Buddha Delight with fried rice
Kimberly C.

This was a Mother's Day celebration for our group of 5. We had a reservation and no wait for seating. The server was very friendly; service was a little on the slower side, which made sense given the holiday. I had the Buddha's Delight, minus carrot and broccoli- just had them add extra of the other veggies. It was DELICIOUS! We had crab Rangoons for the table to share and they were probably some of my favorite ones I've had. Even thought it was quite busy, the noise level wasn't terrible. It's a great place for casual meals or that special someone date night. Very clean place and fresh tasting food. I'll be back!

The sushi at wild ginger was pretty good. I loved it. The ambiance was dimly lit and I thought it felt kind of cold... I'm not really a fan of dark restaurants, it makes you wonder what they're trying to hide? I gave 3 stars because the service was lacking... it didn't even look that busy... I think I waited like 15 minutes for a server to notice that I was ready for the check... Street parking, I'm not sure if I missed the entrance to the lot... I don't think I would go out of my way to visit this place... only if it were convenient.

Loved the sashimi, fish selection is fresh and very tasty. Crab Rangoon was warm and delicious. Service was friendly. Would go back to try other things though it is a little on the pricey side

One of Best Thai in Hyde Park. Firstly, it's noticeably clean, which always makes me feel better about dining out when I can tell a restaurant is serious about cleanliness. The service was excellent--each staff member was attentive and polite. I had a Thai tea that was extremely refreshing on a hot day, perfectly sweet. Our appetizers were the Vegi spring rolls and Wild Ginger salad, both vegetarian but still very flavorful and hearty. I had the red curry with chicken, which was phenomenal. It was a very tolerable spicy red curry that paired well with the chicken and vegetables in the dish. I really loved my experience at WG, and I am looking forward to coming here again!

Pad Thai. Lots of chicken. Not much flavor.

We frequent the area a lot and always smell the Asian spices as we pass. I decided to finally try this out and my go-to is always pad thai. If it's right, then a lot of other dishes will likely be the same. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered for carry out. I parked right in front which probably never happens for frequent guests, but it was right after 5pm rush hour on a weeknight. The bean sprouts were very fresh and crunchy, which I love, love, love, but there was way too much meat, not enough tahini flavor and not enough vegetables/color. For $16 the portion was a bit short as well as the container was shallow compared to other places we go for pickup. I'll give them 4 stars for efficiency. 2 stars for flavor. 2 stars for parking. 2 stars for ambiance. I hear the back is a little romantic, but I didn't venture to see for myself. I'm not too thrilled about finding out unless I stumble across photos of it.

We were looking for a local place near Xavier University, and Wild Ginger popped up as a suggestion. Good choice! We were sat in the bar area, which gave us a view of the street, which was entertaining. They do have hibachi and regular tables. The bartender was also our waitress. She was on her third day there, but she did a good job. We started with green gyoza, which was very good. I had the ginger stir fry with chicken. It was excellent. My wife, a vegan, had the drunken noodles with fried tofu. It was also excellent. They have a lot of choices, so we will be back to try more.

I really liked this place but, today was disappointing. We Sat at the bar and waited for 20 min (while the bartender was behind the bar). She didn't even acknowledge us. She was unpleasant and seemed extremely irritated, like she was annoyed to even wait on us. Then, she proceeds to tell me that (the spot I'm sitting in..that is at the bar)isn't a guest seat and dirty dishes, etc will be put in front of me. So I move to another seat at the bar. We then had appetizers. I stacked our dirty dishes (trying to help her bc she seemed overwhelmed and annoyed) thinking we would receive new dishes for our meal. Instead she pushed our stacked, dirty dishes back to us, to reuse . Our food was ok. Not great. Half our food didn't even come out so we had to get it to go. Super disappointed in the service mostly. We felt like an inconvenience the whole time, along with everyone else at the bar.

Chicken, Steak, Lobster Hibachi

Great Hibachi at a quality price and a fun chef to boot. My sister picked this place for her Bday and it its our new favorite Hibachi. Reservations were simple to make and we were quickly seated. Our servers were kind and attentive, from seat to first food was maybe 20 minutes. We ordered a variety of plates and everything was large portions and good quality with many of us having left overs. The chef was a lot of fun with the normal jokes and theatrics plus a mindful eye to not mess with people who don't want to play along. Drinks were good and they even let us bring in our own dessert. This is my go to Hibachi from now on.

I order from here at least once a month. Pho is delightful and sushi is always fresh. Love the staff and how easy it is to pickup.

Well expected more but the food was little bland. May be 3.5 but Fam definitely says 3. Very busy place during covid.

It was an interesting experience, from trying to make reservations to actually find hidden this…read moregem of a restaurant . My husband set an alarm for 5:58am to get ready to go to the site and try to get reservations for 7pm Saturday night. However, in the couple of seconds it took him to figure out how the reservation site worked, all 8 spots for the 7pm time slot were taken. 5pm was not our preference so he got lucky to get 2 spots at 9pm. Yay. All the sashimi was very tasty and super fresh. The range of flavors varied from creamy tuna taste to some fishy sardines. My favorite, a fish I never tried before, is Jackass - very delicious. Btw it was our first Omakase experience ever, and we look forward to trying more of these places in the future. With only 8 spots per seating, I really enjoyed the intimate ambiance, of talking with the chief and hearing him explain each dish.

I've never been to Japan...but I came here with my wife who has been and she felt this was the best…read moresushi she's had outside of Japan; which is quite a testament for a landlocked midwest city! They are reservation only and it can be a challenge to get a reservation, so make sure you check their Instagram to figure out when they become available. We came here for a dinner reservation. For the vibes, they have 8 seats and sell out basically every single reservation. There were 2 people making the sushi and they were both super friendly and made great conversation. Each bite was carefully crafted and came with a thorough explanation of the individual parts and how they fit together. I don't think my words will do enough to explain each bite, but check out the pictures if you are interested. They have a few beers, cocktails, sake, and whiskey if you are interested in a drink to go with your meal. Overall, worth a visit for an excellent omakase experience!
