Parmesan crusted chicken and loaded mashed potatoes

We have only driven through bishop and never stayed there. We are glad we did and found whiskey creek to eat at. The chicken and steak were yummy tasting. The loaded mashed potatoes still make my mouth water. The place is huge and has lots of space. Our server was kind yet funny. We will definitely always eat dinner here any time we stay in Bishop.

Very nice I liked as soon as they asked where we wanted to sit.. they have the bar side separate from dining side. Ribeye streak with garlic mash. Steak came out hot which was a plus for me I love my food hot.. seasoned just right not over and not under very flavorful and tender it's 12oz so we shared it. The garlic mash again was just right over the top with gravy with a dollop of carrot just the right touch. Portion size was just right. Had a side sunshine salad the dressing was sweet with the little tart not to much but they mixed my salad in it. Sad I didn't get bread you can't have steak and salad without bread.. Staff was super nice they said on Thursday nights they have sax player when we were leaving they started getting more people. Don't get dessert would like to try the crème brûlée but was to full. The doors are open even with the construction. We will for sure stop by again when we are passing thru.

How does a Texan go to a steakhouse and not get a steak? When he goes to a restaurant that has two chefs and one cooks tasty Thai food. I had the Whiskey Creek pad Thai with beef (medium heat). My pad Thai was nicely seasoned with plenty of beef and veggies. My wife was still full from lunch so she had a baked potato and side salad and said they both hit the spot. Katie was our server tonight and she did a great job. Next time I might get a steak or probably with try another tempting Thai dish. Y'all check Whiskey Creek out!

This was the only restaurant open on Thanksgiving day in Bishop. Like the entire town was here. Beautiful decor and superb service; however, the food was nasty af. Omg we were too embarrassed to ask for a refund. We paid a very very high price for a meal that tastes worse than a Big Mac burger.

This place is fantastic! Stopped here while driving to mammoth and it was worth the stop. Our waiter Saul was awesome he made sure we had all our stuff out quick and made sure to keep our glasses full and was very friendly! The food was super good and not bad prices. The inside of the restaurant was super cozy. This place is bussin! Would recommend!

This place is pretty awesome! We have been up to mammoth every year for 9 years but have never been able to come here. They finally extended their hours to be open earlier on weekend which is amazing. Honestly, the staff was sweet and attentive. The food was fresh and amazingly priced. I highly recommend stopping here for a cocktail and breakfast.

After a full day of outside work, I needed a nice place to cool down and relax. This was a good chance, as there were no crowds at 4:30 and most visitors were still driving in for the rodeo. I saw beets on the menu and immediately ordered my favorite vegetable salad. Next, fish sounded healthy, so I also filled up on this, which was done perfectly. Although not playing yet, there is a bandstand in the rear portion, so this place might rock on a weekend evening!

3 stars because the service was great. Maybe my expectations were to high .... After a long drive from Los Angeles to Bishop I was dreaming of a great cocktail and a juicy steak. Outside dining on the deck was nice. Our server was great. I wish I could say the same for the cocktails & food. We ordered different versions of a Margarita & they oddly came in different size glasses. Drinks are too sweet for my taste. I think they were probably made with a premade mix. I am a steak person & I want my ribeye thick, preferably bone in, seared medium rare and juicy. The waiter told me that it was not bone in and that was OK . I added a dinner salad with blue cheese. I ordered my steak medium rare with the loaded mashed potatoes. Salad and loaded mashed potatoes are an extra cost. Boy was I disappointed! Salad dressing lacked flavor. It was watered down. And then a thin over cooked steak arrived! Oh my gosh at this point, I'm exhausted after 6 hours of driving, willing to eat this overcooked skinny piece of meat but still looking forward to the loaded mashed potatoes. Silly me as they were dry and lacked flavor. I should've figured when I saw that they had been piped onto the plate. Yes, a pretty presentation but mashed potatoes aren't going to hold up to piping unless they're stiff & dry!!! I could have opted for a loaded baked potato at an extra charge. But that didn't come with bacon or cheese. I could've added that on top of the butter and sour cream for another additional extra charge Now mind you I am not cheap. I am willing to pay money for good food. But at some point I get irked at all the extra fees. Wine list is substandard in my point of view. It's heavy on Temecula wines which I do not like. Nuff said .... Cute town and the next time we pass through I'll find another dining option. Mammoth is another 30 minutes north and there are a couple of good steakhouses there.

This place really deserves like 4.5+ stars on yelp. The food was delicious. We got it two consecutive days in a row, and none of the people I was with had any complaints about that. The service was good, but the food was excellent. The staff were friendly, but let me repeat, everything I tried on the menu was excellent. Even the kids liked their meals. Reasonably priced as well. I am looking forward to going back one day. read more

The food was mediocre, but the service was unacceptable. The utensils we were given were dirty, and the staffs appeared more focused on chatting than paying attention to guests. Bad experience indeed. Our server, Santiago P., took our order incorrectly, entering a regular cheeseburger instead of the BBQ Bacon burger that was clearly ordered. When the mistake was brought to his attention, he became extremely defensive and initially blamed the kitchen rather than taking responsibility. He later said "maybe" he made the mistake, but never offered an apology first. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he dismissed the concern by saying it was an "easy fix" and walked away. When I later explained that an apology would have been appropriate, he responded in a rude and intimidating manner, asking, "Oh, you don't make mistakes at your job? You are perfect? Are you perfect Maam?" and insisting that him correcting the order should be enough. When he literally just grab 2 side bacons and bbq sauce for US to fix the burger given to our table. His attitude and lack of accountability completely ruined our dining experience. read more

Came to this restaurant with my wife and 3 kids and a friend of mine. Staff seated us quickly and almost immediately started getting drinks for us. Our waitress Kimberly did an amazing job of getting our orders in quickly. My wife was nursing our 5 month old and ordered all of her food and drinks right away after we sat down. The staff brought her food out first so she could eat while we waited for the rest of it. The food was great and cooked exactly to our expectations, the staff was efficient and friendly, and they sat us in a quiet corner to ourselves so we had space to be rowdy. There are only two people in my household, so when Thanksgiving came around this year, it was a no brainer. I knew that Whiskey Creek was the answer. My wife decided on the Prime Rib and I had the traditional Turkey dinner with all the fixins'. It did not dissapoint. We even had leftovers for sandwiches. I have been patronizing Whiskey Creek for years. If someone asks me "where can I go in Bishop to wind down, enjoy a cocktail, and finish the night off with an excellent dinner?" I will always recommend Whiskey Creek. I believe this is the best breakfast restaurant in Bishop too. Great food, great service, and great staff, you can't go wrong. read more

As soon as you enter the restaurant you get a warm welcoming of a beautiful lodge style place. Or waitress Michaela was excellent in explaining the menu and answering some specific ones. Superb service all around. And the food was outstanding. This is a must Everytime you are in Bishop. read more

Had a lovely dinner here visiting the eastern Sierras. We brought our dog with us and enjoyed their lovely patio. Lots of cocktails to choose from, had an old fashioned which was decent. We had the salmon carpaccio- a bit too salty for my taste. Had the 12 oz prime rib and my girlfriend had the 8 oz New York strip and both were honestly pretty great! The steaks were cooked perfectly, medium rare and medium respectively. Overall was very satisfied with my meal here- would definitely stop by next time we are in town! read more

Food was great. I don't like taking pics. But the crusted parm chicken was great. Calamari was good. Hot tea options were great w honey. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. Stayed in Bishop Sunday night due to no power in June Lake, and we are so glad we did, because we came across this gem. Everything was absolutely perfect. We had appetizers, entrees, desserts and wine. Our server, Kimberley, made our night so great. She was so personable, and even though busy, she didn't seem rushed and still took the time to get to know us. The best part is, they have a wine cellar, so our bottle of red wine was perfect temp. Thanks again Kimberley and staff for a wonderful evening, we will definitely be back. read more

I was originally headed to Jack's after a fuel stop, but they were closed -- and honestly, I'm so glad they were. That twist of fate brought me to Whiskey Creek, and from the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The vibe is a perfect blend of classic steakhouse and cozy diner, with the added surprise of delicious Thai cuisine on the menu. My server, Kim, was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. Service was lightning fast, and the hostesses went out of their way to seat me near an outlet so I could charge my phone (huge plus when you're on the road). Tons of easy parking, both on-site and on the street -- perfect if you're in an RV or driving a semi. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out! read more

Just a heads up you can only do one review, so we've always had Hector or Santiago as our waiter/bartender, and both deserve a shout out. Food is not bad, but one day we ordered caprese salad and it was good. Next day we ordered the same salad and it was at least 1/3 smaller than the previous day. Also, party of 4 was suddenly considered a large party and we were charted automatically 20% service fee. All of the tables are for four people, so I don't know why all of a sudden 4 people party is considered a large group. After we received the bill to pay with credit card, there was another line asking for additional tip. We are not coming back. read more

It was a busy Friday night and we took a chance as a family of 6, hoping we'd get a table without a reservation. They were able to sit us right away (Kylie and the other hostess were so sweet and helpful). We have four boys and our server, Kimberley, was amazing with all of us! She kept their sodas filled (much to their delight), and was patient with us in taking our order. Food was wonderful as always- can count on delicious burgers and incredible Thai, truly something for everyone. We love Whiskey Creek! read more

Great bar and restaurant service. The Whiskey Creek occupies the historic site of one of Bishop's first big hotels- the Kitie Lee, opened in 1924. The existing business offers great American, and... Thai(!) food. My wife and I had delicious curries. The full bar also appealed to us, and we weren't disappointed. Staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter went the extra mile to make sure that we had what we needed. read more

long over due for this review. We were staying in Bishop and dropped into Whiskey Creek steakhouse.. quickly seated, service was by Kim. answered all questions and recommendations were spot on. we had the ribs and steak. Amazing flavors. mashed potatoes were whipped to perfection. very accommodating for types of toppings for steak, try both! Ribs fell off the bone, flavor was on point and steak had the Char flavor (for some who like that) requested to speak to chef I believe it was Jose, he came out and answered questions along with Horacio the manager. Loved to cook and wanted to get chef secrets very nice atmosphere was not loud in dining area. very quaint. reasonable price(relative to each individual) Will visit again for sure. My friend and I both ordered summer roll (pork and lettuce wrapped in rice paper) and spring rolls (shrimp and lettuce wrapped in rice paper) at $12 for 4 rolls. The Vietnamese owner lady was very nice and let us order them as a mixture of 2 spring rolls and 2 summer rolls as one order. Freshly made to order. They look and taste very "home made", also on the smaller side compared to what I'm used to (lots of Vietnamese restaurants near where I live), and these rolls do not come with rice noodles as many others I'm used to. All that aside, we took our very first bite a few hours later and my friend immediately felt stands of hard thin strings in her mouth, and spitting out SEVERAL STRANDS of short hair, which is not the same color as her own long hair. Shocking. Very shocking. My rolls were just fine with no foreign substances, however the more we eat the more we are getting grossed out from the encounter...she didn't finish eating that roll with hair in it and continue to eat 2 out of the 3 rolls left and so did I, since we were both very hungry and it was our only food option during the long journey, but the whole time we were getting more and more grossed out and none of us ate the 4th last roll in our order. Payment: She accepts credit card or Venmo, but any other form of payment besides cash would be an extra dollar of up charge. Instead of paying $13 for a $12 item, we decided to scramble for cash to pay her. Location: One of three food trucks located in a dirt road parking lot with active large and live mosquitoes flying around attacking us while we order food and dine. A Mexican taco truck each to the left and right side of this Vietnamese food truck. Other: This lady owner says she's had her business here for 5 years now. Had wanted to try several items on the menu but already made a purchase with the taco truck to its right. Perhaps it's a good thing, because the sanitary and hygiene issue here is questionable. I hope she starts to wear a hair net when she preps food. I mean, I understand we all shred hair daily and she must of been working hard to chop the veggies and hand roll each spring roll...but we really don't need that evidence in the form of strands of hair in our food...

I have always used my husband's account to access Yelp and we often rely on the reviews when traveling to unfamiliar areas, but I thought I should start leaving my own reviews and my visit to Whiskey Creek will be a great start! Whiskey Creek in our home town of Mammoth was always a joy, but the restaurant in Bishop was our favorite and we were so happy to hear they had opened back up!! We came down on Saturday night for the Night of Lights and wanted to try our old favorite after the parade. I had the Pesto Chicken pasta and it was better than I remember! The service was prompt and polite. Our bus boy/food runner (William or Wesley maybe... I can't remember) was the most pleasant young man (not always the case with young men and women these days), which is nice to see! The visit was a pleasure. We will stop in whenever down the hill from Mammoth! Great job, glad to see you are reopen! read more

I travel quite often throughout the year. I've had the opportunity to eat just about every dish from every nation around the world. I'm not afraid to try something new or something old. I choose to eat at Whiskey Creek in Bishop California and its earned the 5 stars I've never given a restaurant. I had the New Zealand Rack of Lamb medium Cooked. I had this dish in San Francisco a couple of years ago and never had Lamb since, Rhonda the server suggested the dish and I agreed to give it a try. My goodness, it was tender and juicy with nothing but its natural flavor. When you bite into the meat it dissolves pleasantly into your palate and the aroma of the meal teases you for more. The Lamb is only the beginning because it's complemented with soup or salad and a fancy Veggie mix. I'll be back for the service and the food. Awesomenees in the making!!! read more

This place makes you feel like home. Every time I'm here which is about four times a week. The manager Jen makes it a point to say hi. Tommy and kim in the bar are more than willing to make sure my requests are taken care of. And, Rhonda who is now only in the dining room and very much missed in the bar is just my absolute favorite. She brings a different level of service to Bishop. I have visited many diifferent bar/restaurants in the area Whiskey Creek has always been a great experience. So my buddies and I used to stop at whiskey Creek all the time coming through bishop. It's been closed for a long time. But coming through town this time we seen it open so we had to stop in and check it out. We sat on the patio and got some beers. Our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. She got our drinks right away, we ordered food and it came out even better. The food was absolutely awesome. Our cups never went dry the whole entire time we were there. We love this place! It's our go-to restaurant every time we are in Bishop. They have changed up their menu and, while we were disappointed at first, what a hit it is! Good job, you guys. John was our server the first night. He is so friendly and approachable and we loved his margaritas. The best we've had. We ran into Patricia, who remember us from November! Nicole was our server the second night and she did an awesome job. We love this place. It's nice to sit out on the patio with our dogs and enjoy fantastic cuisine and super friendly people. We came in Monday night and were promptly greeted with a smile by the bartender, Miranda. We ordered drinks and were going to wait for a booth to eat. After enjoying the service at bar, we decided to stay and eat at the bar. I had the fish and chips, my coworker had the wings and a salad. What a gem located right in the heart of Bishop. Found this place while driving through town and so glad I stopped. Kimberley waited on us this past weekend and the service was phenomena, couldn't have been better. She was so attentive to all of our dietary needs. We had some special requests with our meals and she handled it like a champ. I had a ribeye and it was perfect, my dad had the filet, and it was just as good! I would not rate this restaurant at all I had to give it one start to upload the comment. the food is over price the steak has no flavor and super dry. this restaurant gets worse by the day. good luck if you eat there McDonalds would of been better. I will never eat there again its a waste of time and money. I believe they change owners because last time, I was driving towards Mammoth it was close. its not the Whiskey creek I knew. the cook or chef sucks needs new cooks or chef what ever they have. read more

Stopped in tonight to watch the game and scored on service. Rhonda our all time favorite server is finally back after being gone for awhile and just happened to be working the bar side with Tommy our all time favorite bartender. Tom has all sorts of specialty drinks and always makes us something new and fun. And, Rhonda anticipates your every need. Maya is the best waitress ever! She is the reason for the 5 stars! We had come in with a very large party (10-15 people) on multiple occasions and she rocked it both times. Not one wrong order and very attentive service. She truly made it a positive experience. The bartender also worked very hard to keep our crowd happy. Ate here years ago- glad to see this restaurant is back. Very spacious and clean- and air conditioned. Clean restrooms. We had a nice appetizer (sliced heirloom tomatoes with mozzarella cheese) and a sandwich (BLT) with sweet potato fries. Both were excellent and the portions were generous.
