My wife and I were roaming the Upper West Side and decided to dip in to Lenwich as we were craving a nice sandwich for an early lunch. From the second you walk in, you can tell this is a new hip place. From the clean white walls to large open area and brightly lit counter space, it just felt as if it was it's opening day. I really appreciated the cleanliness & welcoming feel to the whole space (though I wish they did a better job of cleaning the outside patio area where we ate along with emptying the overflowing trash cans out there). The staff was also very friendly and helpful. It was clear that we weren't sure what we wanted so they were quick to ask if we needed any help and offered their personal suggestions. You could tell they really knew their menu and what each option offered. The sandwiches we both got were absolutely delicious. They were made to order and absolutely did not skimp on any of the ingredients. I tried the Lenwich which came out warm and goey in all the right ways. My wife got the Turkey Bree and said everything taste incredibly fresh. In all, our impromptu stop at Lenwich was a hit. The staff failed to correctly make a simple latte (no syrups, no alternative milk, nothing) and made it iced instead. Ordering through kiosk I was able to go through the menu&was able to choose what sandwich I wanted, what kind of bread that was available, if toastedif&wanted mayo, lettuce, etc. I chose the fish sandwich which was big&tasted good. I also tasted a bit of the chicken wrap from the person who was with me&also tasted good. The place was also clean&spacious&had a little more tables than other fast food places I've been to in the area. When you walk in your instructed to order in the back and then go to the register in the front to pay and wait for your order. I went with the chicken parm sandwich on ciabatta ($11.92). It took about 10 minutes to go through the pipeline and once they're completed with your order they call it out and you just pick it up. Overall a really well made sandwich for the price. This spot seems like your pretty standard modern sandwich shop that has a good amount of variety in what you're able to order.
