The Outdoor Stage

Went here on a Saturday night to see a band that I recently discovered. Two of my girlfriends joined, both had been before; I had not. Both said they love the vibe. First impression was great! The outdoor area is small but has a Total South Austin vibe. Bartenders were nice and after my 2nd Shiner, he remember me for my third and last one. We ordered the Kimichi Fries.... Delicious, the smoked Edema...tasty and Crab Rangoon... Out of this World! Had a great experience! BTW... Bathrooms are nice and clean.. Super Plus!!

White Tiger is a bit of a hidden gem knowing their location is literally down the road from an Hermes and Soho House, but I appreciate their still holding grip on what South Congress used to be about -- live music and grit. Situated right next to The Continental Club, you can hear live music coming out of both joints which is so nice and refreshing. The drink prices at White Tiger are super reasonable for bar drinks nowadays and felt like you weren't breaking the bank. Bar staff is super nice and they literally have a huge portfolio of drinks from college geared to a nice sip on a well aged tequila or whiskey. As a lover of Electric Jellyfish, I just had to go for a pint of my fave IPA. For my friends who ordered cocktail drinks or wine, let's just say that they have a nice pour you'll enjoy. The front is more of a dj party environment and as you walk down the hall with all of the polaroid photos, you'll step upon their back patio which has a second bar and a stage adjacent to it. There is an elevated patio with seating to enjoy the band and a few arcade games as well. It's a bonus in my book when spots advocate and support local acts so White Tiger already has a soft spot in my book. (4.5/5)

I came her last week with my Yelp work crew to celebrate "life, success and our blessings" - DJ Khaled -I'm The One As my it was my first time coming here, it was nice to see a bar directly upon entry staffed full of bartending staff so there wasn't much of a wait for beverages. When walking past the bar and an old school cigarette machine, guests will see a service window for those who order late night eats from this spot. Past this, a hallway plastered with polaroid photos can be seen (some of which are rather risky). Beyond the hallway is an outside bar and performance stage. During the time, the crew and I were here, there was a Rock/Indie band performing, which was okay but it was the erratic dancing of drunk patrons that was proved to be much better than that the band (LOL)! The drinks were on par and not watered down which is a nice surprise as many places such at this will often be heavy of the price point but low on the alcohol. The service provided here was also friendly and swift. In addition, White Tiger is celebrated for its live music performances, showcasing local talent that enhances the vibrant nightlife of Austin. The venue frequently hosts a variety of genres, from rock to jazz, creating an electrifying energy that makes each visit unique. Whether you're looking to enjoy a casual dinner or dance the night away to live tunes, White Tiger is the ideal destination for an unforgettable evening in Austin. #supportlocal

Wings and dumplings

I got pork dumplings and wings with Dr.pepper sauce and heat level of "it's not that hot". Quick service, quality food, fantastic. Was in town for a trip and just wandered in, would recommend. Also, it's actually not that hot, accurate description, good sized meaty wings (pause). Chef very nice guy.

Front of bar. Good music!

Visited on New Year's Eve. Back patio was fun! Good interactive band. Tish and the MizzBehavin' Band was energized and fun. We had a good time! Front end was like a dive bar to stop in for a drink when we were there. Service was decent, fast and friendly.

I fell in love with the patio in the back. Also the vending machine for vapes. And the edamame. And the Photo Booth. And the $5 margs on Monday.

All I'm going to say is try the Buffalo Ranch Quesadilla!!! It is huge and filling for only $13. Waffle fries are pretty good too only $4. People are sleeping on the yummy food.

You walk in and immediately know you are not in some polished Instagram cocktail lounge. It is loud, a little gritty, and full of people who are clearly there to have a good time and not pretend otherwise. The beer is cold, the Lone Star flows like Texas water, and the vibe is pure old school Austin. And yes, the legendary bathroom situation deserves its own paragraph. The men's room features a giant ice filled trough for a urinal, which feels like something out of a 1970s roadside saloon documentary. Somehow it is both ridiculous and perfectly on brand. It actually becomes a conversation starter because you walk out laughing and immediately tell your friends they have to see it and go pee. The crowd was friendly, the bartenders were quick with the beers, and nobody was taking themselves too seriously. I ended up staying longer than planned, drinking Lone Stars and talking to random people like we had known each other for years. If you want craft cocktails served with a rosemary sprig this is not your place. If you want a hilarious, slightly chaotic, authentically divey night in Austin with cheap beer and great stories, Dirty Bill's absolutely delivers. Five stars and I would go back in a heartbeat.

They were spinning some popular tunes. The place was packed with a very fun crowd. It appears to be a bar you come to have drinks and chat. There was a small area where dancing could take place, but no one was dancing at the time. The staff including the general manager was super friendly. It felt like a wedding reception as you came into the club where you were greeted...very warm and welcoming. We had a drink and stayed a short while. It looked like a place you could come for a girls or guys night out or celebrating a fun occasion. Will definitely consider Dirty Bill's for a future fun evening...

My Yelp friend struck up an energetic conversation about Australia and New Zealand with two out of town guests. It turns out Nickel City is considered a must-do activity when visiting Austin, and I've even seen it listed as a tourist attraction. My friend's boyfriend and I talked about various Texas cities, the bar itself, and details about East Austin. The bartender was making faces at the fur baby, causing its ears to perk up...there seems to be a playful love-hate dynamic between them, especially since the bartender gave the pet some treats. Although the bar was busy, it wasn't too loud; it was easy to hear people talk without any trouble. I've now experienced Nickel City both during the day and at night.

I had a solo evening while on vacation with family, as my parents had dinner with friends. I had just walked over from Cuantos Tacos (which, go there, delicious), and planned on being here for maybe two drinks. Welp, lets just say I ended up sitting at the bar drinking and taking in the environment for 3-4 hours. As you'll see in the photos, I got suckered into a frozen drink (whip-it-good) and the Miami Vice. I also had a beer and some whiskey (not photographed). I had a great time, some people ended up talking to me throughout the time sitting at the bar, bartenders were nice even as the shift changed (or one bartender went on break for a long time). Either way, when i'm back in Austin, this will be in my rotation. I can see this place becoming insanely hectic on a friday or saturday evening, but that wouldnt be my jam. On a weds at 6pm-10pm, it was great.

Could not have begged more to order drinks or get a couple waters to a full table. I suggest tipping the musicians before being met with the lack of friendly service. I thought it was so cool beans and had to go check them out - and I did on Christmas Eve last year. Yeah, so last year Christmas Eve I was getting my last swim in. And spoke to a couple of buddies who I met there about what they were planning to do over Christmas. Well, both of them said not much and I told them I was gonna head over to this bar called Lala's that celebrates Christmas all year round. They also never heard of it, but we ended up meeting up there later that night. The place was packed, and everyone was dressed up in their Christmas sweaters, and there was a countdown clock to Christmas Day, which I thought was really cool. We hung out there until the clock past midnight and to a shot for Jesus's birthday. I don't think Jesus does shots on his birthday so we figured why not, it's a really big deal, and so we'll do a shot in his honor. Amen. My friends really liked the place and I enjoyed it. A few few months later, a friend of mine came in from out of town and I told her about this bar and she got excited and I took her there and she really enjoyed it too.
