This place knows what they are doing in the pastry world! Whoever the pastry chef is I commend you! Being that I was so skeptical at first, I sat down and was pleasantly impressed. We went for breakfast and everyone ordered something different which is good because you can all try each other's. The quiche is on point, the orange pecan sticky bun is sweet, but so tasty. The galette was pretty good, if you love carrot cake try theirs out, just know it's pretty big but it should be! The coffee is a tad acidic I think the roaster may have slightly burnt the beans... The coffee is delicious as well, though they do not have coffee drinks like lattes. Alas, the makers of the tv series Yellowstone would be thrilled that there is no artisan coffee there! A highlight of Bozeman. Can't say enough good things. I've eaten so many turkey sandwiches on a demi baguette that I wouldn't dare to count, and will eat them as long as they keep making them. I've sampled just about all they have to eat over the years. Some go-to favorites: gorgonzola walnut bread, classic baguette, ham & gruyere croissant, plain croissant, carrot cake, huckleberry scone, shortbread cookie of the day, citrus tart (lemon, key lime, it's all amazing). All that said, you really can't make a bad choice. If it looks good, it's gonna taste just as good if not better. They do tend to run out of many of the fresh baked bread loaves by lunch time, so if that's what you're after or you want the full range of options, go early. My only criticism is that the macarons are never very flavorful (they just taste sweet instead of whatever flavor they are supposed to be), but are a nice texture. Fink's opening next door (connected via one of the sisters, I think) was such a smart move and a great achievement for this local business. I recently moved to San Francisco and this is one of the places I miss most about Bozeman. I know they say I'll find something comparable, but I just haven't yet. read more

This bakery came highly recommended to me as a must-visit while I am in Bozeman, and for good reason! Walking in I was greeted by the lovely smell of baked goodies and a display of sweet and savory, light and dense baked goods. They have various types of breads, croissants, cookies, bars, cake, tarts and coffee and tea. No espresso machine for milk drinks though. I ordered the almost croissant and a cup of water (coming off an overnight shift and ready go home to sleep). This is the best. Croissant. Ever. The outer layer is crisp to the point of being crunchy, while the inside fluff is airy, poofy and moist. It is generously stuffed with almond paste that highlights the fragrant almond flavor without overpowering sweetness. The flaky outer layer is perfectly complemented by the right ratio of almond flakes and powdered sugar. Each bite is a delightful flake-crunch-soft-sweet permeated with almond flavor. This review reads like an excessive description of an almond croissant but I will certainly be back to try more things! read more

Wish you could smell the aromas in the air the morning I found myself in front of this place! Wow! The smell of butter, yeast, cinnamon, sugar and wild flowers was intoxicating. Walking up to a very industrial building with beautiful flowers growing everywhere you are truly in for a treat. The display of artisan breads and pastries was out of this world. My eyes didn't know what to do with themselves and I wanted everything. Settled on my go to, a ham & gruyere croissant that was perfection and my mom tried their spinach and goat cheese croissant which was also outstanding. We also took a few almond croissants for the road with us and they were just as good as everything else we tried. Service was friendly and I loved the fresh flowers at each little table. I would love to come here every morning and start my day off at a place like this. read more

I don't care for sandwiches but got the turkey/havarti because of recommendations from Yelp. Not only was the sandwich fantastic, but so was the almond croissant. There were many choices of bread and pastries it was hard to pick what to bring home. The line moved fast at lunchtime, and there was plenty of seating. Wow, what a great little treasure in Bozeman. Creative pastries, really good bread, fantastic scones, and positively heavenly carrot cake. The service is great, even when they are busy, and all the employees are friendly and attentive. In spite of long lines in the morning, they've got an efficient service/checkout system that keeps things moving. Really delicious sandwiches for lunch, though only a couple choices usually. Oh my goodness!! This place is beyond amazing. It is quickly becoming a favorite spot for me. Pain is chocolat is my weakness and I have tasted many but when it comes to Wild Crumb they're pain ah chocolat is hard to beat. It is so unbelievably flaky, light, and crunchy all at the same time. Plus you can tell they use quality dark chocolate which is the cherry on top. I have also tried their cinnamon roll which by far beats any cinnamon roll I've had and their orange pecan sticky bun which is so good! Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with anything you pick. I also had their sourdough and it was excellent. This place is so great but be careful what time you go because it gets slammed especially on weekends, but honestly it is well worth the wait in line. read more

Wild Crumb in Bozeman is my granddaughter's favorite place to eat. The turkey club is her favorite and I too enjoy the fresh baked baguette that the sandwich comes on. But...Lordy the desserts are worth the drive people! The SLAB of coconut cake screams "pick me"! "Pick me"! So I did and I I'll say that it never has to scream again because my nose knows a damn good coconut cake when it's within 6 blocks. The blueberry scones are tender and perrr fect! They are big enough to share with another person unless you are a little greedy about sharing desserts as I am. Ain't no shame here. I bought brioche bread loaves too! I literally carried what felt like 10 pounds of pastries on a plane back to my state. I had to freeze a few items for another few weeks and I must say they still tasted yummy after thawing. The place has a line out the door each time I've been lucky enough to stop over there but the gals have it down to a science so it moves along at a good clip. I'm from the Deep South so I like a friendly face and a warm thank you and these ladies provided that too. The place is perfect to sit and eat while checking out the locals and the obvious not locals that are seated around you. So there ya have it folks. If you like pastries, pie, cakes and other homemade goodies and you are in Bozeman, MT stop on over and load up cause you ain't gonna be able to pick just one little ol' muffin. I walked up to the bakery counter to order some goodies to take home. I'm visiting the area and love trying out new local bakeries and shops. I was met at the bakery window by two young girls. Both not wearing masks but ordering me to step back 5 ft. I looked behind me and there was indeed a rope where customers can look at the bakery window from 5 ft away. When I asked why I had to step back so far when there was already a glass wall between us, they said it had nothing to do with COVID, but keeping the children from touching the glass. Since it was almost closing, the place was empty and I was an adult I ask if I could look quickly, close up, because I couldn't see from that far away. They insisted I must move back immediately. I wonder if the owners know what kind of employees are running their business. It was a shame...I left and will not be back! read more

Everyone goes crazy about wild crumb, and while I'm usually not THAT big of a pastry person, I stopped in for breakfast a couple times while I was in Bozeman and I GET IT. First of all, their croissants (which come in a wide variety of flavor ways) send you to flaky heaven. Plus, their quiches are shockingly good, particularly because they have a flaky crust instead of a tart crust like most quiches, and I am here for it. Definitely try a slice of quiche out if you're feeling savory instead of sweet. Can't forget that the space smells incredible and is just a nice place to hang out. read more

Wow! My friend and I went at 7:30am to beat the line. As soon as we opened the door, the aroma of butter and fresh baked goodness welcomed us. We stepped in and peered the display of goodies which in our minds, appeared with a glowing halo over it. We snapped out of our awe and it quickly became a game of trying to decide what to get before it was our turn to order. I opted for an entire baguette and the pain au chocolate. The latter smelled of heavenly butter baked to perfection. The top flakey layers were crispy and light, revealing a satisfyingly chewy middle balanced by the dark chocolate treasure in the center. Bakery Tour #3 First timers at The Wild Crumb. I had heard wonderful things and decided this was a must stop on our tour. Their pastry selection was on point! So many options. First, customer service: friendly but not very knowledgeable when we were asking questions about the desserts. Second, establishment: clean with a great vibe. Third, pastries: carrot cake was dry and not great but the frosting was yummy. Pistachio tart was flavorful and I especially liked the chocolate. I don't know if this is a dessert I would order again but I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone to taste something new. The last pastry was a combination of a flaky donut and cinnamon roll rolled in cinnamon and sugar. Very tasty. My girlfriend got a turkey baguette sandwich and she said it was very delicious. We stopped at the Wild Crumb while staying in Bozeman en route to Yellowstone. This is a top notch bakery with excellent bread and breakfast items. We had the egg sandwich and got ham and cheese croissants to go for lunch while hiking in the mountains. Everything here was excellent. Masks were required and people in line were respectful of distancing. This is a great spot to grab breakfast and pick up bread or lunch items for your outdoor activities in the area! read more

We spent the week visiting my mom in Bozeman and one of the places to take us at the top of her list, was Wild Crumb and it's easy to see why! We stopped by for a Sourdough Walnut Gorgonzola loaf and it was amazing! I don't love walnuts in bread, but I'm willing to make an exception here! The line moved quickly and even towards closing time, there were plenty of options. They offer a nice savory and sweet variety as well as options for those with dietary restrictions.
