We're heading back to OKC but the roads are so icy, we're getting a hotel in Gainesville for the night. All I need is a decent meal to feed my family before we crash at the comfort inn. Fortunately, there are three fast food restaurants across the road. Surely, one of these fine dining establishments will be able to serve us. Chick-fil-A? Nope, they've turned tail and run home early. Closed at 7 pm. Panda Express? The lights are on but no one is home. Who can save us from our misery and hunger? Whataburger! Bless you, you beautiful orange W, like the wings of an angel. We run through the drive through twice and on the second pass the cashier recognizes us and asks about our plight. Two free cookies later, she's made a new whataburger fan, and we're heading to the hotel with burgers, fries and big smiles. Thanks whataburger! read more

Whataburger - Burgers Near Me - Gainesville, Texas

After losing every last dollar I had at WinStar World Casino -- and I mean every. single. dollar -- all I wanted, all I needed, was the warm embrace of a good ole Whataburger. No fancy meal, no five-star consolation prize. Just a thick, juicy burger and some crispy fries to remind me that life still has something to offer. Something to hold onto. A reason to keep going. I drove through the night, broken but hopeful, clinging to that orange-and-white beacon of salvation like a man lost at sea clinging to a life raft. The golden arches couldn't save me. Sonic wasn't going to cut it. Dairy Queen? Don't insult me. Only Whataburger -- open 24 hours, 7 days a week, a promise carved in stone and written in the hearts of Texans everywhere -- could fill the void that the Evil Black Jack Dealer left behind. That man looked me dead in the eyes and busted me on a 19. A 19! And he didn't even flinch. But I forgave him. Because I had Whataburger to look forward to. I could already taste it. The perfectly toasted five-inch bun. The mustard. The big, bold beef patty that slaps you back to life and says "hey, it's going to be okay, buddy." I had already mentally ordered the Whataburger #1 with cheese, large fries, and a sweet tea so sweet it could heal emotional wounds. This was my plan. This was my salvation. And what do I find when I walk up to that counter? A shift lead -- cool as a cucumber, completely unbothered by my suffering, not a care in the world -- telling me that THIS Whataburger, THIS supposed 24/7 establishment, is closing for the night. I'm sorry... CLOSING? For the NIGHT? At a 24/7 Whataburger?? I stood there in the parking lot for a moment, just a man alone under the vast Texas sky, the neon sign flickering above me like even it was ashamed of what just happened. I had driven past perfectly good gas station food for THIS. I lost my money at the casino. I kept my faith in Whataburger and God. And somehow, someway, I still ended up with nothing -- except for God, who at this point is doing a lot of heavy lifting. This is not the Texas I was raised to believe in. And let me say this for the record: I believe this Whataburger is a FRAUD. A phony. A wolf in orange-and-white clothing. Because every tried, tested, and true Whataburger -- every REAL Whataburger, built on tradition and the tears of winners and losers alike -- is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, specifically for people like me. The losers. The broken. The ones who just need a burger at 2am and ask no further questions. We deserve better. I deserve better. And frankly, so does Texas. read more

I used to come here all the time for the chicken Fajita taco. It was my favorite fast food item on the planet. They were so yummy. OMG! Moi LOVED them!! Gobbled them up constantly!!! But you don't serve them anymore so I don't come anymore. See how that works? Will never return. read more

Sooo I really wanted to like Whataburger since I heard so much about them. I'm from Maryland and we don't have one of those here. I played it safe by ordering a bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and Mayo. My burger had tomato and mustard on it and no bacon and my cheese wasn't melted. I already left the restaurant so it was too late to take my burger back. Unfortunately the taste of the burger itself just wasn't good. On a positive note, the sugar cane tea was delicious! read more

Whataburger - Burgers Near Me - Gainesville, Texas

#05/2023 Located in Gainesville Texas at the very busy junction of interstate 35 and US 82 sits and splits the parking lot with Chick-fil-A. This is a very clean Whataburger I was very impressed by how clean it was the employees were very cordial when I walked in. I ordered myself a because they were out of tomatoes until the truck came in I went with a double meat Whataburger and I added bacon cheese light mustard and the honey barbecue sauce. I should have got a single because boy that damn thing was huge. I got the fries with no salt and had a Coke Zero. Quality of food was fantastic at this location I've been to a few whataburgers in the past and kind of MEH. This one is 24 hours fully staffed dining room open 24/7 also 365. Like most of the other whataburgers they do have breakfast available from till 11:00 pm to 11am All in all a very clean very delicious one and I will definitely come back to this one if I'm near Gainesville by the QuikTrip and want some Whataburger. Four stars to start definitely above average. Contrary some of the reviews sometimes staffing does cause for slower service I didn't observe that but reading some of these reviews some of these older ones I didn't have any trouble at all so my reviews that reflect my experience not the General public. read more

Horrible horrible service. Waited 20 minutes on 2 shakes & they kept giving everyone behind me their food & they never gave me my change & there was ice cream all over one of the shakes. The boy that gave me the food in b lane was super super rude. Never coming back to this one. read more

1st time at this location. Last time. Really simple. 1 DMWB w/cheese all the way, large OR, large Diet DP. How much easier can it be? The burger had 2 pcs of meat and 2 pcs of cheese. That's it. They completely screwed up my order. That's on them. If they do it again it's on me. There are too many other choices in the area. Bye bye Whataburger. read more

If you got the time head to In n Out burger in Denton. Way better tasting burger with better quality!

Place my order on the app a hour before getting there and still had to wait 30 minutes before I got anything

Order was all wrong, I ask for hot fries and they were ice cold. The girl at the window repeated our order back to us when she handed us the food it would have been nice if she would have put our gravy in the bag. So no gravy, cold fries , burger was wrong. So as bad as I do not like McDonald's at least they do give you hot fries when you ask. What's burger didn't even try to make some hot fries. Worst whataburger ever. Need all new workers on the night shift they know how to take orders and actually put it in the bag. read more

3 strikes on this location. First 2 were for not having anyone working curbside. So I had to go in to get the orders on 2 separate occasions. 3rd strike was yesterday for screwing up the drinks and shorting us an order of fries. I'll probably return but you bet I'm checking my order - you should too. read more

I ate here from my way back to Dallas from Winstar. After I finished my meal I went back to refill my tea I was able to see through a small opening into the kitchen. They guy who preps the burger and places them into the bag had several burgers in on the counter with no wrapping or anything under them. I asked for the manager who now I know is named Heather, and I heard her say what do they need and proceeded to do whatever she was doing. Another manager who is an older man tended to me , I told him that it was very unappetizing to see the burgers on the counter and it was more than likely a health violation. All he said was "OK". This is NOT ok. read more

Slowest "fast food" in town. I don't eat there often because I just get an hour for lunch and it's not uncommon to spend 30 minutes in line. If you have a lot of time to kill and don't mind workers with bad attitudes-this is the place to eat read more

I ordered breakfast for the entire crew. The online order process is easy and convenient. I specified a pickup time and the order was ready when arrived. The crew member even cheerfully walked it out to my car. I didn't get inside the building on this trip but the ambiance is always a notch above similar establishments. You can tell the staff takes pride in the way their restaurant looks inside and out. Oh! And the Honey-Butter Chicken Biscuits? Total breakfast satisfaction. read more

Headed out of Texas, we knew that this would be our last visit to Whataburger for a long time. I ordered my favorite: #5 Combo - Whataburger with Bacon and Cheese. Well, there is such a thing as too much mustard on a burger, and mine was WAY over the limit. I scraped quite a bit off and had a pretty decent burger after that. read more

As an avid Whataburger fan, this is not a very great location due to its randomness in quality. One day it's perfect, but the next it's lacking. One thing I have started to notice is that the food is *usually* not very hot here. It's not cold or undercooked, but it's not warm to the touch like it should be. Still, I think the food is good. It just could be better. When it is correct, it's usually pretty good, and tastes the same as any other Whataburger due to being a chain location (this is a pro). Whataburger burgers are usually flat but very wide, almost like Burger King. The fries are like no other, very thin and floppy but great tasting. They've also got their signature "Spicy Ketchup" you should try. Speaking of Burger King, there's one across the highway from here if you prefer that. Chic-Fil-A and Panda Express are also in the same lot as this Whataburger. Anyways, this location has really clean bathrooms and overall helpful service (most of the time at least). It also supports online orders and has great deals on the app. read more

Let's be real, it's no secret that Whataburger as a franchise is the slowest fast food chain in the world. They're painfully slow. I start to believe they pride themselves on being slow and I honestly don't eat at Whataburger for that reason. And they usually get my order wrong. But, my mom wanted to stop here so at 1:00am on 11/20/2020 we went through the drive thru. The guy who took my order (Andrew C on the receipt) was so incredibly nice, the guy who took my payment was nice, the 2 guys who brought my food were so nice. They were respectful, FAST and nice. We had 3 orders and all 3 orders had some sort of change to it. Everyone's order was right, the food was hot, the service was good. If ALL Whataburgers were like this one I'd eat Whataburger more often. Good all around. read more

Worst customer service ever, food took more than 30 minutes to get to us (dine in). Our food was basically slammed at us and didn't even hear an "enjoy" as our food was brought to us. Giving this location a one star only because I enjoyed seeing a family bond and have dinner together. This location gives whataburger a bad reputation. Pleas hire motivated people that can at least show off a "fake" smile. read more

The overnight staff is very rude. We've been traveling for 8 hrs after packing our truck and trailer this afternoon. We wanted our favorite Whataburger. What we got was sub-par food and bad attitudes. The woman who took our order was rude and didn't pay attention to our order. When we got to the window, the young man was equally rude, gave us our drinks with sticky soda dripping down the sides. We asked for spicy ketchup, he gave us regular, we asked for double cheese and didn't get it and the fries had WAY too much salt, making them inedible. Never again read more

5 stars for customer service! Food was warm, though our burger didn't have all the correct toppings requested. But the team inside was focused on serving the guests -- especially Mike! Thank you for having us. read more

All employees with AirPods and they were all confused with all orders, they should have more customer service since the girl at the front has "0" customer service with us, Restaurant was dirty and dirty tables as well, We got wrong orders, and even wait 40 minutes to get our food, take your money to other place!! 20 minutes and waiting for takeout. Standing next to closed (during covid)handicap table and we were asked to move because they have a policy customers are not allowed to look int the kitchen. It was clearly visible if anyone was sitting at the table. They prioritized the drive they and dine in over take out. Manager was yelling at the employees. An employee yelled back they hated customer service. Clearly evident. Worse experience ever at a Whataburger read more

If I ever try this place again I wish someone would punch me right in the face!!!! I deserve to pay for a hamburger that I won't eat after giving this place 4 times and NEVER finishing a meal. I waited in line 30 min. Paid almost $7 and once again I am not eating this cold ICE COLD hamburger. This was at least the 1st time the order was correct, unfortunately again it was not edible!!!!! They never mess up the orders, which is great because after waiting for your fresh to order meal you want it right. I give their burgers a 10 but there fries always seem undercooked. Wish they wouldn't be stingy with their ketchup; it helps the taste of undercooked fries. read more

Waited in in the drive thru for 43 minutes for a whata junior burger. Worst service ever, but they hit all the lines in the script. No respect on people's food. Wish I got my money back. Whataburgers in Dallas will serve me some old hashbowns, cold sausage, and dry ass eggs faster with a full line vs this place that had no cars :/ fries definitely past that 10mins.hold time. They forgot my friend's jalapeños in her burger. She went back for some and they gave her two...trying to make up???? Or give her a the ****s. Both of us have worked at WB for years. It's prettty simple. Love your job or get out. Overall had to make this review Bc the an employee had the audacity to talk trash loud enough by the window. This is normally a very clean and efficient running business. The food is normally good and properly made. My main issue is the counter personnel. My last visit we stood at the cash registers for over 5 minutes without anyone taking our order. Customers behind me walked out and left. By a wide margin this is the worst restaurant in Gainesville. I hoped that the new store would improve the quality of the food but that's not the case. The staff at this particular store seem to be "out to lunch" (puns intended) more than they care to help the customers. Every time I've ordered it's taken forever. My food is wrong. Oh and it's usually not cooked correctly either. A truly miserable experience. read more

Everything was crispy and delicious. Staff was also very nice unlike the one in Ardmore I ate at yesterday.
