Bar area

This review is tough to write. I've heard so many people tell me how much they love this place...I just didn't. It's a cute place inside - exposed beam, warm decor and inviting space. A small bar as you enter that was full when we came in. We sat at a small table in the bar area. Everyone was very nice and our waitress was attentive enough - but she seemed a bit busy. But all was fine service wise. So....the food. It's weird. Like trying too hard to be different but just didn't hit the mark for me. I see bread on a menu and I get excited! So immediately I ordered the Parmesan bread with dill pickle butter. The bread was warm and I enjoyed it but the butter with dill pickle just didn't work for me. Lots of other things to me could have complemented the bread better. Then we order the lettuce wraps, they were ok. My friend ordered the duck and I tried it and we both really liked it! The vegetables were good! My sirloin....the steak itself was good despite being a tad overcooked for medium rare. Something on the plate had a curry flavor - it just didn't all go together well. Then the lemon ricotta cheesecake....we didn't taste any lemon, it was thick and weirdly dry for a cheesecake. It also had freeze dried something on top....we actually weren't sure what. Some bright spots - the food quality! You can tell that these are top notch high quality ingredients, and the cocktails! They were yummy! I just don't like the weird combos and what (to me) feels like being weird for the sake of being different versus just being good. Since I only come up here a few times a season I likely will go to our other favorites or try new spots.

Halibut special

I love this place! I often sit at the bar and just love chatting with Emma but also live Joanne and all the team. Tonight I had the halibut special that was nothing less than spectacular. The corn added snap, ratatouille and green beans and fresh summer tomatoes. Honestly out of this world!

Finding great food near Bartlett and North Conway isn't that easy. Luckily every time we've been to this place, the dinners have been wonderful. We always make a reservation, because the place is always busy. We started with the "Sautéed Fiddleheads; a day-of special; due to the chef picking some that were growing outside of his apartment. This was such a treat. The Parmesan Bread was ok. More like Texas Toast, found in the supermarket. My wife's Ricotta Basil Gnocchi with Scallops (+16) was a great way to keep out the chilly mountain air. My Ancho & Garlic Grilled Pork Chop was tender, and went well with the salty Garlic/Thyme Hash Browns That entree was huge, and we took about half of it home (Made A Good Snack) We passed on dessert, since we had them all before in past visits. Our server Emma, was very outgoing, and excited for meal choices. There are only about 4 or 5 great restaurants, in the area. This is one of them !

Blue fin tuna, crispy chokes, jicama, cannot remember the delicious green sauce

Incredible staff, especially bartenders Emma and Rich. delicious food, great service, we love Zach, Brandon, Joanna. Friendly staff and creative cocktails

Tuscan Chicken Cacciatore & Kids Alfredo w/ Shrimp

Best meal we had on our trip! We decided to give this place a try after driving by because of its close proximity to our Airbnb. The outside is unsuspecting and our hopes were not very high as it is fairly difficult to find decent food in the area. We were pleasantly surprised! We arrived 30 minutes before they opened (unaware they were closed) and were still met with kindness and helpful staff who made a reservation for us for when they opened. We sat outside which was perfect with a toddler. Staff were very friendly and service was great. We were skeptical of the menu as it is limited but all of our meals were excellent. We were even shocked by the quality of the kids Alfredo with shrimp. Everything tasted fresh. A little pricey but worth every penny. Will absolutely be back!

Was the ambiance nice? Yes Was the food good? Yes Were the portions decent? Yes Was the server attentive? Yes Was it overpriced for what you actually receive? Yes For the general location, I didn't think the 5 entrees they offer warranted $32-$47 price tag. While it was a nice meal, not sure it's worth a second visit.

We were visiting from out of state so it was extra stressful to try to make this happen for my kid. Autumn Nomad really checked all of the boxes - from the minute I reached out to them, they were responsive, listened to what I wanted and sent pricing along with suggestions right away. We ended up going with a unicorn cake, with gf funfetti and blueberry filling. I visited the cafe to pick up (it's really lovely inside!) and the cake was ready when promised. My daughter was so excited and happy when she saw it! The cake tasted great, and I'm pretty sad that we don't live in the area to try them again. Would definitely recommend :)

What an adorable cafe!…read more We stopped in before we headed home to have coffee and breakfast. We arrived at a quiet point in the morning rush, but they do get very busy! Service is friendly and fast though even when they're packed. I had a turmeric maple latte which was unique and delicious. Along with that I had the Mountain Mama sandwich which had an egg, hummus, goat cheese, and vegetables on a super soft English muffin. It was delicious! My husband had a hummus bagel with cucumbers and tomato and it was a great light start to the day. We also tried a ham and cheese croissant which was good. It was the softer bread style croissant and had chopped rosemary ham and cheese which was delicious, I only wished there was more of it! I brought a maple molasses cookie and a butterscotch cookie home. They were both so delicious and chewy! My only criticism is I wish there was a touch more salt, but I'm nitpicking. Highly recommend stopping in for a light breakfast or lunch, and taking some baked goods for the trail!

The Sunrise Shack is hands down our favorite breakfast spot in the North Country. We've been to a…read morefew other good places in the Valley area, but this is the one we always find ourselves coming back to. The place is very small and because of that you have to check in at a small window before going inside. It can get very busy and always go mid week for that reason. What the Sunrise Shack lacks in size it more than makes up for with its personality and, of course, its yummy food. It's small yet cozy and homey. The staff is always welcoming and cheerful. And perhaps most importantly, the breakfast always hits the spot. During our most recent visit my boyfriend got blueberry pancakes and I got biscuits and gravy, which I had once before and had a hankering for it again. It was just as hearty and delicious as I remembered it from the last time. The blueberry pancakes were very yummy too. As a side note, if you ask for hot sauce with your meal they have a variety bucket for the table, which is a nice little bonus for hot sauce fiends such as myself. Whether you want your breakfast to be healthy or hearty, or whether you're filling up before going on a rigorous hike or going shopping in the North Conway town center, you simply can't go wrong with The Sunrise Shack.

I've wanted to try out their breakfast for a long time and now I finally did. Going for brunch on a Friday was a great idea even for a summer weekend. We got there a little after 11am and we were famished. My husband ordered their vegetable omelette with a side of bacon. I chose the Jim's Heartburner omelette which had chorizo, tomatoes, red onions and banana peppers in it. Both were delicious but I wish the omelettes were fluffier instead of being overdone. Home fries were decent. Service is friendly and excellent. Prices were just right. There's plenty of parking which is appreciated. Coffee was better than most breakfast places which is certainly something I notice.
