Had a business associate in from out of town that loves good whiskey so this was the spot. I was happy to learn I was the first to use their Yelp 'wait list' app which worked beautifully. We had a wonderful time, steaks were good, service was excellent. They don't serve dessert but I popped in next door and grabbed a beautiful assortment of offerings and brought back for our table of 5 to enjoy (I think the two have same owners). I had the spicy burger (forgot what it was called) which had all sorts of spicy things in it. It wasn't THAT spicy. The sweet potato fries were some of the best damn fries I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, amazingly delicious. I had to give this restaurant a lower rating because the bottom side of my burger patty was burned beyond recognition. Would you like some carcinogens with a side of burger? BF had the katsu curry... I feel like it's overrated and I could probably make it myself with those curry cubes you can by at the Asian supermarket. Service was pretty decent - our waiter asked us if we were okay every time he passed by. I decided I'd let the burned patty thing go since I'd already eaten half before I noticed. I love that this place is open so late! Perfect for people that work late or don't get out to eat until late. Not to mention the fact that the food is delicious! I get the teriyaki chicken every time. It's packed with flavor and a nice, healthy choice because it comes with white rice and vegetables. One question: On a scale of 1-10, how creative do you like your bar food? WBK is a 17. This is the first time I've walked into an establishment and legit wanted to try everything on the menu in one sitting, with a shot of wild turkey, because obviously, I'm a woman of class and stature. Seriously, calling the food here "bar food" is a disservice. Their culinary creations are colossal cuisine, culled from only the Kitchen of a King. I dove into their katsu and was astounded by it's most generous of portions and the familiar yet ephemeral taste of the dish. My plate was piled high with the ugliest gravy (if you've ever played pokemon, it resembled MUK sitting on a mound of perfectly cooked rice) that was so whimsical and delicious I wanted to dance on my bar stool. I didn't, not enough room at the tall tables lining the wall. On top of that, my server was so polite and attentive (Shout out to Ms. TERA haaay girl haaay), I didn't have to wait long for refills and she was open to answering all of my questions. If you have never been here, definitely try it. They have some american.. some asian.. some southwestern themes all mixed together, and a nice whiskey selection (they had better!). This is a great place to go for food and drinks, or just to go sit at the bar with friends and watch a game. Of note, I don't think I will ever go there and not get the buffalo blue burger (without ranch of course). It's so simple, but the perfect amount of spicy buffalo sauce, melting blue cheese, and the crisp freshness of cucumbers... not to mention that by then you will probably have had a glass or two of whiskey and it will taste that much better. If i'm going there on Fri or Sat, I try to get there early and eat, then have drinks at the bar... the reason being, it is a small place that fills up fast, and if you're there after 7 or so on a Sat you will be waiting an hour. This place has kinda gone downhill in the past few months. The wait staff was less than attentive. They turned the TVs up to an obnoxious level after we arrived without asking if we were ok with it. You had to yell to be heard across the table. They had a problem with the rice cooker and had to give me vegetables instead for my Pig Plate. In addition the quality of plates like the pimp nuggs has gone downhill. The only redeeming quality of this visit is the sauce on the pig plate. I most likely will not recommend this place any longer. Update: they did take my meal off of the check since I had to wait so long on it. A great surprise since I did not ask them to and did not make a stink about it. read more

Went here on a Sunday afternoon and took a seat at the bar. Ordered the WB(k) Old Fashioned and it was one of the best ones I've had in a long time. For food, I ordered the Metro Burger with onion rings (suggested by the gentleman sitting next to me). The bartender suggested getting remoulade sauce on the side for my onion rings and he was spot on. The onion rings were amazing and the remoulade sauce was equally delicious. The burger was really good, although the patty seemed to be way overcooked and a tad bit dry. However, the mushroom topping was phenomenal. If you are craving a good burger, look no further. Their menu has 7+ burger choices, my favorite is the Breakfast Burger. Their waffle fries and sweet potato fries are the best in Augusta hands down. The service is always great, but the reason for the 4 stars is only because of the small size of restaurant. Being a very popular restaurant, there are only 3 tables that fit 6 people, about 6 booths that only fit 4, and some high top tables for 4 people. Was introduced to this place the first few days I moved to Augusta and have since visited and introduced it to a friend from out of town. Their menu is comprised of burgers and some Asian foods. I'm not big on burgers but I always order the Cali burger. Sides come with sweet potatoe fries, waffle fries, veggies and the like. Both times my burger has been cooked to medium well-ish, as I prefer it. I would suggest medium well if you like a little pink, since them seem to under cook instead of over cook here. Good food portions. I've always come during lunch time (noon-ish) and never had to wait more than 15 minutes for food to come out. Seating is available outside and plenty of seating inside. Drink menu looks diverse, but I've never ordered from it. Definitely my go-to place if I'm in the mood for a burger. read more

One of my favorite downtown spots... Delicious food & variety. The sweet potato waffle fries (with the coconut cream sauce, a MUST) are absolutely delicious. I've loved every burger I've tried. There are unique options but the novelty of flavors doesn't compromise the deliciousness. For me, it's a strictly burger & fries kind of place... The non-burger items I've tried weren't as impressive, but there are plenty available. I've been to Whiskey Bar three times now and the service was always really good. I have had the Cali, pig sandwich and Devil's peak now and they were all really good. I am looking forward to trying all the other burgers on the menu one by one. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've had so far. They come with some sprinkles of coconut flakes and a special coconut sauce (if you get the whole order). The waffle fries are also delicious and not too salty like most other places. Side salads are of really good portion and the miso ginger dressing is yummy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone. I also heard that they have a good brunch menu on Sunday. The food was really solid. I liked the indie/punk/ska retro vibe from the music. The burger was good as was the sweet potato fries. The coconut sauce was interesting but maybe not my favorite. But the service was such a big stumbling block. Both the hostess and the waiter came across as indifferent at best. It wasn't particularly busy but our waiter brought the check about halfway through the meal. Then he tried to take our plates away while we were still eating. We're not slow eaters, there wasn't anything to indicate we were done eating. Not that he asked. In a nutshell: Nice enough place. good vibe. Well....the food here is perfect greasy spoon for the afternoon after a late night. The place is quite eclectic...at least the staff and patrons are...tattoos galore and the old bars and stars on the staff shirts. The staff were great...friendly and attentive. The manager....on the other hand was immature and rude. We ordered a bloody beer but charged for a full price Bloody Mary....mind you no vodka, just beer and bloody mix. And worse, when pointed out, the manager proceeded to argue with us that we should appreciate the effort the bartender went through to make the bloody beer. Instead of acting like a manager...she continued to be rude, argue, and yell at us. Would have expected a comp on the bloody beers and all would have been great. Now, she created a negative customer experience and won't be back. Mind you, our tab was over $50 and we tipped waiter as normal. In the end, she yelled back that no one has ever ordered a bloody beer before...evidently a negative customer experience because POS couldn't handle the bloody beer...just charge for a beer and be done with it. Lied to us that her boss made the call, but she was only manager there (or wouldn't let us talk to her superior). Also made a nonsensical argument that we were overcharged because of COVID? Food isn't good enough to justify returning here....good luck! read more
