Located on the main stretch of downtown Banff by all of the hotels and hostels, this cute cafe has solid, quality options to start your day off right. We stopped in to pick up pumpkin bread for a breakfast on the road and there was a BIG line. I've heard the coffee rocks here and that was definitely clear with the line. They had an array of baked goods and several warm drink options, and we were in and out quickly. This cafe is TINY, so not a spot you'd stay to enjoy your food. This coffee shop was conveniently located across the hotel we stayed at in Banff and it did not disappoint. I ordered their new cinnamon latte which turned out to be tasty and well balanced. The location, again, if very convenient as its right on the main street (Banff Ave.) so easy to access. It is connected to a hotel lobby which I could tell some people use to hang out around which is nice option if you are in no rush. The staff was super friendly and helpful when we discussed which coffee would be best for us and they were also very knowledgable. The coffee here is DELICIOUS! We came by on Sat morning and there is a short line out the door. The line goes pretty fast so no worries. We ordered a latte, a cappuccino and an americano. All the coffees were so tasty. It has the nice coffee flavor but no bitterness or acidity. Super smooth! We also ordered 2 breakfast cups and 1 apple bread. The breakfast cup is basically a slice of bread with bacon and egg baked inside. The salsa they provided was pretty tasty. The apple bread is good but a bit dry. read more

"Best coffee in Banff," I was told by the gal who checked me into the Moose Hotel. She was right. Truth be told, I didn't try a lot of other places because why would you need to? Once I had that first sip of an Americano, which I drink black so that I can fully enjoy the flavor, I was sold. This is a smooth, not at all bitter brew. Obviously I like a strong cup, but what I don't like are the places that make what I call the sour death brew. I went twice in one day and then back several more times during my stay in town. I thanked my lucky stars that this cafe was right next to my hotel so that I could get up in the mornings and make a sleepy beeline to Whitebark, where the baristas are all sparkling and lovely Aussies who make pleasant conversation with you while you try to form your first words of the day. The service here is SO slow. There was a line out the door when we came on a Friday morning around 9, and there weren't that many workers. It is located in a hotel, and you are able to sit in the hotel lobby to eat. We tried the banana bread, frittata, yogurt, and cheddar scone. Highlights were definitely the banana bread and the granola in the yogurt. We also got a regular latte and matcha latte, which were both great. Based off of the hot chocolate & cheesecake that I had, this place was quite amazing. Hot Chocolate: we really wanted some hot chocolate after a long day of touring in the cold weather. Googled "best chocolate in Banff" and this place popped up so we gave it a try and it was definitely the right choice! They melt Dutch chocolate to make it.. so it's a nice thick creamy taste, just what we wanted! (P.s. they dont have whipped cream) We ended up coming again on our last morning before heading out of Banff. Cheesecake: I dont normally eat cheesecake because I'm not a fan of that cheesy flavor, but my husband ordered it and said I HAVE to try it so I did. And yes.. it was indeed amazing. A very light fluffy taste (unlike the normal thick texture of cheesecakes). And the raspberry sauce that comes with it was quite amazing as well. We bought another slice to take back to our resort. When we came back, they didnt have regular cheesecake but chocolate cheesecake. That also looked amazing so we got it and it surely was amazing. OK, yeah. A place where the folks care about the coffee and how well it's made. I'll TAKE it. In a ski town like Banff, this place is necessary and welcome. My oat milk latte was brilliant, just the right temperature, too. I had two cookies--a chocolate chip something-or-another and an oatmeal raisin coconut awesome. Their textures and flavor profiles were completely different and I was lovin' it. The staff were attentive, super-kind, and gave me a bit of sass, which I think they could tell I LOVED. Our go to coffee shop in Banff, Whitebark! Has an excellent array of selection from bakery to juices. It gets pretty busy but their staffs are very quick! If they have their chocolate banana loaf, I highly recommend you get it! Today we got the chocolate white chocolate cookie, and a Large latte. We made about 3 trips during our 4 day stay in Banff not only because it was close to our hotel, but because it was one of the best coffee shops in downtown Banff. It's a little small inside but that didn't bother me too much because I loved their outdoor seating a lot. It's spacious and away from the busy sidewalks and streets AND the views are amazing. We definitely enjoyed sitting here during the evenings! They have a good menu with a range of coffee and tea. I wish they had more breakfast options because their baked goods were AMAZING! I tried the butterscotch walnut bar and the sweet Potato pecan bread. Of course the earlier you go the more stocked their baked goods are. They had such unique flavor combinations for their bread and muffins and I wish I had the chance to try them all! I tried the vanilla latte and hazelnut latte and they were satisfying enough. Anyone visiting should definitely make a few stops here because they had the best baked goods in all of downtown Banff. read more

My husband and I were there for our 10th anniversary and found the perfect place to warm up in the -30* weather. It was absolute perfection!! The employees were amazing! They were professional, friendly, kind, and make a mean cup with a plethora of flavor. They let us take boiling water and throw it in the air where it completely evaporated.
