True Score: 3.75 Stars Great beer, meh Pizza We happened to be in Braintree unexpectedly so we decided to stop in. The beers were very solid - better than I expected. Their stouts were better than the IPAs. We had a flight to start and then full pours. They also have a half pour option on most beers so that is always appreciated. The servers were very friendly and came around frequently to clear glasses They are dog friendly on specific days and we happened to be there on a Sunday when they allow dogs so that was nice. We also really enjoyed the cheezit and gold fish dispenser. Shortly, wanted to love Mike and Lenny's bahhhh pies, but they were just average at best. Dough isn't great. Good spot. Thanks

Spacious with a welcoming small town vibe. Friendly beer tenders and a well rounded beer selection, including a sour, hard seltzer, and a variety of lagers and IPAs. Convenient on-site parking, and a food truck was set up during our Saturday visit.

Nice place, it was happening and trivia night when I went. The beer was pretty good. The Sour, the kolsch, were my favorite. The chicken tenders with the Widowmaker sauce was really good. We got the cajun sidewinders, the fry was good but, there wasn't enough Cajun seasoning for it to earn the title of Cajun sidewinder. The chicken sandwich was DRY even with sauce and the bread was dried out or over toasted. The pickle pizza was a complete miss. It was basically frozen dough discs with your normal pizza sauce cheese and slap some pickles on it. I guess I expected more creativity more of Big E Fair pickle pizza. The worst part was the dough was just soggy and floppy. The bartender was cool, nice guy!! Service was pleasant just a miss on the pizza for sure. Maybe add some dill, a white sauce something.. Also I should note, since they have multiple locations this was at the Brighton, MA location.

So after quite a bit of time, had the opportunity to swing by Widowmaker Brewing. I have had their beers at a variety of places but the timing never worked out to be able to actually visit. UNTIL TODAY! Great selection of beers for the enthusiast. Lots of IPA's , Double IPA's and a selection of Pilsner and Ales. I always choose the IPA's and had the Blue Comet and the Quarry IPA. Both were delicious and very nice. The place is very Pet-Friendly, with a dispenser for dog treats at the end of the bar. The place was loaded with tv's, so we sat back and enjoyed Week 0 of college football. The place has lots of seating and also has an outside area. Today was THICCY's Taco day. Had the chips and rojas sauce and they hit the spot. Great place to swing by and enjoy some great beers and food.

My favorite brewery! Dog friendly which is always a perk. The beers are always tasty and the indoor and outdoor seating is great for the summer. The new food truck has the best hot honey pizza and cheesy garlic bread too!! Staff is always kind a

Widowmaker Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Braintree, Massachusetts in September 2017. It was founded by business partners Ryan Lavery, Colin Foley and Bud Lazaro. Lavery and Foley met while playing in a men's hockey league. Lavery worked in pharmaceutical sales while Foley worked in finance. They soon learned that they shared a passion for homebrewing. They practiced their hobby in Lavery's basement and brewed everything from pale ales to stouts and porters. The partners soon became burned out in their office jobs and decided to quit and open a brewery. They decided to call their new venture "Widowmaker" as a reference to their former jobs: work that takes someone away from the people that they love. Lazaro came on board as an additional partner. After opening, the brewery's popularity grew very quickly; they went from a 7 barrel brewhouse to a 15 barrel brewhouse. In 2021, they opened a summer beer garden at Kilroy Square Farmers Market in Quincy Center. Lazaro later left the company and sold his interests to new partner Kenny Semcken. The current head brewer is Brady Heefner. Plans are currently underway to open a 5,000-square-foot brewpub location in Brighton. My son and I recently visited Widowmaker Brewing after a day of cycling in Boston. I looked to see if there were any good breweries in the area and Widowmaker came highly recommended. I was very impressed to learn that they've had several collaborations with notable breweries such as Equilibrium Brewery, Long Live Beerworks and Other Half Brewing. The atmosphere at the brewery was so chill and everyone was so friendly (staff and customers alike). Although Widowmaker doesn't offer traditional taster flights, they do offer short pours. I ended up sampling "Blue Comet" (New England IPA), "The Devil's Staircase" (New England IPA), "Candy Maker" (Peanut Butter Milk Stout), and "Interstellar Skylight" (Double New England IPA - Collaboration with Obercreek Brewing). Every single beer that I sampled was fantastic! In fact, I think that they are one of the best breweries I've visited in all of New England! Way to go guys! I look forward to your new Brighton location opening!

As soon as I saw the name of this brewery I knew I needed to try it! Lol! Steve and I got one of the beers from Widowmaker and we liked it fairly well. The Blue Comet was the name of the beer we had. It was a Hazy New England IPA which was very enjoyable. One of the better New England IPA's that I have had lately but that kind of holds up to my idea and experience that some of the best New England IPA's come from the East Coast and New England states. There are other promising beer selections as well and if the opportunity rises again I'd like to try a darker beer from Widowmaker like a porter or a stout.

The beer is very good. Not my favorite local, but you might think so. Besides, it's about the tap room, too. Great spot with regular hot trucks and dog friendly. Outside seating when it's nice. There's a stage inside for live music, too. Recently saw a show and it felt like a legit night club.

After moving out of Boston,…read moreI was looking for some local breweries to replace my favorites in the city, and am happy to say Vitamin Sea is helping fill the void. The brewery itself is spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating and your typical funky, industrial tap room feel. There's often really good food trucks, pop-up coffee stands, live music, trivia nights--you name it. You can also grab cans to-go, peruse their merch selection, and bring your pup along (at least if you're sitting outside, not sure about the tap room). Barrel House Z is also right nextdoor, so if you want to brewery hop a bit, that's an option too. The beers themself also don't disappoint. My husband and I are definitely hazy IPA people, and have found something we love each time we visit. If you're not into that though, your options are definitely more limited. They do always have at least one seltzer and mocktail on the menu if either of those are more your speed. Both the staff and patrons here are so nice, it definitely has a community feel to it. I'm quickly on my way to becoming a regular, and wouldn't have it any other way!

No matter, I can say for sure it was great! This one was refreshing, summery, citrusy, and while sweet, not overwhelmingly so. Something I would 10/10 get again, and need to get my tail end over here before it rotates out! I also have a light fascination with blue food - it seems like it shouldn't exist, but I digress. As for their other offerings, I feel that they have an okay selection. Some seltzers, stouts, sours, and non-alcoholic options were all available. However, the menu was also IPA heavy, and while I appreciate that I may be in the minority, I am not an IPA fan. Though, perhaps that may change in the future with Vitamin Sea's help. The staff have been nothing but kind and welcoming. While typical of places like this, the ability to try samples doesn't go unnoticed. Finally, the vibe is open, hip, and communal. There are lots of picnic style tables, and card/board game available to borrow. Thus, a terrific brewery to spend a weekend afternoon or evening at. The place is open to families and friend groups, and food trucks are here often. Lots to try and enjoy; especially for IPA lovers. Brewery fans will also appreciate another favorite: Barrel House Z throwing distance away.

Excellent food, attentive staff and just the right number of tables/seats and patrons. When we were there last night, we arrived at about 5:30pm and it was still quiet. But soon as 6pm arrived they were getting close to capacity. Seems to be quite popular and a great meeting place for friends, eating or date night. We had the Guiness draft, and they were perfectly poured. The suggestion I would make is that they use an insignia on the foam to promote their talented bar staff and restaurant. We (4) all had something different, Burger & fries, Shepards Pie with lamb, Codfish and I had the Pork Shank. Let me warn you that you need be hungry when you arrive from the good size portions as you won't be disappointed. Everyone ate everything and nothing was left to take back. All perfectly prepared. We came from Stoughton, so it was about 30-minute drive and well worth going to. Definitely going back. Thanks, you for the great time and food!

With this comes the anxiety that I will discover a mind-blowing place and kick myself for not heading in sooner. Thus, a disappointing experience doesn't hurt *quite* as bad. However, the foodie in me doesn't care about relocation... he cares about food. Lured in by reviews of my peers, I tried the Tokenfire Colada and the Ribeye Steak. The Colada seemed interesting and unique, and the steak looked mouthwatering in the pictures. Tokenfire Colada - This one was very sweet, peanuty, extremely creamy, and a little savory. The thickness kept it from being refreshing, and I am not sure if I would call it boozy either. Usually with cocktails I sip and sip until it's all gone well before the halfway point, like popcorn in a movie theater where the bag is gone by the end of the trailers. Then there was the Ribeye Steak. I don't know... something about one of the photos here possessed me to order it, though I almost never order steak at a restaurant (gosh knows why). The wait for this thing was considerable, more than I would expect for a medium-rare piece of meat, especially when it wasn't that busy. I can only imagine if all tables/bar seats were full and there was a waitlist! Eventually the steak made it to me, but... was it worth it? No, it was worth neither the wait, nor the money it cost. First, rather than being cooked medium-rare as requested, it was more a medium-well, at best. Second, some of the steak was extraordinarily chewy. Third and finally, I found it rather bland, while some salt was used in seasoning, this was very light. The steak came with broccoli and mashed potatoes. These two were also bland, and so forgettable I didn't remember them until I went to upload the photo of the dish. Finally, there is the question of vibe. It feels like a place with light tavern influences. Not at all bad to spend a couple hours. However, as a small quip, the purple/violet LEDs fly in the face of said vibe. Thus, we are left with a thoroughly underwhelming experience where I begrudgingly finished my items because I am not someone who likes to send food back. I am only glad I tried Tokenfire in that I won't regret never trying it.
