We, a party of four, recently visited Whiskey Bar for dinner. We wanted an out of town guest to experience your bar and restaurant, as it is one of our favorites in Augusta. We were aware of the 90 plus minutes wait for a table but opted to wait anyway. After being seated, we ordered appetizers, which were excellent as usual, and arrived promptly. Our entrees presented a somewhat different experience. Three of the four in our party ordered various burgers -- two medium and one medium rare. On three different occasions, within a few minutes, a variety of entrees was brought to our table. Some were ours; some were not. All items were returned to the kitchen to await all four correct entrees. Finally the two medium burgers and the other entree were served. The server stated the medium rare burger was overcooked and a new burger was being prepared. We were presented with an awkward dilemma -- should we eat while our guest waited on her food or allow our food to become cold while waiting. No sincere apology was offered or options provided. We have had great experiences at your establishment until that evening. We were exhausted after a 90 minutes table wait plus an additional 75 minutes wait for the correct food. This was not a pleasant experience as we and our guest were very disappointed. We had bragged on your restaurant so much and our hyped-up expectations were certainly not met. read more

We were only in town for one day. I followed my rule to check out the local places, and rely on my Yelp family for the best ones around. I have never been disappointed.....this place was cool! Nice vibe/atmosphere. All of the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable about the beers and whiskey they carried. There were 4 of us, and we all had burgers. I seem to forget to yelp about the places we frequent often. We have been here on numerous occasions... I took the children a few days ago and it was absolutely delicious. I don't do blue cheese but I highly recommend the blue cheeseburger, my son said the Metro burger was fantastic, he ate every bit of it along with his sweet potato fries. Our server, Adrienne, was top notch and made us feel very welcome, even at the bar! Superb service!!! Thank you ma'am!! They also have a great beer selection, overall they are a little pricey but the food is always fresh. One downfall, it is extremely loud so don't take a lunch date there if you want to talk and hear each other. The owners definitely need to put some kind of sound buffers in. That is every time we have been in there... Only reason why they do not get five stars. read more

Whiskey Bar is one of many venues on Broad St in Augusta. I've been going here over several years, and decided to visit last month while in Augusta. My buddy and I need a late-night bite and we hustled over around 11pm on a Saturday night. We were lucky to find 2 spots at the bar as the restaurant was lively and just about full. Our bartender, Brian, was on point. He was friendly and knowledgeable about the many drink options. As the restaurant name implies, they feature an impressive number of whiskies. I'm used to paying ATL prices, so these prices are relatively cheaper. If you dig whisky, you should be able to find something for your palate. As it was late, I chose a salad w/ grilled chicken. Not the best ever, but it was good, fresh, and the portion size was fair. Give it a shot when visiting Augusta. read more

Visited this location last minute on Valentine's Day. They had a wait list that you could sign up for on Yelp and it was very accurate. My table was ready before I even arrived. We went here tonight with a couple of friends. First thought: they actually know how to pour a Guinness. This is a huge plus. I had a Guinness to drink, he had Jameson, and we munched on some shared sweet potato fries and edamame. These were delicious! But I have to admit I don't like the coconut cream sauce with the sweet potato fries--that's just my personal taste, as I never really like them sweet. The edamame is incredible--really good use of whiskey and butter in that. I had the house salad for dinner, with the miso ginger dressing, and just kept nomming on fries. They give you a crazy amount of those! Husband's take: "The burger was delicious... the patty was perfect. Overall maybe a 4 because it wasn't mind blowing. Nice booths, good whiskey.... Oh! The edamame: delicious, buttery, garlic." Overall I agree, four stars because it isn't out of this world and not a ton of vegetarian options. I recently got recommended to this place after talking to a co worker about burger places to take my wife. It was a 45 minute wait for a table which was fine because it was first Friday and Cinco de Mayo. We stopped at another restaurant to get a quick bite to hold us over while we waited to be seated. The atmosphere was pretty cool. I liked the set up of the bar and drinks weren't overly priced. I ordered "The Sink" burger, which has plenty of good ingredients on it. I also had a side order of onion rings and a Long Island Iced Tea. For me, the burger was nothing special. Not as good as advertised by my co worker who told me that it was a better burger place than Farmhaus. However, the onion rings were by far the star of the show. Fried so perfectly, crispy, golden brown and they had a buttery taste. I'll try this place again and maybe order something other than a burger, but im definitely drinking and getting more of those onion rings. Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is that they only have high tops or booths that are a large step up. So be prepared. But I love this place it's my go to for anything. I came to your restaurant for dinner Friday . I was told that my wait was 1 hour and 30 minutes. When I came back and asked about my wait the guy at the door said, "I didn't call you." To this I replied, "You said an hour and a half." He then looked down( presumably at a clock) and said, " It's only been 83 minutes." I've been coming to Whiskey Bar for years. I always get their Remedy burger and love it! I highly recommend their sweet potato fries and their waffle fries! All my friends and family who have gotten other burgers or dishes from their menu love their food! There are only a few downsides I can find. First, they are a little bit skimpy on their sides for the burgers. Also, I have never come to Whiskey Bar and there hasn't been a wait (which shows how popular it is), even if I have joined the waitlist online and arrive at the time it tells me too.
