I had not but was so excited to know it's pretty much cooked sushi. That's what sets it apart from traditional sushi. I fell in love with the deep fried carne asada roll. I also tore up the wings sauced Senor style. Bring a little sweet and spicy to them. We tried a variety of protein with the fried rice and the sautéed veggies. I think my only downside is I prefer a rare to medium rare steak. It is very hard to get that type of cook on a thinly sliced ribeye. So splurge for the New York or Tomahawk. I recommend this place for many different reasons. For starters, they have a happy hour during the weekday and have a wide variety of choices. I enjoy their Mexican style sushi. My friend and I came here on a Tuesday and we were seated right away. Waitress took our order and our food came out delicious. I enjoy the place because of the low lighting and the wide spaces of tables. Very nice for dates or gatherings. I would have given the place a 5 star rating but the waitress took about 20 minutes to get our check when we were done, and we came on a Tuesday mid day when business wasn't busy. This place went from a giant menu and great food to a tiny menu and horrible food. Had 3 sushi rolls and they were all terrible. $80 later left almost all of our food on the table. We have eaten there many times and they were very good so decided to stop by today and wow how it went way down hill. The fries were ice cold so had to send them back and the bone in wings tasted days old. Waitress asked if we wanted a box because we only tasted two and we said no they taste old so she took them back and removed them from our check. She seemed like she gets a lot of food sent back to the kitchen no fault of hers though. Tipped her well like I said wasn't her fault. This close spot opened up by us recently and decided to give it a try. To be honest, I am Hispanic and the idea of a Mexican infused sushi menu didn't really appeal to me which is why I had not tried initially. I really wanted sushi and this was close by so decided to give it a go. I ordered my normal rolls I usually stick too which was a crunchy roll, philly roll and edamame. I gave them a call and put in an order which was quick and easy. Food came out to $25 which is in line with other sushi restaurants. The edamame was a big serving which was nice. The family and I shared and there was still leftovers. The crunchy roll was my favorite, the shrimp tempura was not soggy and nice and crunchy. The roll was just a tad smaller than other places but was still filling and delicious! The Philadelphia roll was made great, I wish the salmon pieces on top were a little thicker but it was really good as well. Overall, not the best sushi I have had but it's close and comparable to other choices in the area! I'll definitely be picking up again from here in the future. read more

Friendly service and food was decent. It didn't blow my mind but it's an environment for fun meets with family and friends. Drinks were delicious as well as fried ice cream which had more of a cinnamon coating and not a fried crisp. The rolls were huge and provided big portions but I felt the ingredients were not distributed equally. For example, the Philadelphia roll had uneven and thin cuts of smoke salmon (picture provided) on top and the rolls seems to be off with each filling for the rolls. Otherwise, fun environment like I stated but personally, I wouldn't want to spend that price for special roll if it's more about bigger quantity but not quality. Tonight was my first time going to a Mexican- and Japanese-fusion sushi restaurant. Honestly I was very reluctant to try. When my cravings decide to torment me after dark and traditional sushi restaurants began to close, I grow pretty wary seeing something radically different that's -- fortunately -- open late at night. When I take the plunge and just ignore the stars and the ratings, I first decide to scout the area in person. What does Señor Sushi look like? Is it a family business? Is it far away? Does it take a long time to deliver on weekends? Is it something big and popular, or does it carry a "stay away from it" reputation? Fortunately, when I entered the parking lot, it thrived with energy and a good amount of servers flocked around 5-party tables. It had an outdoor patio, a full bar, dinging DoorDash and Uber Eats tablets, and a line out the front door. My curiosity turned into excitement and anticipation. Soon I was seated by one of the servers as Señor Sushi didn't have a host/hostess that night. Helena came over to my table, and immediately I sensed that she was a great server. Being a server myself for several years, I assumed that she's been here at Señor Sushi for awhile. She knew how to hold her table sections with ease and steadiness without urging her customers to "What's your order? Okay cool, now hurry up and leave" -- or leaving them alone too long with -- "I hope you take a long time to decide because your presence here exhausts me". She answered all my questions about Mexican- and Japanese-fusion food in the restaurant, and helped me with suggestions so I can be more confident with Mexican ingredients inside Japanese sushi. Overall, Helena was a great server and Señor Sushi is a really good restaurant. Even bringing some home for Mom to taste really made her dopamine levels spike. I'll be back! read more

On a Saturday night, we got seated right away. It was not too packed, but not empty. The staff was friendly and attentive, checked on us often. The sushi was great! Constructed so well that it didn't fall apart when picking it up, like at other places. Each ingredient was beautifully displayed. My wife who doesn't usually try sushi enjoyed these rolls very much. They are similar and not raw, but we gotta ease her into it right?! I'd like to see the menu better reflect what they have; some things on the menu weren't available. Pretty good beer selections; I enjoyed a very tasty Bohemia with lime! We already know what we want to try on our next visit.
