I've been to Wicked Sisters many times, but this review is just a food review, as their restaurant is closed for the quarantine. That said, it is beautiful inside and there is a lovely upstairs patio. My boyfriend and I ordered the Brussels sprouts, the insanity burger, and the shrimp bowl. As many have mentioned, the sweet and spicy Brussels are to die for. They're my favorite Brussels in the city! They have a great honey flavor and a little spicy kick. I often compare other Brussels to these, which is totally unfair as these are PEAK BRUSSELS! The insanity burger is just as it sounds, INSANE. This burger is massive, juicy, and has a ton of flavors! My boyfriend was not able to eat the whole thing, but did some damage. The sriracha bacon is a great touch and the aioli style sauce is delicious. The fries were a bit soggy/underwhelming, but takeout fries are tough, so no points deducted there. For me, the Shrimp Bowl 2.0 was a surprising star! The coconut curry sauce was incredible. It was a hefty portion of shrimp and rice, plus the cucumbers were crisp and fresh. I picked this item on a whim and I'm glad I did! Overall, Wicked Sisters never disappoints. ~ Stopped in for the the mac and cheese after a workout, but I got there to early so I could only order breakfast. I order the steak & eggs w/ a order of the wicked wings on the side. I have a rule about ordering steaks at a non steakhouse , so I already knew thing weren't gonna turn out right. But, hey, I was already there & didn't want anything else. Breakfast potatoes, and Brussels sprouts was also included. I pretty much just ate the eggs & crushed the buffalo wings (amazing). Steak was poor as expected. I'll never eat Brussels sprouts again .. 1st and last time here. It's a really cute spot and our service was EXCELLENT! The food however, was extremely disappointing. I ordered the fish for the day and it was extremely dry and flavorless. It was served on top of a fennel and cauliflower puree which was cold and not at all tasty. Others in my party ordered the burgers, which they said tasted like soapy water. The wings were ok. I've been to Wicked Sisters Tavern a few times now (once for takeout, once for dinner on the patio, and once for brunch), and I like it. It's much larger than many of the neighborhood's restaurants; there's a downstairs, an upstairs, and a patio off the upstairs. The menu is pretty traditional tavern/pub fare, but everything I've had is a good version of that dish: the burger, the crab mac and cheese, the crab cakes, etc.! They have a few vegan options, too, which is great for when vegan friends and family are in town. The service is good, and the restaurant is nice. Drove up from So MD to shop at 228 Grant Street Candle Co. Decided to have lunch before we head back. This establishment was highly ranked so made a reservation. We didn't know it was restaurant week and they had a special menu. The waitress made the argument that the special menu will be gone Saturday so we should take advantage. I should have stuck to the regular menu items. The Thai Brussels sprouts were reheated and over sauced...mushy. The fish and chips were super greasy and over salted. It's the sweet and spicy brussels sprouts for me! We randomly decided to check out Wicked Sisters on a Saturday morning without reservations and managed to get in. There's only street parking, but it wasn't hard to come by. When we walked in, it took a few minutes before the staff acknowledged us and to be seated. To the drinks...we ordered the Mule it Over and Midnight in Holland, which were both refreshing. I ordered the waffle sandwich, and my partner ordered the steak and eggs. We contemplated ordering the brussels sprouts as an appetizer but decided against it since it was a side that came along with the steak and eggs. As the professional taste tester aka girlfriend, I tried the brussels sprouts first. We immediately regretted not ordering it as an appetizer. They were a perfect combination of sweet heat and crispiness. Ultimately, we had more than enough food, which was also tasty and opted against placing another order. *Restaurant Week Review* Loved seeing this Hampden staple on the restaurant week list and had an easy time getting a reservation online. At $40 for dinner it seemed like a good enough deal! For starters, the drink menu here is great but nothing REALLY stands out about it. After a nice pale ale, I was ready for the meal! The crab arancini balls were DELICIOUS. Most of the flavor came from the sauce they were sitting on top of and I was licking that sauce long after the arancinis were gone. We tried the duck confit next after the waitress recommended it. The cook on the duck was great but the whole dish needed flavor. Everything felt bland (polenta, carrots, even the duck) unfortunately. But the bread pudding for dessert saved the day! Came here for brunch with two friends and so glad we picked this spot! It's a very modern and trendy restaurant in downtown Baltimore (not an upscale vibe but more laidback). You can wear whatever. There's an upstairs and downstairs and some outside seating. Brunch ends at 3. The McCabe burger was solid with 3 mixes of meat. I would get it again! The beyond jalapeño poppers-- I would pass. It's just 4 pieces of jalapeños cut in halves with beyond meat/ cheese and rice. Nothing exciting. The service was great and the mixed drink selection/ bar was great! The protein here is 5 stars. It's honestly hard to get meals cooked and served for a group with beef made to order and consumed hot. We enjoyed every bite. We think there could be some more toppings options for the burgers, even if drawn from existing menu items. This is hands down the best burger I've had in Maryland but sometimes we like over the top or creative flavor combos. The sides we had were excellently prepared; I do prefer my fries a little saltier but I tend to like that more than most. The Brussels sprouts were 1% soggy, an opinion I have only because some other local spots offer them flawlessly crispy. The flavor here was a neat sweet and savory without being too bold. Our neighbors got wings that looked so juicy yet crispy- enough to mention it here. The drinks and service are unique and top notch! It can be rare to find a good food and drink menu like this. The service was exceptional and rare! Everything was timely on a busy dinner hour and we were treated like familiar regulars. The music and ambiance are neat, clean, and fresh. Just loud and lush enough to vibe intimately with each bite! :) I prefer a slightly cozier dining setting in terms of seating and privacy; some tables here are a little closer to one another. I went here about 2 years ago for vegan restaurant week and came here again this year for vegan restaurant week and I was not impressed (last time was a way better experience). They didn't really have any vegan specials that weren't already on their menu. We wanted the Buffalo cauliflower, but they ran out so we get the beyond jalapeños based on the waitress' recommendation, but it was literally just 2 jalapeños sliced in half, seeded, and filled with some beyond sausage and a little cheese. The sauces were hardly enough to eat with the food (but the avocado crema was good if I could have had more of it). For $14, I definitely could have made this at home. The jalapeños didn't even taste grilled. For our entrees, I got the curry bowl (based again on the waitress' recommendation) and my husband got the insanity burger. My husband really enjoyed his burger and said the patty was like a mixture of beef and short rib combined, so he said it was delicious. While the curry flavor of mine was good, the tofu didn't do anything extra for me other than adding protein. It would have been nice if they would have at least fried it or did something with the tofu rather than just take store-bought tofu and chop it up. It also wasn't very filling, so we got dessert too. For dessert we got their bread pudding and the waitress mentioned it was a pumpkin spice flavor and I was immediately excited. I love bread pudding with ice cream, so I also ordered cajou creamery's dulce de leche ice cream with it (Note: the bread pudding is not vegan, but the ice cream is). The dessert came out and while it's plenty to share for two people, that was where the pros ended. The bread pudding tasted like it was made in the morning, so it tasted old and kind of stale. The flavor was nothing like pumpkin spice, but rather chocolate chip which I'm not a fan of. While I'm impressed with the consistency and creaminess of the cashew cream ice cream, the flavor was not there. It just tasted like vanilla ice cream, which I don't care for either. Now when the bill came, that was a whole other issue. My husband ordered their standard mule (the menu said $9) and the waitress asked what type of alcohol he wanted and he said Tito's. The receipt showed $4 for the mule and $8 for Tito's which I thought it was odd it was broken up like that, but also, why doesn't it add up to the $9? The waitress said it was because he ordered Tito's, but at no point did she mention there'd be an upcharge for it. And she asked what kind of alcohol he wanted, so why ask and not mention the difference in prices? Also, the mule was presented in a normal glass, and from our experience, mules are a little underwhelming when not in a copper cup. My husband said the taste of this one was whatever. The other issue on the bill was the dessert, it had $9 for the ice cream (which is correct according to the menu) and then an extra $5 for an extra scoop, which I did not ask for. The waitress was able to fix that error at least. All in all, I won't be a repeat customer. The food is pricey and subpar. I appreciate their attempt at having vegan options though. read more

Got done with work after a long day and was starving so I fired up yelp to check out what was around me for restaurants and I found wicked sisters along with a few other highly rated Baltimore. Restaurants checked out the menus and decided to try wicked sisters as the first one valet parking out front seven bucks which they'll add to your bill. Once you walk in, it's definitely a cool vibe in an old house. Brendan at the bar was absolutely phenomenal making recommendations on the menu even as he was making tons of drinks to send out to the servers. Brendan recommended the crab dip and since I am a big when in Rome, type of guy I decided to go for it, and was leaning towards the lobster ravioli as an entrée but the crab dip eats like its own meal and is very filling. I polished off about half of the crab dip, which they kindly gave me a box for and said it actually heats well alongside the strawberry rhubarb bread pudding for dessert which was also next level! As a pro tip-i'd recommend perhaps trying to arrive a little earlier in the night, cause it was jammed when I got up from the bar and turned around to leave. Service is top notch ambience is awesome and the food is even better. Five stars definitely gonna come back and try some more of their menu. read more

I was able to snag a seat at the bar which was thinning out so it was just me, another patron and the bartender. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it was a decent experience. Went to Wicked Sisters tonight on the spur of the moment with a good friend from College for an evening to reconnect and have a nice cocktail. I ordered the first menu item that caught my eye: the Lobster Ravioli. What a sensually satisfying meal!! I almost wanted to lick the plate clean-- the sauce was SO perfect!! the accompanying side salad : Caesar; was perfectly balanced with a delicious creamy base and freshly shaved Parmesan cheese over cool and crispy romaine. The place is Hoppin and the food is delicious. We had the kale salad which was bountiful and full of delicious nuts and dried cranberries. We added blue cheese and it was outstanding. Highly recommend the blue cheese. When I ordered the insanity burger I didn't know what to expect. When I started to eat the burger I said to myself, this burger is insane and I forgot that that was the name of the burger.. no false advertising there. One of the best burgers I've had. I took off the onion rings and eat them separately and just added all the sides that they had put on the side. I didn't bother to add the wicked sauce because it didn't need it. I use that sauce with my girlfriends French fries as I had the Brussels sprouts. The brussels sprouts had a honey Sriracha glaze. They wouldn't know that I'm not a fan of sugar but it was still delicious. We ordered a half order of mussels. I didn't try them but Claire thought they were decent. First of all, I would like to say that I definately plan to return to Wicked Sisters in the future. A friend and I went here for dinner after I picked her up from the airport. We did not have reservations, but were able to get a table upstairs, for which we were grateful. Abbygale was our server, and she was outstanding! She was always there when we needed something, and always checked on us as the evening went on. We each ordered something different, which gave me a good idea of how the food was prepared and the taste of the food. We started with Brussel Sprouts and Baked Meatballs, Both were perfectly seasoned and was very delicious. The portion size for the starters could have been a meal by themselves. Our entrees were a bit more conservative. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with fries, while my friend had the McCabe Burger. Both sandwiches were prepared perfectly and the lettuce, tomatoes and pickles were fresh and added to the flavor of the meal. Overall, a great place to have a nice evening! read more

I came to Wicked Sisters for a late lunch/early dinner after a lovely day at the spa. Wicked sisters is usually quite busy and inside they are still at reduced capacity. They do however have an outdoor patio upstairs which was perfect for the 64 degree day. They have about 8 tables and a lounge area on their patio with plenty of room to social distance. They had both the lunch and dinner menu available though a couple items weren't available. We ordered a half order of mussels, crab soup, turkey burger and the chickpea burger. For dessert we got the vegan cajou horchata ice cream, decaf coffee, the Maryland cake and Russian imperial stout. The apps came out in about 10 min and the soup was a good size portion enough to share but not enough as the standalone dish. It wasn't a creamy soup but a tomato bisque base which was nice and light. There were a good number of veggies but not as much crab as I woulda liked. The mussels were really big and all but one of them were open which was great. The bread that came out with it was cheesy bread - a nice touch. There wasn't an oyster fork though and the white wine broth they were cooked in needed a lot more flavor and some salt. The burger and fries were solid. They provided a lot of add on options and the fries were well cut and perfectly done. I thought that the turkey meat itself was a bit dry and either needed less time on the grill or some added moisture to the burger itself. The desserts were amazing. We had ordered the lemon Maryland cake and it went really well with the cojou horchata ice cream. They have a few vegan items on the menu though they were out of one vegan dish for the sandwiches. This spot works if you're veggie or vegan but there are limited options. I'll likely return though and try some of their other sandwiches or an entree. read more

I had the wings, the crab dip, and the "dan dan" noodles. The wings were average (nothing out of the ordinary). The crab dip was also average in terms of US standards, but below average in terms of Baltimore standards. You can get much better crab dip with large pieces of crab meat at other restaurants in Baltimore (ex: Nick's Fish House or Don't Know Tavern). As for the "dan dan" noodles, they were far below average. They weren't even dan dan noodles. It tasted like they took spaghetti noodles, found whatever Asian sauces they could find at an Asian market, and mixed it all together. The flavors just didn't work. - VVP read more

Hole in the wall restaurants have the best food with limited to street parking. Dinner was fire. The Spa day cocktail Took me on a vacation with a buzz. The wicked flavor wings were amazing. I met two friends for lunch at Wicked Sisters. I'd never eaten there before. The service was excellent. The food was fair. The appetizers--brussel sprouts and crab dip--were fair, but I thought the dip was sparse in terms of crab. There was too much filler in the expensive crab cakes. I guess I've been spoiled by Koco's and Pappas. The sweet-potato fries were good. I was offended by the addition of the tip to our check. Usually, restaurants add the tip for large parties, but we were a threesome. The parking near the restaurant was atrocious. I had no idea it would be so bad. I'll never go to the restaurant again. I've been to WST 2x and its always perfect. First time I went I ordered the wings with the sauce of the week. I believe it was a Thai Chili type flavor and they were great. Not to saucy, cooked well with a nice crisp. The next time I went I ordered the Insanity Burger cooked medium, it was nice burger with A LOT of toppings. I made a mistake of not cutting my burger and it started to get messy but that didn't take away from the taste. The fries is really what fills you up. They're a nice cut with a nice amount of seasoning, the portion is the size of a chinese takeout box so it. Their drinks aren't for the weak. I appreciate a restaurant that doesn't water down their drinks or provide more juice than alcohol and Wicked Sisters does not do that. Today was my first time checking this place out, but it was so cute! I loved their upstairs, outdoor seating area. While I was there, I saw 2 customers who brought their dogs so I think it's great they're dog friendly! So the atmosphere is definitely 10/10.
