Only complaint was that the building was too cold everyone had there winter jackets still on. Wouldn't recommend the calamari the sauces were just okay and they amount given is not worth it. Decided on a date night here on Sunday rainy afternoon and my bride picked this establishment because she wanted some Chinese...well it's Asian fusion really but hey I was game since I hadn't had good sushi or sashimi for quite a while. So here we go.... Ambiance: Nice, not quite upscale but close. Tip - sit in the lounge (we didn't) but I should have chosen to after being sat in the regular main room. Traditional oriental / Asian decor and looked clean. Tables were basic and not super comfortable but hey we were here to eat not lounge right? Service: Greeted right as we walked in and we're asked if we wanted lounge or main room - as I said opt for the lounge. Our waiter came right over and got drinks started without hesitation and was friendly and courteous. Food: Sushi and sashimi platter was good but too much food - must have ingested over 200g of protein in one sitting and probably that in carbs as well but it was good and fresh. Wife had the Mongolian beef (her favorite) and she said it was actually better then most other places (including Changs which for her that means it was really good because she thinks changs is the best - she's not a Yelp elite though - hahahahaha) Price: Average for the plates - nothing too high and nothing too cheap. You'll. Pay $34 for the platter and $14 for the Mongolian beef - with a. Few drinks we were out for $70 which for a date night isn't terrible. Summary: Great place for either a quick pick up or a sit down date night - if you want fancy this is jot it - if you want causal or a bit dressier (a dress and / or jeans and a polo) then your fine. I have been in Nashville for about a week and have been quite disappointed with the food...until I ate here Ordered Mee Goreng which is comparable to Pad Thai with thicker noodles...got it with shrimp and have to say it was the best thing I've had in Nashville by far. They have an extensive drink menu. I had the Meiomi Pinot Noir. My friends had the black cherry lemon drop and the kitty cat cocktail. I didn't try either but they both loved them. We ordered so much food as it was my friend's birthday celebration. Everything we had was delicious, and we devoured it all. I love their Pink Lady, ahi, avocado, mango, and crunch. For a bit of kick, get the Mexican avocado, cucumber, jalapeno, tuna, yellowtail, cilantro, dusted with crunchy, served with salsa Picante. Then you need to get the Fantasy with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and avocado. Then we had a spicy tuna and a fresh Salamon roll. I was told this place is the best in Franklin for sushi/sashimi. I walked in to a pasty looking host and he sat me in the lounge after I ask if they had a sushi bar. No one was in there. I got my briefcase sized menu, walked back to the host and pointed to the dining area. There I sat up aganst a full length of glass staring out at Large Koi Pond. The waiter came immediately to take the sashimi and Dynamite Shrimp order. He brought my sashimi plate with fresh salmon and yellowtail arranged nicely except the sashimi was nigeri cuts. After the second one flapping around on my chop sticks my cooked shrimp dish arrived. This place is faster than McDonald's, I thought. I am into a more traditional sushi experience: everything fresh and the cook food delivered after the sashimi- the smell of cooked tempora shrimp overwhelms and interferes with the delicate flavors of raw fish. I asked for the manager when I noticed lots of dried up pieces of shredded diakon. He promply showed up with the same green bow tie and green shirt as he had on when he brought the cooked shrimp dish in all the same fanfare. I showed him pictures I looked up to show him the difference between nigeri vs sashimi cuts. He said it wasn't from their menu and started to explain the difference; I realized this was not going to go anywhere so I thanked him. The waiter never came back to check on me but brought me a check for the over-priced nigeri and excellent shrimp tempora. As I finished my lunch, I looked out over the Koi pond. There were no Koi fish so I left. As I got closer to the front door I pass by the pasty host one last time. I ask, why do you have a Koi pond with no Koi in it? He replies, they wouldn't survive the winter. I said, Yes they would, they are cold blooded. I wished him a great weekend and I walked out the door. As I pulled out the parking lot, I was convinced I experienced the closest thing to extremely tacky service as I had ever come. read more

Split decision on this one! I ordered $70 of mixed sushi, my wife had chicken Pad Thai $30, appetizer $20, tip $30. This IS NOT a sushi restaurant, it's a Thai restaurant. The sushi rice was horrific - over cooked gummy mush. I eat sushi 3-5 times a week, and this wasn't good. There - I got the ugly out of the way. I had the sea bass which was very good but was still kind of hungry so I ate off my friend dish, stealing 2 sea scallops for a little bit of my sea bass, LOL! Stopped her for dinner after dropping my car off as every time we one to the dealership we say that we need to try this place. Years ago had some great meals in this restaurant. After the last time, I'll never go back. I asked for gluten free sushi (which should be very easy to do). The server said most of their sushi can't be GF because.... gasp... it's "pre mixed". Yuck. Gross. Nasty. That goes against all that sushi is supposed to be. He then recommended a roll that was so bad 2 of us spit it out. PS - for GF sushi experience, use Tamari, not soy sauce with wheat. Most places have this option for serving and dipping. read more

Super fresh fish with good portions, but disappointed with the lack of depth of the types of fish, was dominated by salmon and tuna both nigiri and sashimi. Been here twice now, and I'd venture to say it's now our favorite restaurant in Cool Springs. The service has been incredible, with friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff, who have recommended some great dishes. The food has been delicious every time. The first time we went, we sat outside (in perfect weather) and had a relaxed evening while a band played at the perfect ambiance volume. (Can you tell I'm in my late 30s?) I dined at Wild Ginger on Saturday, November 7, 2020 for lunch at around noon. Indoor dining area was clean and they did enforce social distancing during COVID-19 pandemic. Good job. Menu had several specialty sushi items with very interesting names. I saw that the Sakura was a popular choice on Yelp, so decided to order it. The Sakura was roll was unique and something I never had before with its pink rice. The sushi is definitely bigger than your normal sushi roll. The flavor was good and the plating was pretty. The Indigo tower was disappointing. It was bland and was very lacking in flavor compared to the other sushi roll that I ordered. The Wild Ginger Fried rice was really good and seasoned well. The tamarind shrimp was okay but a little too sweet for my palate. Service was friendly and attentive. Given the quality and portion of the food and the service, I think the price value is a little expensive. I would return once in a while for a special dinner celebration or a date. read more

I wouldn't go back to this viper den if it was the last restaurant in town. My wife and I went there for a belated Valentine's Day dinner...made reservations days ahead of time. The food was mediocre...at best. Bland basic edamame was over $10! For like 20 little beans with salt on them! That's $.50 a bean! But the worst was that we had our little one year old child with us and they didn't have a high chair! We had to keep asking and they said they'd look for one and for over an hour and a half we had to have and feed our one year old on our lap! We talked to the manager and he was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered! He said it wasn't their fault and that they only have 4 high chairs for a restaurant with 200 chairs! Are you kidding me? This is Franklin! There are many families that could use all four on their own! He said his name is Lefterrace Tsavaris. I'd fire him in a heartbeat if he was working for me.
