I'm Only rating the food. The location itself is very very small and it's hard to find sitting inside. It is not a place to patronize with large groups. Given that they are so small and the lunch time crowd I did not interact with the employees. I did not really need to except to place an order and get the order. The interaction was hurried but friendly. And the food was fast. What more could someone want really? I got the Buddah Box and a lemonade which they say is fresh. They gave me the lemonade right away and it was refreshing and delicious. It was tart with the right amount of sweetness. And it tasted Fresh! Definitely worth the price. The Buddah Box was also delicious. It is a box layered with brown rice and beans and grilled chicken. On top it has some sort of Asian slaw. And avocado and cilantro. I saw the pictures and immediately wanted to try it. I was not at all dissapointed. The cabbage slaw thing that it has on top was delicious. They put Asian dressing on top which tastes like sesame and soy. This dressing made the salad sweet and tangy. The rice did not have that much flavor. So it was really up to the dressing to give it flavor. The chicken was not that good. It comes in little cubes and It was cooked too much and was not juicy. So it was up to the slaw and avocado on top to flavor the ingredients at the bottom which means that mixing the whole thing is a must! The problem is that it is so hard to mix without making a mess. But if you do not mind the mess it is definitely worth having over and over again. (Maybe next time I'll do tofu) read more

Have always thought their food was great but today was very disappointed in the Buddha Bowls. Ordered two to go as our daughter was visiting. We all thought the chicken was tough & tasted old. My husband had the pastrami sandwich which was loaded with onions & peppers but had very little meat which was very fatty. Sorry to say this was the last time for us. read more

My friend and I visited the Churn Creek Wilda's after some of our friends recommended the Buddah Bowl. There was plenty of parking and I had my dog with me, so I loved the fact that they have two different outdoor seating areas, and both were shady. We both had the Buddah Bowl with falafel and were both disappointed. I love cabbage, rice and beans, and the sauce was tasty, but the falafel was undercooked and there was only a tiny amount (literally two small falafel balls in the entire MOUNTAIN of previously mentioned cheap ingredients). I complained (in a very respectful and polite way), and was told that if I wanted more falafel, it would cost me 75 cents per additional ball- No thanks, I already paid almost $20 for the two big piles/orders of mostly cabbage. SO that was disappointing and felt like a rip-off, since falafel was the highlighted ingredient and it is not expensive to make, so they were really skimping on it and it felt like they forgot to add the falafel when digging though all that cabbage, beans and rice... A real let down. But, the WORST thing about our experience at Wilda's on Churn Creek was the fact that when given a choice of "for here or to go", and we chose "for here", we were still served in disposable single-use non-recyclable boxes with single-use plastic "chorks" (chop stick forks), so that was a real bummer, in this current global crisis of wasteful over packaging and single-use plastics pollution- WHY is Wilda's using all disposable serving stuff? I guess they don't want to bother to get some real bowls and cutlery and a dish-washing set up. TOO BAD. We don't like living in a disposable culture. Paper and plastic cups, paper napkins- everything throw-away, nothing reused or recycled- THAT'S PATHETIC. Wilda's should NOT CALL IT A BUDDHA BOWL, because NO BOWL was involved! This is criminal false advertising. It was actually a "Buddha Disposable Single-Use Box", NOT a Buddha Bowl! Buddah Bummer. So not impressed. read more

By far the most interesting restaurant we've found in Northern California for a fast food type of lunch, in a shopping mall that one would expect was serving ho hum food. NOT the case here! Yes, it's in a shopping mall settling, has a limited menu that you order from..,but the food is exceptionally good and very modestly priced. We had a pastrami sandwich for one order and an unusually presented pint container with a fork that could be split into chopsticks and used to eat what was in the box (one like you get when taking Chinese food left overs home in). The box had a layer of brown rice, beans, meat and tofu, Asian dressing, sliced lettuce and cabbage and topped with a spicy sauce and celantro. Sounds strange? I assure you it's good! Loved this place! We were in Redding for a night and wanted something we could enjoy with the kids. The food was excellent and the portions were large. I got the Buddha Bowl and was able to customize it just the way I wanted. The veggies were good and fresh, and so was the chicken. I loved the dressing, too, and I thought the "chorks" - a combo of chopstick and fork - were really cool. Kids got hot dogs and were super pleased with their size and taste. I also have to note that the folks working there were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd give five stars alone for the great customer service. Parking was easy. It's in a mini mall surrounded by plenty of lots. Highly recommended. read more

This will be my last time coming here. After me and my employees supported this place from the time they opened on Court St to now they must have forgotten who has kept them in business...the customers! Came here with my family & my daughter got the 'Hot Mess' which should've let us know it was bad but nevertheless it was not good so my daughter returned it & asked for something you can't screw up; a hot dog. When it came out it was dried to a shrivel and wasn't good either. Not wanting to return their food again I simply asked for the difference in price back for the first thing my daughter got and the cheaper hot dog. Simple enough right? Absolutely not and the coward of a manager acted like I wanted a full refund? I asked for the $2 back for the difference??? Not to mention that I had to pay an extra 76 cents for some more sauce for my dry Buddha Bowl? Maybe they are struggling financially & have chosen to nickel and dime their customers to stay afloat but that's bad business & horrible customer service. WTF happened to this family run business? Yes, this Buddha bowl just made me happy, pure and simple. The dressing on the cabbage was tangy and not too sweet. Below that got real interesting... I ordered 1/2 spicy chicken and 1/2 falafel. Unfortunately the chicken was dry and not even a little spicy (this must have been a mistake?). The falafel was undercooked and wet in the middle and unfortunately only two small pieces but good enough to make me want another piece. Below this, I got excited again... The brown rice was just a little sweet and desert like. Almost like a tiny bit of simple syrup in there. In terms of mixing something with brown rice it was perfect. This place was wonderful start to finish! I came here with my kids on our trip from San Diego to Portland. They have a nice outdoor area which was perfect for us with our dog. The food was amazing! I had the Buddha bowl with half chicken, half falafel. It was so yummy! The dressing was delicious and the beans and rice were perfect! It had the perfect flavor combo of lemon and a hint of spice without being overwhelming. My kids both got plain dogs but they were amazing plain dogs served on super yummy rolls and the horseradish mustard is amazing! Sweet and spicy. We all shared an order of sweet potato fries with aioli sauce also amaze balls!! The grand total was $24.67! An amazing price for such an generous and delicious meal! I've headed numerous people talk about Wilda's and their Buddha bowls so I thought it would see what the hype was all about. I got there around 12:15pm on a Tuesday afternoon. There was a short line but it was moving very quickly. I believe the majority of the people in the restaurant were there for the bowls. I ordered the tofu bowl to go. There are beans, rice, tofu, avocado, shredded carrots and cabbage, and some "Asian" style sauce on top. I can see the appeal of Wilda's but I wasn't very impressed. The tofu was bland, the rice wasn't fluffy, and the sauce only saturated he top portion of the bowl. It was good for the price but other than that, I'm unsure if I would return for the Buddha bowls alone. read more

Horrible customer service since they moved to the Churn Creek location. Love their food, but had some of the worst customer service experiences there since they moved. The cashier who helped us was great. The owner was to blame in my opinion. The worst experience we had was when my husband called in and ordered food for us to pick up. We call at 11 am so we could beat the lunch rush. We told them we would be at their to pick it up at noon. We arrived at noon and were told they were having a hard time finding our ticket and needed us to replace the order. We replaced the order and waited another 30 min until we got our food. When I told the cashier that we had been waiting an hour and a half for food we had called in for she was very apologetic and said they could compensate us for our trouble. When she went to the back to get comp tickets she came back saying that there wasn't a time stamp on our lunch ticket (the lunch ticket they lost) so they were not liable for the food coming out late. I was shocked and asked to speak with the manager. The girl went to the back and when she came back informed us that the owner was too busy to talk to us. WORST experience EVER!!! I'm totally ok with businesses messing up. It's bound to happen. It's how you compensate customers when those things happen that counts and this experience made me never want to go back to this business which is sad because I like their food. Large dogs that are smothered in just about anything...I like the Wilda's sweet mustard and relish, give it a try! Hubby goes for the legendary Buddha Bowl every time and has yet to finish it. The fries are also excellent and you a get a huge portion so be prepared to share. Seating seems to be pretty adequate for the lunchtime crowds as there are a fair number of to go order folks hanging around for their orders, and there is outside covered and shaded seating as well.
