    Gochujang chicken sandwich
    Anne F.

I had heard about Chick Chick once, in passing, about two years ago, and it wasn't until recently that I finally got the chance to try it. My friend and I came here at her suggestion, and I was so glad she recommended it. Chick Chick blew me away with its flavors. While my friend ordered the chicken sandwich (which she liked), I ordered the gochujang half chicken. The chicken was crispy and coated in a sticky gochujang sauce that was both savory and sweet. It was delicious, and I ate it happily. The chicken was topped with crushed peanuts, which I think would have been better had it been topped with roasted garlic instead. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my order and would get it again. We also ordered the truffle parmesan fries, which were the best I've ever had - and I've had plenty of parmesan fries in my lifetime! The grated parmesan was particularly precious. It had that wonderful slight funk with a hint of umami. It was so good, I didn't want to waste a single morsel. Although I did have my eyes on their mochi donuts, I was so full by the end of the meal that I vowed to return for it. Chick Chick, save a seat for me - I'll be back.

Upper West - Crispy Waffle Chicken Sandwich

Oh boy. This sandwich was DECADENT. The fluffy, airiness, and crispness, of Korean fried chicken never ceases to amaze me. The Upper West Chicken Waffle Sandwich was so good. Two of us shared, and it was definitely enough to satisfy us. I think if you are one alone you would have no choice but to take a nap afterwords LOL. Eating the acidic pickles, with the creamy/fresh slaw, topped with the salty bacon, all on that sweet spicy gochujang chicken and blanketed in a sweet sweet waffle was like biting into a piece of heaven. You really took this bite by bite to soak in the flavors. This is where I wish I was born a cow so I'd have three more stomachs to stuff with chicken. But alas. The spot is cozy, dark, with neon lights. They have these two person booths, which probs the narrowest seat on earth, but other than that it was a nice warm spot to be on a cold winter night.

Hands down, some of the best Korean fried chicken there is! Perfectly crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, sauced to perfection! The see fried rice cakes paired so well with the chicken bites! The waffle and chicken sandwich were phenomenal! Everything from the crunch of the slaw to the umami of the cheese, the sweetness of the pickles and spice from the sauce played so well to the crunchy chicken, soft waffle, and crispy bacon. There is absolutely nothing I would change about that UWS sandwich. When you're there, don't sleep on the kimchi mac and cheese! The kimchi cuts through the richness of gooey cheesy pasta , making incredibly addicting. Definitely will be retuning to try their fried rice and salads!

Yum yum! Got the chicken sandwich and it was so crispy and satisfying. The chick chick sauce is also so good! If you're not a fan of honey mustard, then this might not be your thing. But 10/10! Service was really good! Fast, friendly, alert, and didn't rush you. There's no AC, ya'll. It was hot. Bring your handheld fans. I also sat in the booth and those seats are tiny and not very comfortable. They also only sit 2 people? Maybe the ones in the back could accommodate more. But honestly, just sit at the bar or on one of the stools. It's also a good spot for small groups. This is why I took a star off :/ But food: 10/10. I'm excited to come back and try the other menu options!

I have come twice in the span of less than 3 weeks so that's a good sign. The first time I went I ordered the ten wings with the Korean Sweet Gochujang. The first time I came these wings were perfect the crispiness the amount of sauce just excellent. Yesterday when I order the same wings they were good but not as crispy. They were fine but my first visit was better. Then I ordered the biscuit on both of my visits and both times; I loved the biscuit. Yesterday because I had more people I was able to order more things such as the street corn, the truffle fries and the chicken sandwich. The street corn was good and off the cob which made eating it easier. The truffle parm fries were good and my niece loved them. I think they were fine nothing to reorder. Let's talk about this Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. This sandwich was amazing the chicken was crispy, flavorful and well seasoned. It was spicy but not overly spicy which did not allow you to enjoy the food. The white sauce with the sandwich helped to balance out the spicesness. It was quite delicious and I definitely recommend this spicy sandwich. For my niece the sandwich was too spicy for her but I was able to enjoy it. The service was great; they were really friendly and the food came out fast. The place is nice, small, and cozy. I recommend this place fully and there booths are small.

5/5: TLDR - Perhaps on the pricier side depending on what you get, service was a bit of hit or miss and a bit small but when it comes to the food you can tell the craft is there! Ordered: - KSG Sandwich: 5/5 - The sandwich is a mess. Like in the way that you won't find a clean finger to use until you wash your hands. Do not recommend if this is a date or you're trying to impress someone but it was really delicious. I would've thought given the size of it it would've made me lethargic but it being made the way it was, it doesn't leave you heavy at all! A good choice - Biscuit: 3/5 - Was raved by the server. I thought it was a fine biscuit. Nothing to write home about. - Fries: 3/5 - Just...fries, also nothing to write home about. Service: 3.75/5 It was just fine. I think it was giving me the same kind of energy of someone who was new so they felt a little trepid? They never really checked in on us that much and our water wasn't refilled until it was well past empty even though at this point there aren't that many customers in the store. I'm only one to notice the lack of water because I am just a generally thirsty person. Ambiance: 4/5 Its a cute spot! It is small though so during busier times I'm sure you could expect a wait! It is an open kitchen as well and a bar next to it so if you get hot easily definitely don't sit at the bar. I would still recommend this place if someone was in the area!

The inside of Chick Chick is set up like a very narrow diner. 10 diner counter seats. 5 or so tables and more counter seats by the window counter too. The place was Michelin rated in 2022. We ordered super tenders with the sweet gochujang sauce, heavenly crispy bites (popcorn chicken bites) sweet and spicy, 2 sides of white kimchi slaw, 2 sides of pickles, truffle parm fries and a K&Q by Christine salad too. $93.63 The truffle parm fries are good, crispy and thin. The salad isn't too bad, heavy on the Parmesan slices, but still an interesting blend of tastes and textures too. Can't decide if I like it or not. Lots of quinoa it. Not a big fan of the white kimchi slaw, more creamy than I was expecting. The heavenly crispy bites with the rice cakes is really good. The rice cakes are nice and chewy and the sweet and spicy sauce makes it really good. The chicken is tender and perfectly cooked. The chicken tenders are decently sized. The sauce is good too. Had thought the waiter meant 3 big slices of pickles, not 3 spears of pickles. They are more sweet, was hoping for dill for some reason in my head, but I didn't ask either. Service was attentive and good for us. The heavenly bites was by far the best part of our meal. Solid 4. The rest of the meal was average.

Yum! I thought this place was delicious AND had great value. I was able to split a 1/2 chicken order with someone and we still had leftovers for $16. Ordered the Soy Garlic flavor and I liked all of the crispy bits on it. We also ordered a side of white kimchi slaw. My favorite hack is to pour some of the fried chicken crispies on top of the slaw for a sweet and savory dish. The service was great and attentive. We visited close to closing time so the space wasn't too crowded. It was perfect for being able to chat at a normal volume with my group. I'd return here for a group visit!

Such a fun spot! In all honesty, I'm not a *huge* fan of fried chicken. I typically feel incredibly lethargic after eating large amounts of it as an entree. So I was a bit wary of coming here when my friends suggested it. But I ended up pleasantly surprised by the food! I think Chick Chick may have changed my mind about fried chicken. We ordered a grape soju cocktail and 2 half chickens: 1 with soy garlic sauce and 1 with sweet gochujang sauce. This was more than enough for three hungry people. Each piece was coated in a generous amount of sauce, and the skin somehow wasn't soggy--each bite had a delightful crunch to it. The gochujang wings were great and the soy garlic ones were just fantastic. Two of us ended up ordering small bowls of rice to eat with the chicken. I recommend eating the chicken with rice; it really elevates the dish. Super fun, cheap place to grab a bite with friends. We will definitely be back again!

    Chicken & French Toast

After seeing the delicious photos on Yelp, I knew I had to come try. This place was definitely worth the hype. You have to try the truffle Parmesan fries. They were super crispy, decorated with fresh shaved Parmesan, and held a lot of truffle flavor. It also came in a big portion so it was definitely worth it. The soy pepper chicken wings are also a must. Super juicy and crispy wings with smoky soy and pepper flavor. The chicken and French toast was ok. There was too much syrup and it overpowered the dish. The chicken wasn't very flavorful and the French toast was a little undercooked. The sandwich was amazing. I'd definitely come back to try all of their menu items.
