised. I'm happy camper!

My aluminum rim cracked putting my car out of commission. My job is an hour away so having a repaired rim was vital. I dropped off the rim around 9am and it was ready by 4pm. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. My rim actually had 2 cracks in it but the price didn't change which was very nice of them. As a previous review mentioned, they did not call when the rim was ready. But considering that I dropped it off on a Friday (they're closed weekends) and got it the same day it definitely makes up for that lapse in communication. read more

I was on my way from Sacramento to Green Valley for a family event. Just as we were getting into Tucson, the low tire pressure indicator lit up on my dash. I stopped and put some air in and the next day, the light came on again. I figured it was a nail in the tire so I took it to a tire shop in Tucson. They gave me the bad news that the rim was cracked, which was extra bad because I needed to leave to go back to Sacramento in another day or so. They called Nu Wheels, told them my story, and Nu Wheels said to come right on over. I got there at noon, just as their guys went out for lunch. I came back at 1:00 and my car was ready to go at 2:00. They put me ahead of the rest of what they were doing that day just to make sure I was able to get back home when I needed to. Everyone there was very friendly, and I was extremely appreciative of how quickly they took care of the problem. On a side note, when I was leaving the tire shop to head over to Nu Wheels, one of the techs mentioned that he takes all of his drift spares there because they do good work at a very good price. Young woman with glasses that I talked to at the shop was very condescending and her behavior was indicative of someone that couldn't be bothered. I first called, and then asked a few questions about their process. The same woman had the same attitude come over across the phone. Made me feel as though she was doing ME a favor by ALLOWING ME to come to their shop. When I got there, within one sentence from her, not knowing she was the same person that I had talked with earlier, I knew it wasn't going to go well. I asked her to have a look at the wheel to see if it could be repaired. Mind you I had to take the wheel off the car it was on, get another car, and lug it over to them. She asked for me to leave it and pick it up the following day. I told her that wasn't an option for me as I had to use the car. She basically *huffed and puffed* and again made me feel like I was in the wrong. They took the wheel to the back of their shop, and 3 minutes later came back out and said that it couldn't be fixed at all. "There isn't anything we can do to it. We can't fix it. You have to buy another wheel." I asked why - and she said that it "was bent at the hub, and had a 'hollow lip'" I can't attest to the proficiency of their repair service. It seems their services are more geared towards the cosmetic end, where they grind, sand, paint, and then fill in gouged, chipped, etc rims - rather than actually dealing with structurally bent rims. What I can attest to is their customer service... and that was just flat out absent. I got the impression it was beyond what they wanted to do and they just didn't want to be bothered with it. So, I called a rim repair shop in Phoenix. He said that they could repair rims that were bent at the hub - up to almost a 2" bend. To bad Nu-wheel, because at a minimum of $150 to $250 x 4 = $600 to $1,000 that you can't be bothered with. read more

Read the reviews and was skeptical about going here - but so close to my commute so I decided to give them a try. Called and spoke to the owner ( I believe) and he was very nice said no problem to fix my corroded wheel (my new tire was loosing care because I did t have a tight seal between the wheel and the tire because of corrosion). They fixed it - but I didn't not get a call when the tire was ready - so that is my only suggestion for the company that the call folks when the job is done. The helped me get the tire in my car. Update: 1 star. 2 days later my tire had the low pressure light on again. I took it back and they then proceeded to tell me that my wheel was NOT repairable. But this was after I had to call the office at 4pm to make sure it was even done. When I called she said, "I don't know if it's done". I took it in at 8am. Seriously? I told her I was going down there either way so I could get my car back. Whoever runs the office is terrible at following up with the customers. When I got there they told me they must have missed the issue? Excuse me? Yet you "fixed it" and then charged me for it? So ridiculous. He said he had been trying to track my wheel down all day and he told me he found one but it would cost me $500.00. Again, another scam. When I told him I know it won't cost that much he changed his story and told me that they found the wheel for $350. The nerve of him to try to get more money out of me when I already paid him for nothing. I will never go back here and I would never recommend them. I don't even know how their still in business. Old Review: Thoroughly satisfied with their service. I kept getting a low tire light even after I had the sensors replaced and the tire checked for nails (but that's a whole other review). I finally got to the bottom of it, my wheel was cracked so I had a slow leak in the tire. I called Nu Wheel on Thursday and they told me to bring it in first thing Friday and they could fix it. I was quoted $125 which I thought was very fair. They had it done that afternoon as promised and everything is working just fine now. The front office lady was very pleasant on the phone when I called to check if it was finished and I had an easy experience with this process. I had a wheel with a bent rim that was making my tire bulge and was a danger. They were kind and honest and were able to find me a used replacement wheel to stay within my budget! I would have given five stars except I didn't get a call back when I had expected and when I did the message was confused. But it worked out quickly and they kept to their original price. I had three wheels repaired at NuWheel and for the most part they were fine however about a year later I was having problems with one of them. I took it to a tire shop as I thought it was the tire and they told me that the air was leaking through the weld that someone had attepmted to repair. I called up NuWheel so they could repair the broken weld and they told me that they would not cover the warranty which is suppose to be a lifetime warranty as long as you own the vehicle. I think I spoke with the same lady that had the attitude in the previous review (Kendra) as she is not helpful at all, she is very rude and acts like she is right without hearing what you have to say. I asked to speak with a manager and Kendra stated she was the manager so I asked who else could I speak with and she said the owner and she would give him the message. 3 days later I still have not heard from anyone, I have written emails, left messages and no one is retuning my calls. When I call I unfortunatley have to speak with the infamous Kendra which states that she will remind the owner again but I still have not heard from anyone. I very much doubt that she is passing on the message either that or the owner doesn't care about repeating customers. Why would they not warranty the wheel after I have paid them $140 x 3 wheels? Did they not get enough money out of me and now they want more? Now I am fighting with them just to get the wheel back as I had it shipped from Phoneix to Tucson. Kendra first said she would call the pick up and delivery guy, then she told me I had to call him. NuWheel has had my wheel for over 10 days and they do not return calls and only when I call do they give you the run around, do not deal with this company! Well... Lets see..... Brought in a "Repairable wheel" they said it would be done next week (7 days). I went back to pick it up 7 days later. With no reason not to expect it to be ready. And Now.... it is NOT Repairable???? I find it very unsettling that they could not have the professionalism to call so I could have made other arrangements. read more

This is my first review on Yelp. I normally will not bothered doing a review, but Joey at Nu wheel was just fantastic working on my BMW 550 rear wheel. He not only offered to work around my scheduled, but with BMW, their is no spare tire. Joey offer me a "loaner" wheel with a tire while he worked on refinishing my wheel so I would not be stranded. After installing my refinished wheel, I still had a leak. I called Joey, and he said to bring it back and will figured it out. Ended up that my tire had a nail puncture in addition to the original cracked wheel. He fixed my puncture for free. Outstanding service and very professional. read more

I was told I had a bent rim by Discount Tire and I was quoted a price for a new set. I decided to check with a specialist. Glad I did, there was not a bent rim, rather a small leak due to an embedded thorn. I was prepared to pay a quoted price and I would not have known if there was a bent rim, I was told there was no charge, WOW. I give great Kudos for honesty, great service and Nu Wheel gets them. overpriced for backyard work, don't deliver on promised timeframe. i took in a set of 4 alloy wheels that had some curb rash to be repaired and repainted. i was quoted 125 each wheel, and that it would take a week. i thought the timeframe and price were fair so i dropped them off. i did notice their hours of operation are monday through friday only, so automatically thought 7 business days. dropped them off on a monday, come wednesday the following week, no call, so towards the end of the day i pay them a visit confident the wheels are done, but they aren't. The woman at the counter tells me that they aren't even close to being ready and tells me she doesn't have a timeframe now. i decided to be back in a week, and when i did they still weren't ready, they were "ready for paint" and i was told they would "probably" be done the next day. the next day they actually call me to tell me they are done. i'm thinking Great! when i go and pick them up i couldn't believe my eyes. i think i could've done a better job at home in my backyard over a weekend. the wheels weren't even sanded, as the imperfections, holes and previous sanded work were still visible through the paint, and the clear gloss coat. then the clear coat was very uneven. the face of the wheels were ok at best, but in between the spokes i could tell that gloss had been very lightly applied if at all, i could see where the paint dulled out from lack of gloss, and i could feel the difference also when running my hand across the face of the wheel, and between the spokes where the finish was rough and gritty. i asked to have my money back but was convinced to have them work the wheels again, but was told it had to be on certain days. so installed tires and on the wheels and put them on my vehicle and tried to get over to their shop but never seemed to have time. now to much time has passed and i really do not want to deal with that shop ever again. overall i had a lousy experience, and would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone i know. stay away from this place, i don't understand how they are still in business considering their work quality and the lack of customer service especially by the woman, who seems to be burdened by the presence of paying customers. read more
