I will absolutely give credit where it's due -- the drinks and craftsmanship here are excellent. The bartenders really know their craft, make great recommendations, and we've had some seriously amazing cocktails here. Unfortunately, on multiple visits we started to feel increasingly unwelcome. It's honestly difficult to explain because there wasn't necessarily one specific interaction I can point to, but there was a noticeable feeling that we just weren't wanted there. Whether it was certain interactions with staff or simply the overall energy around us, we both picked up on it more than once. I don't know if it was because we didn't necessarily fit the typical demographic or vibe of the crowd there, and I don't want to assume anyone's intentions. I can only speak to how we felt, and unfortunately, we repeatedly left feeling uncomfortable and out of place. It's genuinely such a shame because we loved this bar so much in the beginning. It has such a fun atmosphere, and the cocktails are fantastic. It wasn't your typical dance music, but every song seemed to connect with somebody in the room. The crowd was incredibly diverse, and it was so much fun watching people of every age and style dancing and nobody cared. The second DJ, a younger woman, shifted the vibe a bit and leaned more toward a younger crowd. It wasn't quite my style, so I took that opportunity to grab a seat at the bar and do what I apparently do best... chat with complete strangers. I'm a talker, and thankfully they seemed just as happy to strike up a conversation. This isn't some fancy cocktail lounge, and that's exactly the point. It's authentic. There were people dancing at the bar, grooving in their booths, bouncing in their seats, and filling the dance floor with great energy. I came by myself, and within minutes a cool group of strangers invited me to squeeze into their booth like we'd all come together. That's the kind of place this is. At one point they even offered me a glass of beer from their pitcher. I politely declined (look at me making responsible life choices... sometimes), but then I realized almost everyone had pitchers! So I sauntered over to the bar. I did have to wait a bit; apparently chivalry doesn't extend to letting a woman cut the line, but once I reached the bartender, the service was fast and friendly. Every trip back to the bar was the same. No complaints there. As the night went on, the energy just kept building. Before I knew it, I was on the dance floor sweating, smiling, and dancing with complete strangers. After a while, I had to retreat to the patio just to catch my breath before heading back in for more. My ankles are still sore... and the glutes? Fuhgetabouttit! Apparently one is expected to tolerate being verbally harassed and should literally run away from abusive people here. I guess legal recourse only option since rational conversation not respected. At that point I then stated maybe he could then apologize for the rude accusations he was making. At that point the other guy was pretty drunk and not wanting to hear anything we said, he only wanted to fight and he made it pretty clear when he went after my bf, and they got into it in the parking lot! After he was done with his bickering with my bf he came after me because I told him to make sure to view that camera and when he finds his lottery ticket later,he could apologize to us. And the guy was still very aggressive, and he even shoved me down in the parking lot. By that time my bf was coming to protect me and we just left the bar. Upon showing up a few days later, "Jay" was bartender and told us we were {86'd} from the bar and upon speaking to others that were there that day they even compared notes, and they found the guy's lottery ticket stuck between the toilet and the wall and I am very upset and hurt that we are treated as the unruly one's, and we only defended ourselves.
