This is my go-to location. I have been coming here for the last few years, however the last visit was not the best. This visit reminded me of why I loved this spot. The Impossible Standard burger and fries were good. The Hibiscus Margarita was great, I had two. The food was delivered in a timely manner and the service was great.

I haven't had a burger at a sit-down restaurant in awhile so I was interested in coming to Bareburger. Originally I thought Bareburger would be more of a fast-casual place like 7th Street Burger so it surprised me quite a bit as I realized it was an actual restaurant. We had to wait a bit in the beginning as the 2 waiters were pretty busy clearing up all the tables, but despite the lack of personnel, they were very efficient which I was very impressed with. - The National - This was a pretty typical burger with bacon. I did appreciate the slightly warmed-up pickles that helped balance out the hefty meaty flavors. I can't say this burger was very memorable however, it tasted like a less greasy version of 7th Street Burgers. - Sweet Potato Fries - Surprisingly there was a huge quantity of these fries. Their fries are top-notch as they are all crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I didn't need any additional sauces as the flavors were very evident throughout. Overall, okay place for burgers. I felt like it was a little expensive as 2 burgers, 1 milkshake, and 1 side came out to be $50+ at the end.

Weirdest experience of my life. I've been in the service industry for years at this point, and never been treated like such an inconvenience. My friend and I get seated and he asks for a dirty soda, the woman who sat us said she doesn't take orders and our server would be over in a second, but she'd put it in. She sure doesn't. Oh well, whatever. We start looking at the menus and our server is explaining how the menu works to both tables on either side of us. He doesn't come to us for another 5 minutes at least. My friend orders a hefeweizen beer from the beer list. 10 minutes go by and the beer isn't there. Come to find out, after trying to make eye contact and flag our waiter down for that whole 10 minutes that they don't even have that beer anymore. Ok. Sure. We order. He gets the bison blues and I get the two smash burger deal, I ask how big they are, he says oh they're not. Just a potato bun. Ok I'm thinking 2 will be fine. I get them med well. Food comes out, I have 2 McDonald's quarter pounder looking burgers. They're huge and I don't even think there's salt on them. They're also like 1/4 inch thick (which isn't a smash burger btw) and completely pink in the center. Idk how you even do that with a burger like that, likely frozen. After trying to eat around the pink but being generally disgusted by how soft and unflavorful it is I just give it back to our server, I tell him I just can't eat it and he takes it back. We do not see him again. We pay on the QR code and are on our merry way. He did take off my burgers which was nice (albeit expected at this point) but honestly I can't see myself returning. It was busy inside but we counted 3 (probably) servers and a bartender in the tiny place. It was also like 2/3pm on a Sunday.

My burger felt super small! Or is that just me?? It was delicious and my truffles fries were too. I ordered a skinny margarita to wash it all down. My server was great even though it was super busy. The staff treated me well and the restaurant was well maintained. Maybe next time I'll grab a milkshake.

Wanted to check out this place since they're partners with one of our CC companies (Bilt), which gives 10x points here on the weekdays. Speaking of which, I'd strongly recommend coming here on the weekdays since it's packed with families and kids on the weekends. Btw, don't use the the QR code for paying if you can help it. It costs an extra 89 cents. They're abysmally slow and definitely need to increase staffing (there were only 4 staff members in the entire restaurant). We waited simply to get our order in for about 20 minutes and it took another 20 to get our food; probably could've gone elsewhere. They didn't even give us napkins or utensils; we had to grab them ourselves. Food-wise, it's fine. I don't think the food here is overpriced but it's not exactly cheap either. The Paul Bunyan was tasty, albeit a bit small. I'd say the Truffle Fries aren't worth the price; save the $10 and make it yourself. I do like that they provided free popcorn, and the napkins were thick. Overall, I would only come back because this place is nearby.

i ordered spicy bacon ranch style fries and theres one bacon and no ranch?? as shown in the photo it is so dry tears. dont order that but maybe their burgers are good !

I ordered a veggie black bean burger, fries, and a margarita. It was a bit busy so it took a while for drinks to come out (they came after the food). Regardless, the food was fairly good and the server was friendly. The margarita was a tad too sweet, but the variety (including mezcal options) that they had was pleasantly surprising for a non-Mexican restaurant

I saw this place based on google reviews and they were really good, so I'm shocked the reviews are so low here. We came here with a group of 4. We spent a long time looking at the menu, and it did take quite a bit of time for them to take our order, about 15 to 20 minutes. This was my only complaint, but I didn't mind too much because our server was very helpful and sweet, and did apologize for the wait. I ordered the Spicy Paul Banyan, and it had the perfect kick. It was my first time having a bison burger and I liked it. I really couldn't tell that it wasn't beef though. The patty was a bit bland compared to other burgers I've had, but the sauce and the jalapeños really brought it all together. The brioche bun was a nice addition. I got the truffle fries and they were delicious. My husband had the sweet bison wagyu sliders. Those were bomb, the blue cheese added a great salty flavor, and the wagyu was delicious. He also had a PB caramel shake that was so good. It was so thick and creamy and I could taste all the flavors. I recommend this place if you want a good solid burger and a variety of options. I wish I could have tried them all.

Great burger place to dine in or take out! I usually go to the location at FiDi but this was my first time at upper west side! Usually order the bison or elk burgers! What's good about these burgers is that they're all natural and organic! A bit pricey but with the try!! They have many sauces too!!

    Emma M.

I loved the experience but was a little disappointed that they didn't have the Wagyu burger anymore though it might have just been a temporary promotional thing. I ended up ordering a cheeseburger with veggies in a collared green wrap. It was delicious though they forgot the cheese and I had to add in my own mozzarella. I always love ordering from Bareburger, and it was nice to try something new for a change. I usually order the gluten-free bun which is also nice, but I'm glad that I went with the collared greens this time around. The burger was pretty good, and I'm happy with my order, as are my parents who ordered the elk and the impossible patty. They also gave so many pickle slices when we asked for extra pickles on the side which was generous.

bro look at this it genuinely looks sad asf- wagyu cheeseburger idgaf

NOOOOO not the millennial burger joint that my friend is scared of. so if they were so scared why did they recommend it for us to get for dinner. it was literally a mile away so we ran there. like bro i was wearing my converse why did you want to run. oh well. we ran and i wasn't that tired which is awesome cuz that means my training is working and my friend was in cross country and out of breath i wonder what that means. anywaysssss we got there and ordered. i got this wagyu thing for like $12 and my friend got like fried chicken and then my other friend didn't want to come with us and ordered online. we ended up waiting like 30 mins for the food which was long and the vibes were lowkey weird. like they seemed mean. once we got our food we ran all the way back and it was cold af so by the time we ate the food it was cold af. but then my wagyu came with fries and bro it just looked so sad. and honestly it tasted bad too. i will never go again cuz why was that mid af and i ran all the way there for THAT. 2 stars bro bffr.

He mentioned to me that he knows a place in the neighborhood that has really good burgers. I usually go to my familiar spots, but I figured the way he was talking this place up for their burgers, I might as well give it a shot. Why not right? So we enter "Nobody Told Me", which is a new venue in the neighborhood, at least to me. It was cool. We sat at the bar. I asked for a menu and the Bartender just pointed to the menu that's on the wall. So I made my selection of Burger. I'm honestly probably a boring Burger person because for the most part I just like meat, cheese and bun. I mean, a nice fried egg over easy doesn't hurt. I've also done that with some mac & cheese, and it was incredibly delicious but also, very gluttonous to say the least. lol. In any case, I ordered my burger. Meat, cheese, and bun. I think it was a double Patti Smashburger maybe? And it came with some fries. The burger was good. It was actually better than what I expected. It was juicy without being all bloody and had flavor. It was also a pretty good size.. I mean I couldn't finish it.. I don't eat huge portions or meals.. The fries were good too. I might request a bit more crisp on the fries if I go back. That's just me.. But they were good nonetheless. Burger and fries also had a bit of a lite oniony flavor to them.. I guess to add some flavor.. As far as the vibe in the spot, it was cool. Room was dim as it was day time outside so it was chill. Seemed to be a pretty young crowd of new people who have recently moved in the neighborhood. Who knows? I've only lived here for 50 years.. but it was a cool experience.. They had some cool music playing lightly so you can carry a convo.. In any case, if you are looking for a pretty good burger, I'd give this place a try.. And there you go! Have a great one yall! -Ray

A friend and I chose to experience the Restaurant Week lunch special since neither of us had been to this restaurant before. We sat at the bar and decided to go for the $19 lunch special they serve Monday - Friday instead. We had alot of staff servicing us. Even though we sat at the actual bar, we had a floor server attending to us as well as the bar staff. We even met the manager, Tiffany, as she introduced herself to us and made sure we were taken care of properly. The UWS location is huge. It is about 2/3rds of a North/South block with an enclosed patio built in the front of the restaurant. The bar is simply beautiful. It is half inside and half on the sidewalk also semi enclosed. I did not walk around the inside of the restaurant but I did see there were alot of mirrors and a darker interior. Bar was filled with liquor on the walls and gave it a modern day saloon feel. Very comfortable and inviting. We ordered drinks initially. They were carefully crafted and tasty on a hot summer day. I ordered the Waldorf Salad lunch special and my friend had the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I must say the portions are large. They make sure you do not leave hungry! :) Both entrees came with soup and a second side. I had the biscuit and honey/maple butter. Oh my was it heavenly. My friend was super satisfied with her sandwich. It looked like a meal fit for a Queen! All of the food was seasoned well. While we were still enjoying our meal the bar changed from lunch to happy hour service. My friend decided to order the Margarita flight. It came with three flavored margaritas for a mere $12. I tried the Spicy Brine Margarita and it will now be the only drink I have for future visits. So delicious and flavorful. We were having such a great time as the bar filled with patrons and we spoke with our neighbors. At this time one of our servers brought us a complimentary pretzel. It was the star of the show from presentation to taste I would recommend anyone to try it. The bathrooms are unisex. By the time I needed to use it the restaurant was crowded and so it needed to be serviced. The stall I utilized had a strong urine smell and needed a proper cleaning. Management might consider placing air fresheners in each stall to at least give the illusion of cleanliness. This restaurant raised the bar for hospitality! The service was top notch as well as the food and atmosphere. If you have not tried this place I highly suggest that you do. It is a 100 out of 10 establishment for NYC! My gratitude goes out to all of the wait staff and bartenders that made our experience so wonderful.

What I loved most was the patio: it's partially open and partially enclosed, letting you enjoy plenty of natural light while staying cool in the air conditioning. It gives you the feeling of dining outdoors without the noise or wind from the street. The interior design is beautiful and adds so much to the experience. Let me be clear, the main redeeming aspect of this place is the talent on stage. The musicians were exceptional and deserved far better than the environment surrounding them. I ordered a scotch neat, something I'm very familiar with, and immediately knew something was off. When I politely flagged down a waiter, he responded with visible annoyance, as if I was inconveniencing him by being a paying customer. I explained the issue and simply asked if it could be checked or replaced. Instead of addressing it professionally, he walked away without a word, returned holding the bottle and my glass, and said, "this is what you were poured," before carelessly tossing the drink back onto the table. No apology. No explanation. Just attitude. It escalated from there. When I confronted him about his behavior, he denied it outright and then doubled down with an aggressive, confrontational stance, getting in my face and effectively threatening me. His exact words? "If I tossed your drink on the table, it would have been all over you!", and "Man, shut yo ass!" Completely unprofessional and unacceptable in any setting, let alone an establishment that positions itself as upscale. The manager's response was just as disappointing. Instead of addressing the behavior of his staff, he blamed me, asking why I "chased" the waiter and suggesting I should have gone directly to him. That's not how basic customer service works. I tried to resolve the issue directly, respectfully, and without escalation, something his employee clearly had no interest in. I was thinking if I talk to the waiter first, he wouldn't get in trouble with his manager. To make matters worse, the manager continued to defend the waiter rather than de-escalate the situation. At that point, it was clear this wasn't a one-off issue; it's a reflection of how this place operates. I paid my bill and left. For a venue that attracts world-class jazz talent, it's astonishing how low the standard of service is. This place is doing a disservice to the artists who perform there. I will never return, and I would strongly caution anyone expecting a professional, respectful experience to look elsewhere.
