After exploring the lakes around the area, we were excited to splurge a little and check out the most expensive restaurant in Bishop, Ca. Whiskey Creek. The menu had all the right choices snd everything looked pretty good. It was happy hour 1/2 off any drink so we got this night started right. Happy hour... We ordered the boiling spinach dip as an appetizer which came out promptly and looked appealing. After digging through a very tough thick layer of mozzarella, we were disappointed. The dish had no flavor, just bland. We ate a few bites but the majority of it sat on the table until our waiter took it away. Happy hour... My wife got the filet and I got the ribeye. Sad to say again, no flavor and the meat was tough. I'm guessing it was grade select at best. I don't feel the price was worth the bite. Again, disappointed. The ribeye made a delicious breakfast for my dogs the following morning. Service was great! Ambience was a typical steak house. Happy hour... The deserts rocked. My wife ordered the cream brûlée which was delicious! I ordered the gooey browny with ice cream. The brownie was hot and the ice cream was just melted to perfection. Over all experience was blah. Just had lunch here. We were hesitant because steakhouse, Thai and saxophone music seemed like such an unusual combination. Glad we did though because we are leaving with full, happy bellies. Beautiful, clean restaurant. Excellent service and the food was delicious. My husband ordered the bbq bacon cheeseburger. It's that type of burger where you can tell the meat was hand portioned out. Thick juicy patty! I ordered the Cesar salad. Lettuce was nice and crisp, dressing was house made and super tasty! I also saw the table next to us order the lobster bisque. I thought it was an odd thing to order in the middle of the mountains on a hot day but it must have been good because he literally licked his bowl clean! Cozy and charming restaurant off the 395 in Bishop. Food was great, but it took a while to be served. Servers were very nice too. I got the Barramundi Chimichurri. It was delicious, but I think there was way too much chimichurri sauce. It took away from the flavor of the soft and juicy fish. Also, I would have preferred more couscous to make the dish heartier and overall more filling. I would come here again, but maybe I'd opt for a different dish. The salmon looked fantastic! read more

Fun restaurant with tasty food and live music. This large restaurant is located in the heart of Bishop. It was conveniently located to our hotel. It has its own parking lot and plenty of seating. They had a little gift shop area and a pool table. The vibe was fun, social and lively. We visited on a Saturday evening at about 6:30 PM. The restaurant was not crowded and we were quickly seated. We sat at a table near the bar where live music was playing. The music was loud but the musician was outstanding so we didn't mind that we couldn't hear each other. Lol. The menu had a wide variety of food including Thai food. We ordered: COKE VEGGIE PATTY BURGER With SAUTEED MUSHROOMS SUMMER ROLLS FILET MIGNON with SAUTEED MUSHROOMS Cina Monster Dessert Our food arrived quickly and was nicely plated. Portion size was decent. The steak was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The Cina Monster (cinnamon roll with ice cream on top) was amazing! Service was warm and friendly. What do you think of when you read Whiskey Creek restaurant? Certainly not Thai food. But I have to tell you they serve up some pretty mean Thai food. I had the Spicy Basil with a hotness level of four, and my wife had the Cashew Chicken. We also split a bowl of the Coconut Soup as an appetizer. As a Vegetarian, never thought to go to a steakhouse, passing by Whiskey Creek on every trip up 395. On my most recent trip I realized this was a big mistake, the friend I was travelling with communicated that they had a Thai menu which included vegetarian options. Who knew? The food was good and reasonably priced for lunch. I had the Spicy Basil with Tofu dish, medium spice...which was perfect. Friend had Cashew Chicken stir fry which was also enjoyed. Service was good, typical steakhouse ambiance with a lunch crowd focused on enjoying a meal and getting on with their day. Important to me, there were no irritating "service" charges. The price on the menu includes their cost of doing business. Definitely on the "will return" list. read more

10am Saturday morning, looking for breakfast. The place looked interesting but no menu near the door - found a seat and a waiter brought me water and a menu. Two other tables arrived a minute or so before me - the waiter brought them water and took their orders. He then took mine. I watched these other two tables (total 6 people) order / receive and eat their food/ pay their bill and leave and I'm still sitting there with just a water. After waiting 15 minutes I inquire about my food - a new waitress apologizes and says than "they've just had a party of 11". Another 10 minutes pass and I'm getting hangry by this time - I stand up and ask a random wait staff about my food - it then appears. Pancakes are ok - two pieces of very small overcooked bacon, ok eggs and what appears to be a two day old slice of orange? No coffee or toast is included. The waitress is very apologetic and even gives me a 20 discount. To the management of Whisky's - if a party of 11 overwhelms your kitchen then you don't have enough staff - sort it out - it's what you get paid for. If I want a shitty breakfast experience then I'll go to Dennys - however at this point Dennys has you beat fair and square. read more

This is a nice, clean (& big) restaurant that is now also serving breakfast! Glad we saw the new sign indicating breakfast so we stopped. They have a great offering of breakfast items and ours quickly was served at a perfect temperature. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and answered my questions about some of their items and said they added new items to their new menu. He checked back on us regularly but not to the point of hovering which is wonderful when in a conversation. We have been coming to Bishop every couple months to visit my grandma and every time we come we have to go to Whiskey Creek. The pesto chicken pasta is my go to favorite and it's always enough for leftovers the next day. Sometimes they even have live music and makes for a fun atmosphere. The only downside would be that the front staff needs to be a little bit nicer and empathetic about the wait times with their guests. read more

Ordered Baby Back Ribs expecting Bar-B-Que woodfired smoked ribs. What I received were ribs that were cooked in a oven, not woodfired and drenched in sweet Bar-B-Que sauce that had to be scraped off to find the ribs underneath. The ribs themselves were lacking flavor due to being cooked in an oven. If you are a fan of a sweet sauce to make your ribs flavorful then this might work for you. If you want true Baby Back Ribs go to a dedicated Bar-B-Que restaurant of which there are several in Bishop. read more

So I was told by a member of the mono county tourism board that the eggs Benedict were very good. Today a friend and I finally tried the breakfast. I got the eggs Benedict which was very good. We ordered a burnt end sandwich, classic cheeseburger, Asian chicken salad, and chicken pineapple curry. The portion sizes were massive, so we weren't able to finish everything - fortunately, our hotel room had a microwave and fridge, so we were able to finish the leftovers the following morning. The sandwich, cheeseburger, and salad were all very flavorful and hearty, though a bit messy to eat. The chicken pineapple curry was a bit dry and bland; even though it was on the healthy menu, I still think they could have done better with it. Note that Thai food is not available during weekday lunch, only dinner and weekends. 3.5 stars read more

It was interesting how this ace had Thai and Italian food so it had variety for sure. Ambiance is just awesome. I loved that there were different sections of the restaurant including a full bar on the other side there was pool table. Lots of goodies for purchase as well. It's been a few years since I've been here, and as it's the only "fancy" restaurant in Bishop, I thought I'd give it another try to celebrate my friend's birthday. Service by Kimberly snd all service staff was outstanding! They were the best part. And the saxophonist even played the happy birthday song for us. Amazing! Our second visit here, cocktails first, then decide. We sipped our cosmos before ordering, fortunately, because we found the Thai food menu on the back page this visit. Service was pro, and I enjoy the ambiance in their classy central bar surrounded by bar stools and comfy booths. Last time, I enjoyed their loaded baked potato, this time, I ordered their green tofu curry, which was delicious. 3 stars was perfectly flavorful. Their Moscow mule was yummy, too, and a deal at $8.
