I had such an amazing experience at my very first time at a White Castle!! I went in instead of going to the drive-through and I'm so glad because the lady who help me at the register was beyond helpful so nice I did get cake on a stick and cheesecake on a stick and she put it in a separate bag away from my hot tasty burgers. I am not the biggest fast food fan in the world but seriously, who doesn't love White Castle?! It is a very rare occasion when I come to this spot but I honestly need to say I treasure the moments when I do. Going to the drive thru picking up food for the fam? BOOM crave case done. Wanna sit inside with a friend? That's pretty sweet as well because they have a bunch of different combos to satisfy your needs. Those mini burgers, I have a love/hate relationship. I mean, they are absolutely delicious and horrible because you really can't keep track of what your eating. You go to Wendy's or Burger King, you automatically order one burger because you know that's enough. Right? Ok so I've visited this location at least two other times a couple of years ago and nothing has changed. I was reluctant to use the drive thru because of past experiences and again I was disappointed. The drive thru cashier was annoying replying "I'm sorry what did you say"(2-3 times), however, no one is perfect; right? So anyway I should have known something was up when the car in front of me was waiting quite awhile(10 minutes). I was waiting so long that maybe I'm stretching the time..lmbo! When your hungry every minute is accounted for....it could have been five minutes but it felt like forever. So finally when I got to the service window I asked "$10.69" and she replied "no $10.75". I noticed her tone was a bit loud and I replied "Ok sweety... did you have your break yet". She then apologized and said "We're so busy". I accepted her apology but again I was turned off way off... First time at White Castle for someome who doesn't have this restaurant in their state. We stopped to grab a bite after a concert we went too before heading home. First off, was super disgusted by the bathroom. Looked like it hasn't been cleaned in ages and both toilets had gosh knows what on them.... Felt very uncomfortable ordering the food but did it anyways because I was able to watch then make the burgers and the women was wearing gloves. Burgers were small and cute. Had decent flavor too, but was impressed overall. I'm not used to a place that's open 24 hours w/ a lot of drunk people coming in and being rude. This also threw off the environment and enjoyment. Also, the guy behind us kept spitting on the seat and windows. Gross. Will NOT go back to this one if I'm ever in the area again. I don't even recommend it for the people that live here. read more

After watching Harold and Kumar go to White Castle in my teens, I've always wanted to give them a try. The bacon cheese sliders were tasty! I've heard many people complain that they are soggy because the buns are steamed, but I actually liked the steamed sandwich. The onion rings were bland and barely had a taste of onion. The fries were ok and my husband enjoyed his double sliders. The service left something to be desired as we had to repeat our order three times to get it correct... twice to the cashier and then a manager(?) came over to make sure it was correct. No special orders, just 5 sliders, an order of fries, an order of onion rings and one drink. AMAZING! It is White Castle. What else is there to really say? I frequent this location religiously. I never have an issue. I always come here every time i go to the DMV a few blocks away. Its a must. It has become a little tradition of mine. This place is so conveniently located by the bus stop. I have no complaints. The choice when you get there, is brave the drive through line which can go quick or take forever or of course the other option is park get out in sweats and a long under shirt and go inside to order decisions decisions. I chose to wait out the drive through if I'm out already what's another 10 mins either way? Tonite the line moved quicker than usual but still was slow. As far back as I can remember white castles always comes through in a pinch, especially if you need something to aid you from the room spinning. My personal favorite items off the menu are the jalapeno cheese burgers, chicken ring sandwiches with cheese and mozzarella sticks. The jalapeno cheese on the sliders just have the right amount of fire to warm your belly but not engulf it. The chicken ring sandwiches are just deliciously crispy and the mozzarella sticks just send you overboard into food coma heaven. Don't let me personal favorites stop you from exploring the menu, the fish nibblers are tasty as well as the classic sliders and fries. This particular location has been around since I was a kid and has always been clean and fast when assembling your order. Nothing says "home" to me quite like White Castle. While I'm not a huge fan of fast food, White Castle is my weakness. Long before Harold and Kumar made this place popular, I was coming here, to the location on JFK and Bergenline, with my older brother to grab some grub. Now I don't know if it's the sentimentality of it all or what, but there is no comparable emotion to that I feel when biting into a slider. I make it a marked point to come back to White Castle every time I come home to New Jersey. White Castle is that kind of place that you either love or hate, there is no in between. Try the sliders, I prefer them without cheese. The crinkle-cut fries are always crispy and delicious, though I invariably add more salt. The mozzarella sticks are as good as most diners, if not better. Now, the shakes at White Castle when I was growing up were always pretty epic, but I haven't had one in about 15 years, so try one for yourself. It's always been fun to stop by here after a night out and about with friends. This place is open 24 hours, and you're bound to run into the wackiest situations you can ever imagine if you come late at night. But that's still questionable I don't know how the staff has put up with all these drunk people in the drive-through all these years but the food always comes out really good at this particular White Castle I will never forget the day that Las Vegas got their first White Castle It was about four years ago I believe and it was located on the strip at Harrah's and me and my son and my nanny were so excited because my nanny is from Los Angeles and didn't believe that a white castle actually exist he thought it was only a movie I was so happy to take him to his first wife castle my son ordered a few and so did my nanny and they loved it they even had beer and the craziest part was they ran out of burgers I swear to God why castle ran out of burgers and I was there! White Castle... Ever since Harold and Kumar, that White Castle has had this reputation on the west coast of being the savior to all those drunk or high with the munchies! Unfortunately, I cant say I share the same love for the tiny little burgers with the onion crystals that burst full of flavor in your mouth. It was about 2am, and a couple of my buddies and were going back to North Bergen after a full day in NY. We got to Port Authority and saw there was one bus still running to North Bergen. HEY! there's still a bus that runs! North Bergen couldnt be THAT big, we can find our way back to the hotel... So we hop on this bus and a few minutes later bus driver says... End of the line, get off! So here we are kicked out into the middle of who knows where to fend for ourselves at 2am in the morning in the middle of North Bergen somewhere... As soon as we hop off the bus, there it was... WHITE CASTLE!!! Shining to us like a beacon of hope. With it's mythical burgers and climate controlled indoors (it was ~40F outside in December). AWESOME! So we walk into the white castle, and the first thing you'll notice.... There's bulletproof glass all over the front of the counter. So i thought... Damn... WHITE CASTLE! It's SOOOO good, they gotta keep people from jumping the counter to get to the back where the tastey goodness resides! So we go and put up our order and about 5 mins we have our burgers. But before we can taste the deliciousness that is white castle for the very first time, some girl barges into the restaurant crying and yelling at some guy. Well hey, it's 2am, crazy ass stuff happens. As they say... nothing good happens after 2am... So anyway, we finally get to the burgers and well... it's like the worst slider i've ever had... It was like in college when we would grill these 1/4lb patties. And if you leave em on the grill long enough, they become burnt, dry, and shrivel up to about the size of a slider. Total buzz kill... I'm not drunk enough for this S*@t. About 4 mins after this incredible disappointment, Popo rolls up to arrest this girl and guy. For what? Hell if know... Who called them? (white castle guys?) Now this one is all the way at the end of Kennedy Boulvevard, the very end of North Bergen. Its across the street from James J. Braddock Park. Yup, the same James J. Braddock who was the "Cinderella Man" that the movie was based on. See, i'm the man of useless trivia. this one is an okay White Castle. The inside is pretty small, so the line can get pretty long. And the parking lot itself is small as well, so people have to park at the diner next door. The drive thru is whacked because it has a deadly twist coming from where you order to where you pay. In fact, if you take the NJ Transit bus thru Blvd East - think the 166 or 165 local - that stop is actually announced as the "White Castle stop". And it's a popular one. This has been my go to White Castle location for the majority of my life. It is near my home, and work. My husband is a fan of white castles, and will often ask me to pick him up some when I'm on the way home from work. At times the service is slow, as it is in most fast food establishments. As reviews i make from time to time i give 5 star reviews to the best in class. While this is not a 5 star restaurant it is the best for the white castle / fast food catagory. I have had white castle all over the United States including its home restaurants in Cleveland. This is the best White Castle in the State of New Jersey and until i find another the best i have had anywhere in the United States. I have been to many white castles that i can only discribe as disgusting. Brian the manager truly shows the care in the food and the environment. The burgers are fresh delicious and well cooked. Being from the West, the closest I've ever been to a White Castle burger is at the local grocery's frozen section. I've been East a few times before but not once have I made a stop to White Castle until recently. That Crave Case was awesome. A whole case of 30 little yummy burgers! Drive thru speakers are too quiet. also the drive path is tight. there is only 4 inches margin of error before you hit the wall or scrape the fence. Listen, to me... this place needs a major overhaul! First thing they need to fix, is that dreaded drive thru. If you drive anything other than a golf cart, you're in trouble. If you pull into the drive thru too sharply, you're definitely going to hit the curb with your car. The mic, speaker, and order screen need to be replaced. The screen doesn't work, they can't hear you when you talk to them, and they sound like they're muffled when they talk to you. The inside of the place is not the cleanest, but you can tell they try. Other than that, I'm sorry... can't give them 4 stars cause they tend to mess up your order often. I stopped going through the drive thru cause they always mess up my order. True Story: I order a number one with cheese, no ketchup, no pickles... I get my food, it has everything on it. I tell the lady, excuse me... I ordered this without ketchup and pickles. I have been going to this White Castle for many years and I can say I am quite disappointed in lack of parking or inaccessibility of parking, or should I say, their inability to address the situation with the taxis, "dollar" vans, "buses" that park in the parking lot and take up space. Saw an operator asleep in one of them while taking up THREE parking spaces. When I visit my family in North Bergen, my father who is 83 yrs old, born with cerebral palsy and has a pace maker loves to go to White Castle to venture out and get some coffee. Today was one of those days, unfortunately it ruined his day because we drove around for a space while being frustrated at the spaces that were being used as parking lot for these vans.
