This cafe was highly recommended and it definitely lived up the hype. I enjoyed the coffee but the standout to me was the PORK AND FENNEL SAUSAGE ROLL. I ate it too quickly to take a photo but I wish I had bought another one. The pastry was surprisingly flaky and crisp, and the fennel flavoring really had depth of flavor to the sausage. Fun place to grab a coffee while walking around Banff. I decided to grab their special which was the matcha lavender latte. I love matcha so the lavender balanced out the matcha so well. I saw a bunch of snacks and pastries, but didn't grab any since we were snacking all day. The service was quick and fast. Delicious, foamy white mocha and right off the Main Street, pretty fast too for the amount of people who were ahead of us.

Latte was pretty but couldn't really taste the coffee/espresso in it. Sadly my kids hated the muffin I brought back for them. Other breakfast options available. Service was friendly. read more

This may be a coffee shop, but I'm here to review the quinoa salad. It was a perfect picnic food to take on a day hike to Lake Louise. Coffee was great too, lots of delicious looking pastries, muffins and other breakfast treats on display although I didn't try those. read more

It is located in Banff, so it has a good scenery if you choose to dine outside. Menu is very legible and the sizes are appropriately sized. The lounge has couches and is a part of a hotel, I think. Looks very nice. Cashiers speak French but English was no problem. Food was delicious. For the green matcha latte, you need to add sweetener. I usually drink boba drinks at 25-50% sweetness but I think adding no sweetener is a bit much for your a sweet drink enjoyer. I enjoyed it, though. read more

This quaint little coffee cafe is nestled in the Banff Aspen Lodge Hotel surrounded by outdoor fire pits! As soon as you walk into the cafe, the smell of fresh pastries & espresso fill the air! Their in house drink were are heavy duty ceramic mugs which fit the hand perfectly! I ordered a caramel hot chocolate & my sister ordered a tiramisu hot chocolate, both were equally delicious! Everyone was friendly, outgoing, & punctual! We sat outside near one of the fire pits to drink our toasty beverages in front of the snowy mountains! Such a great coffee shop! Enjoy! I was traveling with someone who is a vegetarian, but we both wanted to make sure that we got enough protein in the morning before a long day of hiking. There's were plenty of options for them to try. They got a quinoa and mushroom pastry roll, whereas I got the pork and fennel roll. Both came with chutney, which was delicious! The staff were very friendly as well. This is a small cafe located next to our hotel. We stopped by here to grab coffees and lite breakfast. I came here mainly to try the cute little egg cups while my husband got quiche. Both food and coffees were good. They have very minimal bar seating inside and can get very crowded in the mornings. This morning, when my husband and I woke up in our home back in Michigan, I turned to him and said, "why don't we have a coffee shop next door?" You see, we were lucky enough to have Whitebark right next door to our hotel during our trip to Banff and it made sore mornings (lots of hiking. Lots of skiing) a lot more bearable! I liked Whitebark my last trip but now I've come to LOVE it. Every morning either my husband or I would stumble over, grab two large lattes and a smattering of baked goods and take it back to our hotel room as we got ready. The baked goods are amazing. They change daily so we got to sample a wide variety from apple cake to banana strawberry bread, vegan blueberry basil banana bread to triberry muffins. The rotating menu was fun but it was also a total tease when I fell in love with the apple cake and I couldn't have it again! Also delicious? The egg cups. little muffin sized savory bites of bread, bacon and egg. We had those several times during the trip as well. I also LOVED the granola and yogurt parfait and got a bag of the granola to go home on our last day. The coffee is delicious and they have the best hot cocoa in town too. When every ski resort let me down with the watery powdered stuff, Whitebark hooked it up with real melted chocolate. Yes, please! read more

I've enjoyed coming to Whitebark Cafe each time I'm in Banff. It's such a great feeling to be able to sip delicious espresso while taking in the mountain views. Be sure to take your time there and chill in the summertime. They have a great outdoor seating area for humans and pups. Indoor seating is limited to bar seating by the window. My default espresso drink is the cappuccino, and I think Whitebark pulls a delicious cup. I don't recall if they displayed where their beans are roasted, but in this past visit, the roast tastes lighter than what I'm used to. Refreshing change. Friendly service. Seems like they run out of pastries by early afternoon, though. read more

I stayed at Banff Aspen Lodge. The coffee shop is in the lodge. I had latte in the morning with the bag breakfast Banff Aspen Lodge provided. Latte was very good, so I got their coffee cake which was home made. Coffee cake was good, too. The place was nice. I wish I would come to Banff and this coffee shop again. Outstanding place! I was really happy. One of our (wife and I) goals was to hit as many of the cool coffee cafe's in town and see what we thought was best. There is always a big debate when you speak to people about the absolute best one. For me.....it was Whitebark. Why? First, the coffee was outstanding. The space is inviting, with both a nice indoor and cool outdoor area to enjoy your morning treats. The pastry's (oh that coffee cake) we got were outstanding! Lastly, and more importantly, the people. The staff was so friendly and helpful and this place had such a "at home" atmosphere. I DID NOT feel that at Wild Flour, where there wasn't the same friendly vibe where people were genuinely nice and wanted to get to know you a bit. It is an awesome café at the ground floor of the Banff Aspen Lodge, next to its lobby. The breakfast options are exceptional. I definitely recommend the granola bowl. It had berries, raisins, and yogurt to go with the granola. At first, I tried a little of each component. By themselves, they were just ok. However, they mix into one amazing bowl. It is an example of the whole being significantly greater than the individual parts. I also highly suggest ordering the banana bread. I really enjoyed the raisins inside. In general, it was stellar.
