I've done both takeout and dined in, and it's always been a pleasant experience. The space is large, clean and quiet, and the staff are friendly and helpful. My go to protein is always the lamb meatballs, which are delicious. This time, I tried the braised lamb, which was juicy and tender. Their selection is always plentiful and fresh, and the dressings are tasty (I get them on the side). If you haven't tried the bottled blueberry soda, you should!! I came by CAVA - Edgewater for my post-workout meal. I used to go to the Paramus location, PERO... their service is basura, so I decided to go to this location instead. It opened a little over a year ago, so the interior is still new and shiny. There's plenty of available parking since it's in a large shopping outlet. I came past 9pm on Black Friday and I was worried that they would be out of a lot of items. I was pleasantly surprised because I was the only one in store and they were fully stocked! I opted for the Build-Your-Own Bowl option (~$12). My usual order is: brown rice, chicken, eggplant dip, tzatziki, crazy feta dip, corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled onions, feta cheese, pita crisps, olives, and Greek vinaigrette. The chicken was seasoned well and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. I go CRAZY for CAVA dips lol. The employee that made my bowl was very friendly as well. I wish the Paramus location could step up their game since they're much closer to me. I'll stick to coming to Edgewater from now on. read more

I went to Cava last Friday for lunch time and took my lunch to go. I ordered the Steak + Feta pita. It had Steak, Crazy Feta, red pepper hummus, feta, pickles, romaine, garlic dressing, Greek vinaigrette. The service was quick; I ordered my food and left within 7-10 minutes. The ambience was nice and quiet. There were a couple of people eating inside the restaurant. I also ordered myself the strawberry citrus drink. It was so refreshingly good since it was pretty warm out this day this past Friday around 80 degrees out. My steak pita was delicious too. I haven't had cava before so I have always been intrigued to give it a try. So happy I tried their food. This location is fairly new and was clean. I have loved CAVA for years and have been so thrilled that they have expanded into New Jersey! Their newish location in Edgewater was the nicest one I have been to yet. The counter staff was very friendly; the food was delicious; and the whole place was clean. I entered the spacious, sun-filled restaurant and headed to the counter to order my typical meal, which was a Build-Your-Own Salad Bowl, including: -Super Greens -Harissa -Red Pepper Hummus -Roasted Eggplant Dip -Grilled Chicken -Fiery Broccoli -Fire Roasted Corn -Salt-Brined Pickles -Tomato + Cucumber -Cabbage Slaw -Persian Cucumber -Kalamata Olives -Yogurt Dill Dressing on the side I grabbed my tray and headed over to the dining room's ample seating and selected a table. While they largely appeared spotless, I did notice that the tables were also somehow sticky, which was a phenomenon that I had also experienced at the Jersey City location. Regardless, I found a less gunky seat, peeled the plastic top off my bowl, and dug into the hearty, filling portion of fresh ingredients. Each dip and topping was better than the last, and they all really blended well together. My only negative comment would be that 2 or 3 of the chicken pieces were a bit fatty, though they were also still tender. On Saturday, I had to e pleasure of visiting Cava for the grand opening of its Edgewater location. This location is in the same plaza as the Target and Acme. They rang in the event with a Community Day. In addition to celebrating the opening of the restaurant, Cava also used this as a philanthropic opportunity. They were accepting and matching credit card donations up to $1000, with proceeds going to their local community partner Table to Table, New Jersey's first food rescue organization. At Saturday's event, we were able to sign up for a 15 minute pick up slot to pick up a free meal and drink. When we arrived there were employees by the door who greeted us and ushered us in. Surprisingly, there was no wait. They were very well staffed - at least 8 people were behind the counter. We got right on line and ordered our meals. We had the choice between a bowl and pita. I ordered a bowl with rice, honey chicken and cucumber tomato salad . You also get the Choice of a sauce, so I got tzatziki. I really liked the variety of options. The food seemed healthy but also flavorful. The chicken was spicier than I expected but still tasty. Overall, this was a pleasant experience and I'm grateful I was able to come in and try them out. Cava just opened in Edgewater. We went to try it. The place was clean with plenty of seating room. The food was flavorful and ingredients fresh. Service was great - the people we met made an effort to answer questions and be of service. I would recommend trying the drinks - got a cucumber lemonade. It was very good. All the drinks were good. It was nice to be able to make my own bowl. I added rice, a protein and veggies. Was nice to have a tasty, well balanced meal without having to cook it. Cava has surprisingly become my favorite semi fast food spot. It's like the Greek Chipotle so I was glad when a new one opened up in the area. This particular Cava is a little smaller than the other ones I've been to. It's hard to believe this was an Italian restaurant before this. When I got I usually get a bowl with a little bit of rice , chicken, tzatziki, red pepper hummus, and all the fixings. I like the variety of toppings they have and the dressings are so good. My favorite is yogurt dill. If you're looking for a decent healthy quick meal then cava is it. The portions are great. If I had to sum up this place in one- two words, it would be "Mediterranean Chipotle". For $11.15 pretax, you can build your own bowl or pita choosing between splitting the bases of saffron rice, brown rice, lentils or arugula salad. I picked saffron rice over 1/2 Harissa honey chicken (extra costs), 1/2 lamb with a falafel. There is unlimited toppings such as corn, tomato, olives, fried noodles and avocado(extra cost). A couple of things - the food in general was lovely especially being able to build my own bowl. However, note that if you picked harissa chicken over regular chicken, it will cost extra. Avocado will also cost extra. It was between $1.50-$2. The lamb was somewhat disappointing because it was too gamy and could use some flavor. Otherwise, the food was fresh and the tahini sauce and hummus was nicely done. The bowl comes with a side of sliced pita bread. Overall, I would rate this 3.8 stars for flavor and options. read more

Good food, line to order on was a bit problematic. No one seemed to be sure of their station and were going back and forth creating a lot of confusion for employees which slowed service down. I ordered a chicken & rightrice bowl. When I got to topping section they had no feta!!! How could this place not have feta since it's supposed to be in certain bowls and sandwiches? Not to mention it's like 10% of their menu. She asked if I wanted something else so I asked for avocado and she said she couldn't without charging me for it. I told her "but your missing part of the item I ordered " she didn't care and became annoyed I even asked. It's not my fault you ran out of feta you clown !!! I went to Cava at Edgewater Commons and ordered a Greek Salad. Upon receiving my salad, I started to mix all the ingredients when I saw a long Black hair in the Salad. I am blond. I went to the cashier and showed her the salad. She apologized and offered a refund or have a new salad made. I have eaten there before and didn't have any issues so I said another salad please. She told me to have a seat, they would make a new salad and bring it to me. I said great. I waited and waited, no one was making my salad. I finally caught her eyes and she then told me I had to get on the line again. I wasted my lunch hour to leave with a refund. Poor customer service. No one seemed to be in charge.
