Unless you're a student, staff, or faculty member at the Arizona State University West Valley Campus, you might never really roam the gorgeous Glendale campus. For such a small campus, there are quite a number of dining options from Starbucks, Jamba Juice, and an all-you-can-eat dining hall...and then there is Cafe West. On the first floor of the University Center Building, Cafe West is right next to the ASU West Bookstore.
Cafe West is one place where you can take advantage of several different dining stations including Wild Blue Sushi. You can pick up sushi or chicken bowls that are refrigerated and can be taken to go and heated up on your own. Or like me, you can order nice, hot bowls. I ordered both sesame chicken and orange chicken in the past, but today, I ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl. You first choose between rice or noodles (I do half, half), then you can add veggies, then the meat, and finally the sauce. Once, the teriyaki sauce container opened up and completely poured into my bowl (but they made me another, though I do like teriyaki sauce). I would caution on the sesame chicken as that is really chicken nuggets with sesame sauce. But those teriyaki chicken bowls are delicious (though a bit pricey).
You can make purchases with cash, credit card, or Maroon & Gold dollars. During academic semesters, Wild Blue Sushi is open weekdays from 10 AM to 3 PM with varied hours during breaks. While the food is good, the service is even better! Also, occasionally, you may see the Sun Devil Hospitality (operated by Aramark) with tables showcasing nutrition or sustainability. For students, there is a great student space only feet away up the stairs on the second floor above Cafe West known as Devils Lair.
Also, Wild Blue Sushi is a national company with locations all over the place. It is known as "Modern Japanese Kitchen." They are located on many college campuses. Find out more about the company at https://wildbluesushi.com. The ASU location is tied to Sun Devil Hospitality. read more
