I rolled into the Whataburger drive-thru on Thanksgiving Day--because nothing says "holiday feast" like eating a burger in your car--and immediately sensed I had entered a dimension where time no longer behaved normally. There were, by my highly scientific estimate, at least one hundred employees inside. I could see them through the windows, all moving with the majestic slowness of a herd of sleepy turtles migrating uphill. One was stirring a drink so slowly I thought the spoon was stuck in molasses. Another blinked once, possibly twice, during my entire stay. Truly inspiring. Despite this overwhelming staff presence, it somehow took one full hour to get through the drive-thru. Sixty minutes. Long enough for me to finish an audiobook, reflect on my life choices, and watch three cars in front of me give up and flee the line like survivors of a fast-food apocalypse. When I finally reached the window, my burger looked like it had been assembled during a mild earthquake. The bun was sliding off like it was trying to escape the situation. The patty tasted like someone had described "beef" to a committee, and the committee decided to wing it. The lettuce drooped like it needed a nap. This review is for the Peoria St, Tulsa location. Today, I had the best single cheeseburger and fries I've had at a Whataburger in 6 years. I've moved around to different places and the only other good one I found was in Phoenix. I lived in Houston and Amarillo and those were very average or not good at all. Getting a hot burger and hot fries is really difficult at Whataburger - but not today! The Peoria St location gave me a hot burger and very hot fries and there wasn't too much or too little mustard. Last weekend we decided to take a different route back to Tulsa from Grand Lake. About the time we reached Pryor we were hungry & after driving that strip of fast food joints we decided a burger would suffice. So knowledgeable he said, "Then I'd order a burger". We took our number and the hot sandwiches arrived about 2 minutes later. But sitting there gave us ample time to see that *every* other table had not been cleaned. I assume Daniel is the manager and his position should seriously be reconsidered. I'd never heard of this place until I touched it in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have burgers, chicken strip sandwiches, Pepsi products, and Sweet Tea! Plenty of parking and fast friendly service. They take your order and your name, then bring it to the table. The avocado bacon burger on Texas toast is what I had. Would I eat here again? Yes! Came in for a burger after the flea market....first impression, multiple tables dirty, men's restroom a sty with neither the toilet nor the urinal flushed and pee all over the toilet seat and the floor....after an employee came out. Manager VERY loud but not negative...encouraging her workers...nice to see. Manager went to the back, employees loud, but this time we had some profanity, a couple of "s$&*ts" one "b*^%ch" and one f-bomb...not very family friendly. On a cross country family road trip from Louisville. We were leaving the gathering place in Tulsa when we noticed they had a whataburger location very close. The wife and kids had never had it before as it not available where we are from. I ironically tried one for the first time exactly one week earlier when visiting a buddy in Texas. Anyways the food is very good. Very tasty burgers. The service much like the other one I went to was horrendous. The inside was close due to covid (understandable) so we went to the drive thru. We know the drive they lady got our order correctly because she repeated it to us 3-4 times and it was correct when she did. We got our food and the orders were all messed up. I ordered a plain bacon burger and it was fully dressed. Ironically a week earlier I ordered a plain whataburger and it came fully dressed. Is refusing to remove sides of a burger a whataburger thing? They are 0 for 2 on service for me. 2 for 2 on taste. So I'm not sure what to think. One one hand it be cool to get one back home. I asked them to substitute the square cheese for shredded cheese and was charged $.70 why would I be charged extra money for changing a cheese when it already comes with cheese I asked the manager and she said that's just the way it is.... Not to mention typically the taquitos come with two hashbrowns inside today It comes with four.... The hashbrowns are extremely salty. Saturated in oil and soggy. Cannot even eat this today. My teenage daughter and her two teenage girl friends went through the drive through. The guys working started flirting with them telling them they could come back after hours. They asked them to roll down the back window so she could see the girl in the back seat. They felt in danger so they left without their food even though they had paid. I called the manager Kevin who was apologetic but told me he couldn't refund the money they had spent without the receipt. I told him I had all of the info on her debit card receipt and maybe he could just send me a gift card. He said he couldn't do that and I could post whatever I wanted but he was through talking. Whataburger is pretty darn cool place for being open late nights. In comparison to In and Out here in California, they are pretty similar, except In and Out is less greasy though I think!! The Tulsa Whataburger on E. 21st is a joke. I ordered a chocolate shake, got a white vanilla and went to the counter to say I got the wrong flavor. The lady said it was chocolate, just light. I went back to the table, tasted it, and it was vanilla. I returned to the counter and politely repeated it was vanilla, and the manager? said it was chocolate just white. I replied as several people watched, that I know chocolate and something was wrong with their machine--there was not a speck of chocolate in it. She said it was and I asked for my money back. She threw it in the trash and got a pack of nickels out and smashed it to show her displeasure. I will never return to that store. This is the second time that I have received cold nasty food. I called and asked if the person who answered the phone was the manager. Her name is Brittany. I explained to Brittany that I have just left the location and when I got home, the bag felt warm but the when I ate the fries they were all cold and when I bit into my burger, the meat was also cold. My entire meal was cold! The only thing that should've been cold was my soft drink. The drive-through is supposed to be a convenience when you don't have a whole lot of time but for whatever reason no matter what time it is that you go to this location you're going to wait 10 to 20 minutes just to get your food, and when you do get your food, it is going to be cold. Took quite a while at the window -- there was a wait to read my phone code, another wait to take my money, a third wait to get my drink, more waiting for my change (guy at window seemed confused by making change but got it right) and more waiting for my food. I was behind two other people, so all the waiting was a bit of a mystery, but I had ordered a chicken sandwich. Maybe it had to be cooked fresh. First time I had Whataburger was in 1994 when I visited my cousins in their then new home of the state of Texas. I was but a small child seemingly there to only celebrate Christmas with my family on my school break. I was unprepared for what would happen next. We'd go to a burger spot called Whataburger and right then and there my new obsession was born. Unfortunately, since then I've only had WB a only a handful of times with a majority of it being just in the last 5 years. And man oh man, if this ain't my favorite burger chain then please remind me of what is. I f*cking love this place. It's the best. Don't @ me. There are a lot more items I need to try on their menu since I seem to keep circling back to the same items again and again. But I've included pics of their epic Triple Meat Whataburger, Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger, delicious fries and their LTO Hatch Chile Bacon Burger (which has a great kick to it and just needs to be on the menu already) along with this review. If I could seriously give this whole chain 10 stars I would. And I love that they bring your food to your table and I love that spicy ketchup exists. Okay, I realize I just gave a Whataburger five stars but hear me out... they deserve every one of them! Our burgers were ready in a timely manner, really good and reasonably priced. That part of the meal was a decent 4 stars alone, but it was the customer service that really stood out! We were served at our table and asked what condiments we would like. What really surprised me was the delivery. I opened the bag and pulled out the burger. It was wrapped like it was done by a Christmas present pro. Then when I saw the burger inside, it looked like a picture. That is why I am writing this review. It literally was the most perfect burger ever!
