I have no complaint about the quality of the food. It is definitely high standard. Meat is good, chicken, fries, meat alternative burgers. All good. Maybe the bun can be a little more supportive for the sauce and meat juice. The problem I have is the service. My family waited one hour for the food!!! We ordered some basic burgers. The restaurant was pretty empty and it didn't seem to be too busy with phone/website orders. My kids went crazy. I went crazy. And after spending so much time there when I get the check and the waiter charge me for 2 lemonades even though he told me before it is an acceptable replacement for the tasteless apple juice that my kids hate, I just leave and let him have those extra dollars. Bareburger is really expensive for a not so great burger. For three lunch special I paid almost 60 dollars. And I dont think its was really worth it. We just arrived in New York yesterday night and decided, although jet lag was killing us already, to test this Bareburger we reviewed 2 days ago since my partner is vegetarian. Well how to say.. THIS WAS NUTS. Seriously. The entire staff was really kind, with a huge smile on the face, dedicated to help - food was amazing, we both enjoyed it and for us, as Belgians, fries is a thing. Came here thinking I could squeeze in a quick no frills dinner. This note isn't about the food, it's about the service. Whoever is managing this place needs to hire more staff. It was obvious there were only a couple of people there running around frantically. 10 mins to get anyone to notice there were multiple parties at the host stand and eventually someone seated me by basically just glancing in the general direction of a table without saying anything. And then doing it a second time when I didn't know that meant "hello please sit there". Sat there for at least 20 minutes before someone ran by and dropped off a cup of water and ran away before I could try to order... it was not very busy, despite being a Saturday night at 6pm, but every table that did have people was just looking aimlessly around for a person to come take their order, or bring them the check, or whatever it was they needed. By the end we had formed a community of understanding just through our constant looking around for someone, anyone... Whoever's managing this location... pull it together. I have passed this place several times and it always smelled so good, after a year of smelling the burgers I finally gave it a try. The burger did not disappoint. We also got a fried chicken sandwich which was delicious. The vegan milk shake was also really good, it's very coconuty as a heads up, but I was a fan. The best part of all is the reasonable prices. I have been going to this location for takeout and also ordering via Uber eats now for a while, and I have to say that the customer service here is really above par. I really like the staff here, and despite a couple of very minor things that have gone wrong with orders (eg: toppings missing) the food is always delicious, hot and on time. This is the closest location to my house, so I frequent here more than the other locations, and I can say so far I have not met a Bare Burger restaurant that I didn't like. The fact that they have the impossible burger for me always makes me happy, but they also have other options for nonmeat eaters that should make people happy. And my friends who do eat beef say that the beef burgers are amazing, so I'll take their word for it! The downside: The rings and fries are my fave, however there is no option to order sauces on Uber Eats, and plus they charge .65 cents for two pumps of sauce. More sauce please! read more

Bareburger for a Rareburger! This burger joint ha locations all over NYC and I have been to most of them. Since this locations on the UWS you guessed it... It is filled with families and little kids running around. Also don't forget to ask for crayons to draw because adults like to color too. When I got here there was no wait and go a nice table along the wall the one downside was that the air conditioner for the building was really loud. The waitress who served us was really nice and I got the standard burger (beef, Colby cheese, stout onions, dill pickles, special sauce, on a brioche bun) , with fries to share that comes with dipping sauces and Brussels spouts because ya know I'm trying to stay healthy lol. When the food arrived it came out perfectly and was delicious my burger was cooked exactly how I wanted it the fries were crispy and the Brussels sprouts were not to oily. Very disappointed that I had to sit here for 40 min nearing an HOUR to wait for my simple burger and fries and it seems like I wasn't the only one. I'll give 20 min of that time some leeway because I ordered online and the online ordering service said that my food wouldn't be ready for another 20 min. Since I was in the area, I decided to just go there straight hoping that if I showed my face, they could maybe expedite my order since they knew I was there waiting but NOPE, not at all. I'm very disappointed with having to waste so much time on my Sunday. In addition, the guy told me when I got there that I could have a seat and that he would come out to bring my food. I dined at this particular location twice during my time in New York. The first time, my takeout order was perfection. I opted for the build your own veggie burger and adde cheddar cheese, along with the chickpea onions and the vegan bbq sauce. It was simply amazing! The second time, I ordered the same thing, but they somehow got the cheese selection mixed up and it kind of ruined the experience. The waitress brought out a slice of cheese that was cold as opposed to taking my burger back and remaking it correctly. It wasn't great. Their sweet potato fries are good, but not the best I've had. Had the American burger with onion rings here. The burger was great, the patty was sizeable and fresh. The onion rings I received weren't much, but they were large, so it made up for it. It was a bit expensive for just a regular American burger with bacon and fries, without a drink. Although, it's understandable for the location. It also seems like it's more of a restaurant than it it's a burger spot, so that should add to the above average price. Like other reviewers have mentioned, there's a bit of a wait time to receive your order. This could attest to the fact that the burgers are made fresh (they ask you how you'd like it done). I thought there would be more generous pieces of the brisket but there wasn't. Nonetheless, definitely a high quality burger. I would recommend the Buckaroo if you're looking for something smokey with minimal-to-no veggies on it. I think next time I would try a different burger on the menu. Stopped in to this new Bareburger location for lunch on a Wednesday. First of all, the restaurant is really cute and I liked the vibe. Our waitress was also so friendly and attentive. I've actually never been to a Bareburger before so this was an awesome, new experience for me. What an unbelievable list of burgers! And surprisingly good salads, too, for those more inclined to choose rabbit food! We had the Buckaroo (hamburger topped with cheddar, wild mushrooms and BRISKET!) and the Blue Elk (elk burger topped with blue cheese, bacon, stout onions and tomato fig jam). Yeah...these are not your typical burgers. Both were excellent although elk meat is leaner than the beef and therefore the elk burger itself was less juicy and a bit drier. This place has an extensive menu of customizable burgers with tons of vegan options. You can choose between the Beyond Meat patty, the Impossible patty, or their house-made veggie burger patties. They have all their vegan ingredients clearly listed. The normal bun is not vegan friendly, but they have some whole grain bun that is, as well as collard greens available to wrap the burger in. They have vegan cheese and vegan sauces as well, including vegan mayo. The french fries are fried in vegetable oil and are listed as vegan friendly on the menu. Best of all, they have vegan shakes! The mint cookie shake I had was incredible. The main downside of this place is that it can get pretty expensive when you start adding things to your burger and ordering fries and shakes. Still, it is an amazing option for vegans in the area and a good place to go with a group of people who have multiple dietary restrictions. read more

Let me start off by saying that the service on Saturday afternoon September 3rd was excellent. One server was handling all the tables and she made it look easy. Now the food. They changed the menu a bit which isn't a bad thing, they added elk meat which I was tempted to try but I'd been craving Bareburger for a week so I stuck to regular beef. I was crushed to find out they only cook their burgers one temperature now so I couldn't get my usual rare burger. When the burger came out I notice that it was smaller and made with two patties instead of one thicker patty. Disappointment number two. The plate was also covered in burger drippings so I prepared myself for a dry burger and that's what I got. Disappointment number three. I'm not in the habit of sending food back so I paid my check and left. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is because while the burger was dry it was still tasty and like I said before the service was impeccable. My friend ordered but I paid so I can review. I know this is New York but $77.50 for three burgers? Ok Bison burgers maybe that is why they were so small and thin. The sprout bun was mush on the bottom it fell apart and I had a lap of onions to deal with. The lettuce was wilted, not because of the warm (not hot) burger. The two end cuts of tomato were small stacked on top of each others not covering the small burger and were not ripe yes to form and tasteless. The bacon was cooked this morning and resembled jerky it was so hard. The onion rings were over cooked and room temperature. To top it off it was ordered for 7:30 delivery and arrived at 6:37.
