I didn't see that you can add a note in doordash - so I called and left them a message and sent them a message through their website for what needed to be on the cupcake box. Even though I left the message the night before the delivery, they still received it and accommodated my request. Such amazing service! While I find $3/cupcake not unusually priced, I was highly disappointed by the flavors of the cakes. You can tell they skimp on the quality of the ingredients they use, which is unfortunate. The chocolate cake is excellent, the chocolate frosting, however, is horribly lacking...it's like an essence of chocolate, when the quality of the chocolate and flavor should stick out. Yellow and white cake were both dry and the vanilla buttercream is overly sweet. Here's a good tip: if you eat a cupcake and can't taste the butteriness (not greasy) right away, there's something wrong. Pay the 3.95/cupcake and get yourself an Elle's Belles! read more

The service was excellent. Cupcakes were really moist and we all really enjoyed them. Frosting was soft and plentiful. I do not see any problem with the price, Sola and Elles charge similar pricing. And La Chatelaine chocolates charges $2 for one truffle bite, so I think their pricing is reasonable. Only negatives were that It was hard for me to find parking and the shop could use some brighter lighting and decor. I've patronized cupcake stores all over the area (from Billings to Spokane--it's a hobby) and this one is absolutely THE best. $3 a cupcake is very reasonable for the size and the quality (and is also below average for gourmet cupcake shops.) The cakes are the perfect consistency, the frostings are exactly sweet enough without going over and exactly the right amount without being too much for the cake. I make sure to try the frostings and cake separately as well as together, and the chocolate cupcake sans frosting was simply amazing. Very rich, very dark without being bitter. This shop actually ranks #2 on my All Time Best Shops Countrywide list (east coast to west coast,) and that's saying something. Do yourself a favor--pop in and grab a cupcake. I love cupcake mountain!! I have been in several times and my family and I have ordered cupcakes for a few birthday parties and even my upcoming wedding! I love the variety you can choose from (normally about 8 flavors on a day to day basis) and you can even order flavors they don't normally carry for larger events like my wedding. I actually don't like cupcakes normally because I hate the frosting from most stores (even Elles, way to sweet for me!) but I love every part of these cupcakes! My favorite so far is the key lime! So...this place is only so-so. I love cupcake shops, cupcakes, and any cakey-type thing really so I know where I'm coming from. I've tried out lots of different bakeries. I was SO excited when I found out Bozeman had a cupcake shop! Cupcake Mountain is cool, but it's definitely not what it could be! First, I walk in there and BAM! The front desk is right in front of you and there's absolutely NO place to sit. At all. Like, you can only fit about five people in that tiny front space. I was really disappointed by that, because I had told some friends to meet me there and we had nowhere to go! So that was my first impression. The customer service was great! Both workers were really nice and friendly, so that was good. Now onto the cupcakes....the price was fine. $3.00 a cupcake is about normal. The cake was pretty good. Nothing to complain about there. But oh the frosting....I don't know what recipe you guys use, but please change it! I love frosting, and I have a sweet tooth, so usually I'm not picky. But this stuff is WAY too sweet, heavy, and dense. I couldn't figure out if they used real butter or shortening, because it was just weird...I've been there a few times, and each time I eat one of these cupcakes I get a headache. First of all, who doesn't want to tell people that you've been to Cupcake Mountain? I love the name, and the cupcakes? OMG! They are delicious! While I'm not the biggest fan of frosting (and they do put a good amount on each cupcake) the frosting is delicious as well, I just prefer less of it. Condisering these are speciality cupcakes the price isn't too bad, and one cupcake is plenty as they are decent sized. I got a dozen for the hubby's birthday and boy was he happy. I was greeted by the owner and treated very nicely. The front of the store isn't festive but who cares? I am a baker from California and while visiting my inlaws here, I decided to try out the local cupcakeries. Cupcake Mountain had great quality cupcakes and really delicious combinations. I also met the owner, who seemed to be a really great guy. I tried the mint chip one (forgot the name) and the chocolate toffee crunch one. Also had the irish coffee Guinness cupcake, strawberry, rainbow sprinkle, and red velvet. All of them were stellar. Definitely recommend this place.
