The sauces are not too sweet, which I really liked and they weren't too salty either. I had the yakisoba and she had the protein bowl. Quaint little place in a strip mall. Unassuming from the outside. Service was good. Ordered to go and didn't have to wait much. I'm my short time there, they had a handful of regulars come in and greeted by name. Super awesome to see this type of service in a small business. As for the food, it was pretty good. I got the large lunch Jamaican chicken with brown rice. It was a good amount food, souch that I had to save a bit for later. I expected a bit more heat from the dish, but that's what I have Sriracha at home. The edamame was plain. It needed some spice or salt as well. It's close enough for me to hit up for lunch, so I'll come here again. read more

I used to live over on this side of town and went to this place often. I don't know what happened, but I think possibly they have new owners and the food is horrible. It used to be a good place to go for jerk chicken they did a dry rub & grilled it and the sauce was served on the side if you wanted it. It was very spicy and really good. The slop that they are serving now is disgusting. It is dry overcooked rice with some what tastes like boiled chicken thrown on top with a whole bunch of tasteless bland sauce on top of that. It was basically an edible. I don't know what people are eating that are giving these great reviews or maybe they're just all high but that's some really awful food. read more

Their 4 kids were sitting at a table well, behaved and quiet. The space was clean and inviting--perfect for a casual meal or a quick lunch break. I ordered the Jamaica with extra veggies, and wow--every bite was bursting with flavor. The chicken was grilled to perfection: juicy, tender, with that perfect smoky char. The teriyaki sauce was rich, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced--not too salty or overpowering. The rice was fluffy and the vegetables were crisp and fresh, adding just the right amount of texture. I'm VERY particular about my chicken breast and theirs was perfectly seasoned and grilled. I also liked that you can order a bowl without sauce (I absolutely enjoyed it on the side). Super nice owners (I'm assuming the guy upfront who took our order was the owner and the woman helping was his wife), they gave great friendly service, the restaurant was clean and comfortable inside. Those are all 5 stars. But the food was not great, it was barely good. Now, it's our first time there so we only had a couple things, but none were good. I tried the Jamaican chicken, it was very dense and dry white meat with very little flavor and no spice, disappointing because I love jerk chicken. The sauce they offer on the side was genuinely not good, now I love sauces, usually all sauces of all kinds, and I'm easy to please, but this sauce wasn't good, doesn't taste like teriyaki or soy at all, and since the dark meat chicken bowl I got wasn't very good (dry, not much flavor), the 'not good sauce' didn't help at all. My wife got the white meat bowl and said it was super dry and not very good. The "salads" were okay, but were essentially foam-clamshells packed with cold, fresh head lettuce, and the extremely thin, watery dressing was alright. The best part of the food was the steamed rice. I honestly wish I could rate this place higher because the guy who took care of us was really cool, and his wife (I'm assuming) was nice too. But, while the food was fresh, it just didn't taste very good, it was exceptionally bland and pretty dry with little or no flavor. read more

One of my very favorite spots in the NW Valley. I try to grab lunch here each time I'm near. This place isn't flashy, and that's one of the reasons why I love it. It's family run, and the pricing for the amount and quality of food is excellent. I always get the Jamaican bowl because it's the spicy version of their teriyaki. Their egg rolls are dynamite too. When I was in high school I worked at Shogun Express which had rice bowls similar to Island Teriyaki. It was a big thing in the 90s and I loved it. It's hard to find a good place now, most use gross meat or weird sauces. Not island Teriyaki. It is soooo good. Always cooked well, always tastes great. I started coming here in the 90's. We used to order for lunch and someone would get. Now I live in the east valley so it's far between visits. I always get the cayman combo with Jamaican and the pork. The spice is a nice blend. This is served over white sticky rice! The side salad with the sesame ginger dressing is perfect coolness. The orange slice a nice touch. The egg rolls here are excellent with some sweet n sour. We always get extra teriyaki it's flavor is great. Wish I could buy it. Family owned the recipes remain the same. Parking is tight as it's in a strip mall but we always get carry out. I'm a big fan of dark meat chicken, especially when it comes to teriyaki, and often the one struggle is dealing with all the extra fat that goes along with dark meat. Not here. All the meat you get with your meal is purely edible chicken and it was very good. I ordered a large Maui plate and enjoyed the chicken and the rice and the small salad that went along with it. I order the teriyaki chicken bowl which was a bowl of dry white meet over some sticky white rice and a salty teriyaki sauce, it was basically flavorless, barely edible. Ordered some orange chicken as well, very little sauce probably the sorriest excuse of orange chicken ever, I had three bites and threw the rest away in the trash receptacle. I never really ever wrote a review on any of my restaurant experiences but I felt this one to be appropriate. My advice is to pass this place on by, don't waste your money like I did. read more

Seriously one of my favorite places to eat! Me and my husband go here at least once a week or every two weeks from the pot stickers to the noodles and chicken and rice everything is so flavorful and juicy! The service is always super fast and friendly and seems to be family owned. The store is cute not flashy but friendly and welcoming and has plenty of seating however not so thick people friendly when it comes to the seats the one down side but we always get our food to go so this isn't a problem but either way just something to be aware of!
