I've never reviewed this place before and I'm not one to usually only review when I have something negative to say. I've been eating here for about 10 years and always thought the food was pretty damn good. However, today's meal was unfortunately pretty damn bad. I've made better Thai curry at home from a can of paste (they're actually really good!) and I made a bangin Japanese beef curry this week, but I digress. The curry sauce was like soup and didn't have much of a flavor. I tried to get a picture that shows it dripping off my fork like water. The roti canai was also pretty flavorless and not flaky and layered at all and the curry that came with it was just an extremely watered down peanut sauce I think, definitely not the delicious curry that it should come with. Hope this was just an off day. This was a takeout experience but when I've eaten there it's always pretty quiet, perhaps too quiet if business is slipping. Service has always been very attentive and it's dimly lit in a way that I enjoy, not dark but peaceful. I'm also adding photos of a previous good meal I had here. Get it back together, WG.

    Very impressed with this restaurant.

Ok......Wild Ginger....was....W-O-W! Discovered it, as we were strolling through Maplewood's Marketspace Vendor Event. The restaurant is nicely decorated and we asked to be seated outside, which was perfect, with today's weather. The service was magnificent, appreciated, and commendable. My beverage selection, Thai Iced Tea, was refreshing and served in a cool glass. Our entrees were oh, so good: Chicken Pad Thai and Papaya Salad. I also ordered the Thai Fried Rice (spicy fried brown rice, egg, onions, basil, peppers, and seasonal vegetables). This Thai Fried Rice is one of the best I've ever tasted. The spiciness of the dish was delectable and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I will, most definitely, place Wild Ginger on my "best" list and will gladly return.

Five stars for the food. 4.5 for service. Start with the food. By far the best Thai food I've ever had. And will absolutely be returning back for more. Ordered an appetizer to split. Had dumplings and they were the star of the show. The peanut sauce was fantastic. Almost ordered a second dish. Down fall, they didn't serve it with side plates so you were stuck bobbing over one plate in the center. Think the appetizers should be served with side dishes, especially if it's being split. My boyfriend had Pad Thai and I had Pad See Ew. Both fantastic. Very fresh and very full of flavor. The chicken in my dish was excellent. Better than any places I've gotten it from. The entire plates were cleared. That speaks for how good it all was. Downside to this, they served one plate at the time and the other person had to wait for a few minutes. I noticed this for all the tables. Think it would be better if they served them together.

Ugh- green curry should not look like green eggs and ham! They clearly added green dye. The spring rolls lacked crispness and noodles were not spicy enough. This one is done, for my house!

Service is fast and pretty good so is the food. I ordered their veggie spring rolls which were perfect. They were just right, their crispy beef was good too however a little tweaking is needed (if you check out Marion Grasby's crispy beef recipe on YouTube and try that it'll take it up a notch). The crispy beef has to be somewhat spicy, and a bit more on the dry side, crispy on the edges and slightly chewy in the center and not overly sweet just a hint of sweetness and somewhat spicy. Even though I liked it, it was more on the sweet side and could be less sweet to bring out the actual flavor. Their rice pudding was excellent - something different and I enjoyed the green tea. Cute spot and not very crowded on a Friday evening.

Was craving Thai food for my birthday so we decided to try Wild Ginger for the first time despite it being more expensive. Never again. Let's just say I'm happy I didn't get food poisoning. They charged us the same amount for the papaya salad without the chicken as with which was silly and it was horrible. One bite and we put it back in its container. It was bland, no taste and tasted like it had been sitting out on the countertop for a while. The green curry with tofu smelled a little funny and there was hardly any curry (as you can see) most of it was broccoli and string beans. The tofu had probably gone bad because it smelled funny. The basil with chicken was bland and no taste. All in all, would not recommend. Save your money.

Haven't been here in a while but still the same as before . I like coming here for lunch. The lunch menu is pretty good! I like the yellow curry chicken with brown rice and Tom Kha soup and the coconut water .

I ordered Pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp. First of all, I want to advice to not go to this place if you are a real foodie. The food was not good at all. First, both of the dishes we ordered were overly seasoned. Secondly, they do not cook the pineapple fried rice on the condiments, instead, they cook the rice on its own (white rice) then they pour a TON of turmeric that I can literally pass my finger to pick up the powder. The chicken came in thin strips, I say, wtf is that? My partner ordered the Drunken noodles and when we came home that sh*t literally sent her to the bathroom. Lastly, the decoration inside was very morbid because it's all wood paneling that makes you feel you are in a cascade. There was no decoration at all. The drop ceiling had some stains and very dim lighting. The place was just sad.

Usually good, but recently their pad thai has been flavorless and nasty. Hubby loves the Basil Thai Fried Rice though.

This is a nice quiet spot, nice atmosphere, great service from the waitress. I started off with the chicken dumplings, probably the lowest rating food I had. I'll give it about a three and a half, that's because it was a little too wet. The chicken was solely in the middle, so there's a lot of dumpling, not a lot of chicken, i did enjoy the peanut sauce. Then I had some sambal sauce, vegetables, chicken and white rice on the side. Now that was really, really good. Nice and spicy, a great mix of vegetables, very fresh, very filling, super surprised by that. This establishment honestly deserves to be a lot more crowded than it actually was. It was very empty in there, I was the only table in there. But overall, just great service. In addition to that, I was also able to spin a wheel for spending over 60 bucks and got myself a free drink the next time. Highly recommended, pop out if you're in the area. Great overall. .5

The vegetables are always fresh, the curries and food are consistently DELISH, the portions are the perfect size, and their brown rice is the best I've ever had -- not the typical flavorless brown long-grain rice, it's dark brown, hearty, and yummy. My favorite dish is their Thai red curry with tofu, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu! My mom Sonia and our family are huge fans and always stop by when we're around. Kevin, the owner, is so friendly and always makes time to greet us and those who pick up food. We will forever and always be back. Highly recommend checking them out.

My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.
