This is Beatrice…read more Like a lot of people my age, Cowboy Bebop in 1998 really drew their attention to the Corgi Breed. 4 years ago during covid and the fires I had enough sacked away to get one after 20 years. I quickly learned that the majority of Corgi's have their tails docked / cut off at birth. What you're going to find as a potential Corgi owner is the opinions on this are all over the map, with some people stating that the AKC breed standard is correct. Meanwhile the country these dogs originated from (UK) has outlawed the practice. Peggy was the 4th breeder I called, and the only one who stopped docking. Now before I go further, I want you to visit this group of Albums on Facebook. These are all photos I've been taking at our weekly meetup for the last 3 years. I want people to understand I've spent a lot of time looking at these dogs through a lens. https://www.facebook.com/groups/296131729642625/media/albums Dogs need their tails. Besides communication, there are so many other benefits the tail provides. Corgi's are known for having hip and spine degenerative problems, I think the issue partially comes from the docking. I've watched the gait of both docked, and undocked Corgi's. The docked corgi's tend to run like rabbits, with both feet, while the undocked have more of a trot style gait. Other issues, one that I've had concurrence with a mechanical biologist on is docked corgi's lose some ability to cleanly defecate. You really have a choice here. Live with a dog that has had an essential appendage removed, or get one the way nature intended. Peggy offers you the latter. The only real reason to get an undocked Pembroke is for show, but maybe if the AKC still demands these dogs beautiful fox like tails are removed as part of the standard, maybe we should stop showing them? Anyways, 5 stars. Will get another Corgi from Peggy someday.

Amazing, magical Corgis! Very smart, great temperament and absolutely loveable Pembroke Welsh…read moreCorgis WITH tails. The tails say it all.
