They didn't apologize or greet us and told us to sit at the bar if we are here for happy hour, which we did. Customer service was not top notch here! Happy hour menu is great. Good variety and reasonably priced. Their wings looked great even though I don't eat meat but others with me were bragging about it. Their Phad Thai veggie option with fried tofu was delish. Tofu was perfectly fried with the right amount of seasoning. So flavorful I was tempted to order just friend tofu for myself. Second and third time here for lunch, very bad service, and it could be they were understaffed probably but the wait time to get seated, to order lunch and to get your lunch was a time consuming process. Passed by this place a hundred times and have never come in. Finally decided to give it a shot. Staff was friendly. We sat at the bar and it took probably more that 10 minutes for the bartender to finally acknowledge us. Drinks took probably slightly longer than that. Drinks took forever, for a beer and house cocktail. We watched people come and go around us in the bar area that got served food faster than us even though they arrived after us. Took forever for appetizers to come and what seemed like an eternity for entrees. Potstickers were just ok. Chicken satay was not good, like at all. The chicken tasted like curry (which would have been ok if I ordered curry skewers). The peanut sauce was this clumpy broken congealed goop that didn't even taste like peanut. The pad Thai was decent. My husband's beef dish was, was not good. We decided to not order dessert and cut our losses. Overall, I would say for the location and expectations of diners in the area, there's probably a reason why no one has ever said "you gotta try this place" and a reason why we probably never have. The service was decent but the main reason I'm leaving a review is because of how absolutely awful and disgusting the bathrooms were. I've been to truck stop bathrooms that were cleaner than this place. If a restaurant leaves FOUR bathrooms in such an unclean state, imagine what the kitchen looks like where they are preparing the food! Water was all over in all the bathrooms. One had a faucet leaking with a wash cloth soaking up the water, which it wasn't working and proceeded to leak all over. There was urine all over all toilet seats and paper towels all over the floors. I selected one that was the least "damaged" but even then, there was urine all over the walls. We ordered the pork skewers and they were so fatty and gristled, we sent them back. Then we ordered the chicken skewers and they were also fatty and not edible. We've nommed here a handful of times now and while I hate the parking situation in Bell Square, I love me some gf Thai food and that siren call is enough to pull me into downtown Bell. Luckily the parking can be easily circumvented if you park in the nearby underground parking structure and Wild Ginger will validate your parking. The atmosphere and elegant design of this restaurant does justice to the posh downtown Bellevue scene. The modern asian design interior is set with matte black backgrounds, natural wood, and black and gold decorative lighting to create a cohesive upscale ambiance. The service is also beyond reproach with professional attentive servers that are more than well educated when it comes to gluten free preparation and the ingredients in the food they serve. I've been here for private intimate dinners and large business events and regardless, there is always a server coming and whispering in my ear on what I can and cannot safely have.. Just. Love. That. Many of the items on their menu either are naturally gluten free or can be made gf. Some of my favorites have been their chicken wings and lettuce cups for appetizers and their seabass and tuna for the entrees. During our large business dinners I know that they have altered several non-labeled gf menu items that they've made especially for me and I love that they always made sure I had a gf dessert to finish off the amazing night. Talk about a great place to celebrate your loved ones!! I have tried almost every restaurant in downtown Bellevue and wanted to try somewhere new! My family went to Wild Ginger to celebrate my dads birthday and the food and drinks were amazing! Our waiter was extremely helpful with the menu and offered a lot of options that can be customized due to my mushroom allergy. It was not too busy on a Tuesday night and loved that the service was quick and easy! Where do I start about our disastrous evening?!? We had good expectations when we reserved Wild Ginger for a Friday evening to celebrate a friend's birthday who was craving some Asian food. The place was packed when we showed up. We were showed to our table in the back. We ordered alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, which the group agreed were all good. We ordered Malay chicken, Thai Spring Rolls (2), Chicken potstickers for appetizers. They were all ok. I completely understand restaurants are cutting corners, increasing prices and decreasing portions. But Wild Ginger has taken this to new levels. The Malay Chicken was basically three cubes of chicken which were sliced thin and divided into 6 skewers. It had some promise, but what a shame to shortchange your customers. My vegetarian friends ordered the Green Papaya Salad to share between them. They clearly requested for no fish sauce. But the dish did smell fishy and they sent the dish back without being able to eat it. The kitchen made another bowl, it still was inedible for them. It didn't taste right. It was sent back again. For our entrees we ordered - -- Sayur Lodeh --Thai Passion Tofu -- Chicken Mongolian Noodles -- Tofu Mongolian Noodles -- Chicken Pad Thai -- Thai seafood noodles. The Sayur Lodeh was the only saving Grace and thankfully the vegetarians were able to enjoy it. The rest was all over seasoned and on the salty side. The salt pretty much ruined our dinner. We couldn't even finish half our entrees. Having being charged extra for the tofu, I was literally searching for the tofu in my dish. Our server was really hustling, but forgot to bring us a couple things. We didn't want to trouble her further for the kitchen blunders. The cocktails here are very good, specially the spicy margarita and the yuzu drink. Apps we got potstickers, waygu skewers and wings. The wings were the highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside! Skewers and potstickers average. We did family style for dinner, scallops 3/5; salty and not that tasty. Duck 3.5/5 duck was on the drier side but buns started soft, but after a few minutes turned hard, were they microwaved? Stir fried beef, did not taste but others said meat was tender. Papaya salad, was refreshing, but not as tart as traditional thai restaurant recipes. The bass was one of the better dishes, perfectly cooked. String beans were crispy too. All in all a solid 3.5 for food, 4.5 for drinks and 5 for service. Very busy for a Monday evening so they are doing something right! Definitely recommend for casual business dinner. read more

This review is for their happy hour (3-6pm daily and late night 9pm-close). For food I ordered the tofu pad Thai ($6) and the Vietnamese chicken wings ($8). I noticed that the tofu pad Thai used vermicelli noodles rather than rice noodles. It was different from other pad Thais that I've had previously, but either way it was still pretty good. For the Vietnamese chicken wings, it isn't as saucy which makes it feel like plain chicken wings but there is some sauce on the bottom of the plate which tastes like a fish-sauce based sauce. With the sauce it tasted good but otherwise it was really bland and plain. For drinks I got the ginger old fashioned ($7) and the lychee cooler ($7). The ginger old fashioned was decent and not as ginger-flavored as I expected which was nice. I'm always a little hesitant about ordering drinks with ginger in it because it tends to overpower everything else. It's actually on the sweeter side and more carbonated because of the tonic water. The lychee cooler was light and refreshing! There was a good amount of lychee flavor but also a lot of carbonation from the soda (that seems to be a theme). It tasted a little bland to me but my taste buds are completely screwed so take it as you will. Overall both the food and the drinks were good. I just felt portion size was not enough. Thai Curry 3/5 Meh! Very overpowering lemon grass flavour and the tofu was over cooked (tasted a bit like rubber). Also, it doesn't come with rice we had to order it separately. Pad Thai 3/4 I felt it was not authentic. Didn't had any peanuts or veggies. I have had better pad Thai at other Thai restaurants. The scallops were also good, cooked perfectly such that not too much of it tore away when eating it. The dish itself was filled with scallops, making it more worth the price. The seven flavor beef was not good. The vegetables inside added nothing to the meal. The dish was one-toned, one-flavor. And the beef was overcooked. The lamp chops were cooked well, although I prefer mine more rare. However, there was not a good balance of sauce to meat as in there was way too much sauce on it. In addition, some areas of the lamp chops were burnt, so I tasted more char than the meat or flavoring. The chicken salad was okay, but the dish was drowned in the dressing. The mango palmer was okay, but not to my liking. I didn't taste a lot of mango and I didn't like the flavor that I did get. The free birthday dessert was alright. It was a chocolate cake with coconut ice cream. The cake was very heavy and dense and the ice cream helped to alleviate the weight. But it would not be something I would order. The service could have been seen as too frequent, but they were all light-hearted, helpful, and quick. They were very friendly and seemed to enjoy working there. My gf is obsessed with their ice cream that they get from olympic mountain creamery. They have the best ice cream's flavors that you really cant find in a store. The service is always pretty good and the ambience is nice. It is a little bit darker and sometimes can be difficult to read your menu if you don't have glasses and depending on where your sitting. It can get loud too when its pretty busy so keep that in mind if you're thinking of a intimate date night. It can be a lively place with a lot of people dining for dinner time. I've been to Wild Ginger's previous location at the Bravern for work conferences. But this is my first time at the new Lincoln Square South Tower location and I'm pretty pleased since parking is easier than at Bravern. The only downside is having to walk outside of the building to get to the restaurant on a rainy day. I made reservations for 4 people (double date dinner) and it was fairly busy inside. There's a bar area as soon as you walk into the lobby and straight ahead you will find a long dining hall with booth seats and tables along the center We were greeted by a wonderful waiter that introduced a few specials of the night. 2 of which, we ordered: Chicken Curry Manada (chicken in coconut milk & turmeric) and a spicy Thai Style Crispy Catfish. I have to say, I still drool thinking about the Catfish so if you get the chance to try it during the season- you definitely should!! Also ordered during dinner is the Black Pepper Scallops.
