I took my Oreck XL21 for an annual tune up to this shop and told him the locking mechanism that…read morekeeps the vacuum stay up is not working. Other than that the vacuum cleaner is working fine. He charged me $87 to do the basic tune up and told me the top cover needs to be replaced to keep the vacuum stay up which will cost $50. I ended up paying $87 for the tune up because he didn't have the top cover to install. When I got home I tried to use the vacuum and found out that he basically didn't do anything other than throw in a new belt which was not even placed on the roller and a new roller (retail price together $12). He didn't even bother to put in a new bag or wipe down the dirt. In fact I don't think he even open the base plate. The Annual tune up is supposed to be free from Oreck for XL21 but they closed down all their dealers near us. I was willing to pay because I thought he will do the right thing. In fact I was thinking about buying another Oreck from him. Very disappointed. Let us see how far his dishonesty will take him.
