The sushi at wild ginger was pretty good. I loved it. The ambiance was dimly lit and I thought it felt kind of cold... I'm not really a fan of dark restaurants, it makes you wonder what they're trying to hide? I gave 3 stars because the service was lacking... it didn't even look that busy... I think I waited like 15 minutes for a server to notice that I was ready for the check... Street parking, I'm not sure if I missed the entrance to the lot... I don't think I would go out of my way to visit this place... only if it were convenient.

Loved the sashimi, fish selection is fresh and very tasty. Crab Rangoon was warm and delicious. Service was friendly. Would go back to try other things though it is a little on the pricey side

One of Best Thai in Hyde Park. Firstly, it's noticeably clean, which always makes me feel better about dining out when I can tell a restaurant is serious about cleanliness. The service was excellent--each staff member was attentive and polite. I had a Thai tea that was extremely refreshing on a hot day, perfectly sweet. Our appetizers were the Vegi spring rolls and Wild Ginger salad, both vegetarian but still very flavorful and hearty. I had the red curry with chicken, which was phenomenal. It was a very tolerable spicy red curry that paired well with the chicken and vegetables in the dish. I really loved my experience at WG, and I am looking forward to coming here again!

I went with my friend two weeks ago and it was really great! Service was awesome and super friendly. We had really good sushi, miso soup and martinis. The ambiance was really good and the area was really nice

I really liked this place but, today was disappointing. We Sat at the bar and waited for 20 min (while the bartender was behind the bar). She didn't even acknowledge us. She was unpleasant and seemed extremely irritated, like she was annoyed to even wait on us. Then, she proceeds to tell me that (the spot I'm sitting in..that is at the bar)isn't a guest seat and dirty dishes, etc will be put in front of me. So I move to another seat at the bar. We then had appetizers. I stacked our dirty dishes (trying to help her bc she seemed overwhelmed and annoyed) thinking we would receive new dishes for our meal. Instead she pushed our stacked, dirty dishes back to us, to reuse . Our food was ok. Not great. Half our food didn't even come out so we had to get it to go. Super disappointed in the service mostly. We felt like an inconvenience the whole time, along with everyone else at the bar.

We were looking for a local place near Xavier University, and Wild Ginger popped up as a suggestion. Good choice! We were sat in the bar area, which gave us a view of the street, which was entertaining. They do have hibachi and regular tables. The bartender was also our waitress. She was on her third day there, but she did a good job. We started with green gyoza, which was very good. I had the ginger stir fry with chicken. It was excellent. My wife, a vegan, had the drunken noodles with fried tofu. It was also excellent. They have a lot of choices, so we will be back to try more.

Pad Thai. Lots of chicken. Not much flavor.

We frequent the area a lot and always smell the Asian spices as we pass. I decided to finally try this out and my go-to is always pad thai. If it's right, then a lot of other dishes will likely be the same. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered for carry out. I parked right in front which probably never happens for frequent guests, but it was right after 5pm rush hour on a weeknight. The bean sprouts were very fresh and crunchy, which I love, love, love, but there was way too much meat, not enough tahini flavor and not enough vegetables/color. For $16 the portion was a bit short as well as the container was shallow compared to other places we go for pickup. I'll give them 4 stars for efficiency. 2 stars for flavor. 2 stars for parking. 2 stars for ambiance. I hear the back is a little romantic, but I didn't venture to see for myself. I'm not too thrilled about finding out unless I stumble across photos of it.

My daughter ordered the small "create your own bowl" -- chicken (this is marinated and diced pieces) over white rice. You can also choose between 1 to 4 hot toppings AND 1 to 6 cold + choice of sauce on the side. My daughter chose NO toppings because she had just had a GI procedure and wasn't feeling terrific. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a snickerdoodle cookie (both GF and DF) as a sweet treat for her. She said the food was very tasty (didn't need the side sauce)! More importantly (for her), it was benign enough that it didn't cause any GI strife. I had the original size bowl with purple rice, tofu (marinated), broccoli, and curried chick peas. It was delicious! For it to be "fast food" it was also very healthy. I didn't need the side sauce either. I ordered online and had it delivered. Fast, efficient and kept me informed every step of the way. I highly recommend them!

I got two salmon rolls, crab rangoons, gyoza, and a poke bowl of sorts. It was a lot of food, but again leftovers were crucial. The food came quick and hot. The crab rangoons were delicious and the wontons were so crispy. Their rolls are pretty good, nothing amazing but still taste great. The gyoza is always super good and it comes with a sweet sauce instead of just soy sauce which I love. They were hot and perfectly cooked. Lastly I had the poke bowl. I usually get the same thing, salmon with cucumbers and carrots or onions. I always get it cold with white rice and some variations of sauces. It is a very big portion which I always save for the next day. It is very good, the only thing I wish was different is if they cut their vegetables into smaller pieces, they are very long and hard to eat sometimes. I did find the young lady working the orders to be unfriendly and unhelpful and could not muster a smile when spoken to or smiled at. Like having a paying job was ruining her day. I tried in vain to find out from her what the toppings were because I couldn't see them well. They weren't full - maybe from a dinner rush - and I couldn't see what was in most containers. Because of that I only ended up putting two toppings on my rice and salmon. I gave up. My husband ordered a Spicy Tuna Roll and I ordered a bowl with Grilled Salmon. We also ordered the Crab Rangoon appetizer. My husband said the Spicy Tuna Roll was pretty good. Not great quality, of course, but better than grocery store sushi. My salmon was dry and overcooked but had good flavor. The Crab Rangoon was fried properly and tasted good. We didn't detect much crab flavor or see anything other than cream cheese inside. Overall - the food is ok and the service isn't.

We ordered and were pretty quickly delivered our mains: How Fun noodles (level 2 spice) with chicken and Pepper Beef (level 3 spice). Both were outstanding! The sauces on both were savory and delicious. The noodles were great - not slimy like they can sometimes be but firm yet delicate. The chicken was tasty. The pepper beef was tangy and tender with a nice balance of peppers and onions. Serving sizes big enough for lunch the next day. Vibrant decor made the place really feel alive and servers were friendly and efficient. First off, the place has a fun and playful vibe with the kung fu theme, especially when you're greeted by a Shaolin Soccer poster. The service is also A+! Extremely friendly and attentive. The portions are also generous. However......... my tastebuds are baffled. We ordered a hot and sour soup as our starter and it was extremely sweet. It was basically hot sugar soup. If we hadn't put our full order in at the same time as the app, we probably would've paid after the soup and left then. However, we did order and got the szechuan beef, general chu's sesame chicken, and the how fun noodles which we were all okay. Not memorable. I'm leaving one star because the staff and atmosphere were great. I've never been compelled to write a bad review, but I could not get past the sugary hot and sour soup. For $55, I'd really expect more flavor than just sugar and chili oil for all of the dishes.

Though Mark loves spicy food, he avoided the chili peppers because heat for heat's sake, rather than flavor, is not a taste sensation. One of our friends had the Thai Peanut Salad.
