I want to like Treeline so bad. I have been here a few times now, and order different variations of the same drink. An iced latte. The first time I get a coffee anywhere, I order a plain iced latte. If it is the latte for me, I never add flavor. If the beans are right, I am overly satisfied with my order. But if I start adding flavors, it is to cover up the bitter acidity of the coffee. When the beans are not right, this is when I add flavors. At Treeline, I usually add flavors. read more

When visiting Bozeman, I tried nearly every coffee shop that came recommended to me. The town isn't big, and with a few days you can really run the full coffee gamut. Treeline, for my money, is easily the best of the lot. Between their craft beans and great pour overs - to quality espresso drinks. I couldn't find a better cup anywhere else around (and like I said, I tried to!). They could easily cut it in any major city with their product. This is better than coffee I have had in LA and NY. They have cute merchandise and other goods for sale (like handcrafted jewelries, tumblers, coffee related stuff, tshirts, candles). I especially love the shop vibe. Open, airy, modern industrial. One of the purest delights in traveling to a new locale is venturing into an area that is purely a locals area and checking out their go to coffee spots. This coffee shop seems to be one of the solid anchors in the northeast area of Bozeman or what appears to be called the Brewery Historic District. We loved the juxtaposition of the modern exterior among the warehouse like buildings which themselves are directly next to more traditional Bozeman style housing. I had the Devil's own time finding this place thanks to the long lines at the restaurant almost immediately adjacent to it, but it was worth walking around. Bad news, parking, this is a residential neighborhood and parking can be - a challenge. But if you drive BETWEEN the buildings you probably can find a space for the ten minutes it ought to take you to get your drink and get back to your car. They have a selection of food, although I did not sample their wares the one time that I was there. You can see from the pictures that it's a large, albeit fairly quiet space, good for hanging out, studying, or just enjoying that awesome coffee you just bought. read more

I was traveling through Montana and stopped here on my last morning in Bozeman to get a Café Americano before heading to the airport. I'm so glad I did! Their coffee is flavorful, silky smooth, and an all-around great way to start the day. I also appreciate how they converted the warehouse space into a café that (almost) says "come in and stay for a while." Atmosphere: street parking. The space inside is beautiful. The outside has some tables inside these cute clear greenhouses which make for a great photo op while also blocking out the wind but letting in the sunshine when you close the door. The inside has plenty of seating at tables, a nook that looks like a mini library, and around the "bar" where the barista makes the coffees. They sell merchandise ranging from water bottles, clothes, jewelry, and of course, coffee beans! Coffee: We were in Bozeman two days (not consecutively) and made it a point to come back the second time because we loved this place so much. Their drip coffee was great, and we loved how much they cared about the products. They also have pastries and some breakfast items for sale if you wanted food. Highly recommend! read more

Coffee shops have power. It's best thing to walk into one and be warmly welcomed. Like every business we have spent our money at in this town, Treeline has also remained warm and ooze of human kindness. They have not come under the politicization most business have unfortunately come under in our town, where you can't come in to spend your money without a mask or papers being checked. ‍ Coffee shops were always meant to feel like home and this one did. I'm always on the hunt for new coffee shops when traveling! Found Treeline on Yelp and literally fell in love with the aesthetic. It's a huge shop with tons of seating, perfect to get work done, a lot of merch, and pastries to pair with their drinks. They also had outdoor heated igloos which was super unique! I ordered a hot vanilla oat latte, the coffee tasted great, I loved the vanilla flavor too (you can always taste and tell its the high end stuff). One thing I will point (as an Indian) is that I know turmeric (golden milk) lattes and chai are very trendy now. Both being deeply rooted in Ayurveda (a very ancient Indian practice) can border cultural appropriation/appreciation. The brand of chai at Treeline (Bhakti chai) is not an authentic POC brand (the owner, a white woman literally went to India and came back then created the company). I hope there's more awareness when it comes to these things, and I encourage coffee shops to try the authentic POC brand (Kolkata chai, Holy Spice, The Chai Box, The Chaa company, One Stripe Chai Co,) just to name a few! read more

Such a cool place. Coffee was excellent. It seemed to have more of a "grab it and go" atmosphere rather than a "sit and read a book" type feel which was fine by me. Tried one of the seasonal drinks, a "Starlight" latte, which was a nice change from the typical peppermint mochas you see this time of year as it was made with peppermint and vanilla - so good. The coffee roast blended well with the flavor additions and it passed the main "good coffee test" - the flavors and sweetness level didn't overpower and outshine the coffee itself. We tried to return the following day for more while we were on our way out of town but unfortunately we were too late in the day...we will definitely visit again the next time we are in Bozeman! read more

I really like this place! Street parking has not been a problem any time I've gone. The coffee is roasted in house and is brewed well. Staff greets you with a smile and works quickly to get life-supporting Java to their customers in a quick manners The shop is unique and cool to be in with seating for one or a small group, depending on business. I brought my service animal with me to this coffee shop today and had a horrible discriminatory experience. The blonde curly haired manager told me I was not allowed to have my service animal there unless she was wearing a vest, which is false and she had her service dog leash on. She then asked me to pull out my disability paperwork to prove to her that my dog was a service animal. It was excruciatingly embarrassing. I would expect an employee to be educated before harassing an individual with a disability and violating HIPAA laws. I then had to educate her on what she is allowed to ask me and she mocked my question back to me. Please educate your employees on service animal laws and what they are allowed to ask, especially this manager who should be educated and an advocate. I will not be returning and reporting this to the DOJ. read more

I lol'd reading some of these reviews, is it any wonder some random broad from LA would wander into Treeline? I think not. I think this sorta screams me and I'm ok with that. We were actually in the vicinity to try Wild Crumb but the line scared me off, not into lines or waiting on any one thing so I said forget it let's grab coffee and quickly found this place. Had an oat latte and the line had simmered down at Wild Crumb so we were able to return and try the place. I did ask the barista about a local hiking trail that we had missed when on the road and he didn't seem to eager to help which annoyed me slightly. We retraced our steps zoomed in on Maps and realized where we'd effed up at. I'd return to Treeline, it's the right vibe. Chairs to relax in outside. Athletic looking bunch early Saturday morning, four legged friends and such. I also appreciated some of the cute merchandise they had inside, didn't purchase anything but did like the kid klean kanteens. I went to the Main Street Treeline shop and ordered a latte in a real civilized sit-down cup--thought I'd treat myself to a relaxing brew. When I finished my drink, I respectfully returned my empty cup to the counter so the staff didn't have to retrieve it. The Treeline coffee dude, seeing I had brought my cup up to his area, rolled his eyes and told me to take it to the authorized empty coffee utensil area. What a corse, crude, unappreciative, 'dick.' Naturally I told him to put his cup where the sun don't shine. This is not the first regrettable encounter at this joint--they don't deserve another chance. read more
