It might be just me but the minute I walked in for Karaoke on a Saturday night I wished I hadn't driven the 20 minutes here. The place was very crowded and as soon as I entered with two of my girlfriends we got stares up and down and nasty looks. We tried to find a spot at the bar and ended up dragging over some stools near the pool table and the guys playing pool also looked super annoyed. We sat at the bar for at least 10 minutes with no acknowledgement by the bartenders and when I got up to use the restroom some really unpleasant guy took my stool and gave my friends trouble when they tried to tell him it was occupied. Needless to say there was not a good vibe and we were not served so we left. Not sad that I will never return, and I am sure the regulars won't care either. read more

Slow service if you are not a regular, like 10 minutes to be acknowledged in a virtually empty bar slow. Went there for the Super bowl and was told they were going to vote on the halftime show because "Bad Bunny would be wearing a dress in singing in Spanish". Complained on Google. Owner reached out, apologized, and said he and his staff didn't know about it. I used to go to Cheers many years ago when I lived in the neighborhood. So I started going again because I liked it. BUT! The food is still good and they made the place larger, but the staff just can't keep up. I think they have staffing issues and we end up waiting for simeple things like a drink. The food is typical bar food but we've always liked what we had.... especially the sweet potato fries. The bartender on Friday 12/22 in the fila sweatshirt with long dirty blonde hair in a ponytail(she refused to give her name) was very unprofessional. No matter what the situation you DO NOT argue with your customers and call them bitches. As a bartender in the industry I'm actually disappointed and disgusted with how this place handles customer who are not regulars. We have been looking for a local bar close to home. When you go to cheers, the first thing you will notice is the unbearable stench of sewage gas. Next you will notice that it is almost impossible to get a drink or a smile from the staff, unbelievably rude and unprofessional. The food was terrible also, wings were puny and dry. Our group of 7 barely walked in and our waitress was on it with our drink orders. We hardly had to wait at all which was impressive for a busy Friday night. Just as the description said, it was a sports bar with karaoke and there were definitely both that evening. A lot of people chose classic country songs to sing to. To deal with the singing, our hubbies wandered over to play darts while we, girls, had gummy bear shots and mixed vodka drinks. Although the bar has been described as divey by others, the atmosphere is still inviting and laid back at the same time. This bar has been around for years and even expanded. It's nice because it doesn't feel too crowded even with a lot of people there on a Friday night. The true stand out to me was the Tatchos. Out of nostalgia, popped in there today for lunch; what a difference, a nicely updated bar and decent TV's, but no lunch???? Only two people in there, and I was told they don't have a kitchen till 3PM; For a bar and grill?? It made no sense. She said she do some fried items, and blamed construction of a New Aldi's and a seafood restaurant for the lack of customers, as there was limited parking. Not the case, there was plenty of empty parking spaces; if you advertise as a bar and grill, you need to have food. So much for happy memories! read more

Worse place in Phoenix! Food is sub-par and the customer service is worse than the food. Was told it was a nice dart bar I turned my back and my darts were attacked. After an hour of driving around looking for somewhere to eat the bf and I ended up landing back on the couch and ordering from Cheers through ubereats (sorry eat24). We ordered at around 11pm and got our food at 11:30pm. Super hot and fresh. So much food per item. The bf got his usual cheeseburger with bacon and onion rings. We also got the loaded tator tots and the mac and cheese bites. We had so many leftovers and we pigged out. So we wanted to take our newly 21 year old sisters to this place because it seemed like a very nice place to do karaoke and grab a drink! The bartender was very nice but what made our night an absolute nightmare was the security guard. The way he spoke to us was extremely disrespectful. First he was rude to us because someone tried to bring a water bottle in, which he did not know because he doesn't go to bars much, and didn't even let him finish it outside btw . One lady in our group was also yelled at by him because they set down their drink on the edge of the pool table. He just seemed to be having a power trip all night. If he would have nicely spoke to us we would have understood but the way he talked to us was as if he didn't want us there in the first place. After reading the reviews I see that other customers had the same experience with security. I did notice him talking to other customers looking our way as well so that felt uncomfortable too. We definitely will not be back and will recommend to others not to come as long as he is here.Also there was a dead roach inside that we had to kick out of the back door. A group of friends and I decided to check out cheers tavern last night. The night was going really well and we were having a blast. The staff was friendly, the patrons were fun, the karaoke was great. At one point one of the people in our party was told that he was cut off. He was disappointed, as you would expect, but was by no means outwardly rude to the staff about it. And even as his friends, we agreed that it was a fair call. Within a few minutes we were told that he and his girlfriend had to leave. The bartender said it was the bouncer's call and the bouncer said it was bartender's call and neither of them would tell us what they had done wrong. I know what type of behavior gets people kicked out of a bar and they were not even close to it. It was very weird and confusing. So of course, we all left with them and had a great time somewhere else for the rest of the night. I'm pretty disappointed because we were having a great time and really liked the atmosphere, it would have been nice to come back with my husband because he loves karaoke too, but I won't patron this business ever again read more

New ownership, new review! I always liked Cheers, so when I saw it undergoing renovation this summer, I was a bit hyped. New interior does not disappoint! Great lighting system. Nice TVs everywhere. Lots and lots of comfortable seating. Whoever designed it has the aesthetics on point. The music also rocks. They play everything! And the sound system had an upgrade--you can NEVER have enough bass. But I know you know you come here for more than sleek looks and cool sound. You wanna know about the drinks. On Tuesdays, specials include $4 Jager bombs and $2 PBR Tall cans. It doesn't get any better than that. There's also a little food menu, but I'll get back to ya when I try that. Staff was very friendly and down-to-earth. I can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do, and that feeds into a fun environment. Cheers has all the foundations of a successful mainstay in the west valley. Like any new establishment, they'll have a little market research and fine tuning before they develop a solid identity, but it still works smoother than any other new bar I've been to.
