Taco was tasty today! It had some seasoning and just the right amount. The street taco with steak, onions and salsa verde hit the spot. Salsa was good and I enjoyed it on this visit. Chips were crisp and fresh. The water tasted good no well taste today. It's the casino loud and fun. I always like the energy. The ambiance is cool and noisy in a good way. Service was decent. We sat at the bar and it was busy, half off margaritas specials. The bartender was great and made great margaritas. The food was not the best tbh. We order the green cheese enchiladas and they were just okay. I ordered the chile relleno with red sauce and I did not like it one bit. Inside was not fresh cheese and the shredded chicken was salty. Food was good! I wasn't impressed by the flautas, but I did enjoy the shrimp fajitas!! The portions were large and we were able to bring home leftovers, which still tasted great after a day in the fridge! The jalapeño margarita was really good but the second one I had wasn't as flavorful, like it was missing some of the key components that the first one had. And when I visited this location again for a drink the following night at the bar, the jalapeño margarita was again, disappointing. I guess in chasing the first one I had. Located in Winstar Casino. Concert night so we decided to grab a bite to eat in a very crowded casino. Walked to hostess station and they said it's first come, first seated but then said there were no seats but we could sit at the bar. Found two seats at the bar with four sides of seats, about half full. One bartender handling all these plus making drinks for the restaurant dining area, she tried hard but the service was slow, disorganized and below par. After 20 minutes, I ordered the Chili Relleno plate and my wife ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp. Everything looked and smelled good and for the most part tasted good too. I ordered my relleno with beef inside but the one I received was filled with cheese. It took me 10 minutes before the bartender showed on our side of the bar and I explained the issue. She said she wondered when the lady on the other side of the bar returned hers because it had beef instead of cheese in it. She offered to replace it but I declined, we couldn't wait another hour for the food. The shrimp was good, especially the two sauces they served with it. Good sized shrimp, crispy bacon wrapped and well cooked shrimp. Chips and salsa were very good and the queso's was outstanding. Received an BOGO offer in the mail for fajitas so we decided to give them a visit while at the Casino. Well that was a mistake. I got beef and my wife got chicken. both were overcooked and dry, and the veggies were almost completley comprised of limp onions. Refried beans seems to be from a can and the rice was undercooked to the point of being crunchy. Chips were stale and blah. My wife had a soda, and I had water, the bill came to $52 yet we couldn't eat much of it. On the plus side, the server was very nice and attentive. we felt bad for her, but we won't be back. Too bad as we had high hopes that a Mexican place would finally be successful there, I'm not optimistic that will be the case. read more

I need to borrow another star for this place. It was excellent and that is coming from a guy that does not normally choose Mexican restaurants. The servers at the bar were Pride and Isa and they were always checking on and taking care of us. The chips and salsa were off the charts. Could have made a meal just alone. My bottle beer was great and my wife's frozen mug of draft was just what she wanted. I ordered the beef fajitas and they were the best I have ever eaten and I mean ever. I wanted to love our first visit on 12/26 around 6pm , but the bar service fell short. The bartender with the long, brownish-blonde hair lacked any sense of hospitality and never checked on us, forcing us to catch her as she passed by just to get a drink. I was so pleased with this restaurant! It's located in Winstar casino and like other people said it replaced El Fenix. I love that they renovated it- the new decor is so nice and transports you to a place like Tulum! What really won me over were there steak fajitas. The smell alone makes you feel good inside but the taste- it's so juicy and well seasoned! And just a couple of pieces will fill you up! I wasn't the biggest fan of their salsa for chips because it's very cumin heavy but I still ate a bunch. Grabbed two seats at the bar after a short wait and so glad we did! Beer was cold, swirl was great! Hubs had the Birria tacos, I chose the enchilada soup, both were great! Salsa was a little Smokey and fresh! Will definitely make this a regular spot on concert nights at WinStar! read more

Chris and I were excited to try this place so we had to stop by on our way home from our cruise. I love Birria Tacos so I ordered that while Chris had the Pork Carnitas. We sat at the bar for quick seating and faster ordering. The bartender was quick and very efficient. My tacos were meaty, the tortillas were crunchy and the consommé was tasty! Chris carnitas was equally delicious. It was a lot so 2 can actually share one order. Both orders came with Spanish rice and refried beans. The place is huge, very inviting and looks elegant! On our way to Dallas so stopped here for dinner. Finally got a server to wait on us. I ordered beef and a chicken enchilada and wife ordered tacos. Several big issues. First, server didn't check on us. Second, I clamped down on a bone in my chicken (see picture). I quit eating then. Only ate about 10% of the plate. Another server (a guy) dropped our $40.66 check off and started to walk off. I pointed out the bone on the table and he just kind of shrugged and blew it off. He should have cared enough to see I didn't eat my plate and deleted it from the bill. Nope - he couldn't care less. Brought back our card with the full 40.66 charge. The food was mediocre at best. The service sucked and the fact I found a bone in my food was the icing on the cake. We will never go back. Advice - if you eat here, check your chicken dishes for bones. read more

Or maybe a drink, they all just looked at me like I wasn't there for food and drinks. Won't ever step foot back in there. For president's weekend, I got a 50 dollar food voucher, plus $300 dollars worth of free play for that day. I decided to go to Winstar since I really did bad at Choctaw. I saw that the line at Kirby's was pretty long and at that time I really wanted to head home as Union Mesa did not have a wait. I decided to try the new Tex-Mex restaurant. Outside and inside they did a great job as it looks really fancy and nice. I got seated right away and I got the menu. Expect high prices than normal as dishes range from $15 to $25. I ended up ordering Guacamole ($12), birra tacos ($20) and street steak tacos ($18). Service was great as I got my food fast and friendly. I got my chips and salsa. Chips were meh as it tasted old and the salsa was just okay. I did not finish the basket. The guacamole was great, but the portion was too big, I ended up taking it home. The birra tacos was great as the meat was moist. The rice was dry did not finish it and the refried beans were good. The street tacos I took to go and I had it for lunch. The server gave me chips and salsa to go which was great. Overall service was great, the food was pretty good. Hostess was a little week with their greeting but we were sat quickly. Our server Kimberly H ( I only know her name from the receipt) was surly and abrupt. On the rare occasion she checked on us it was in passing. She dropped our check on the edge of the table as she walked by from another table. Amazing flavors and great ambiance, the service was fast and the drinks were good. I had the steak fajitas and guacamole and a margarita. I was surprised the fajitas also came with guacamole, and sour cream but I asked them to hold that. The tortillas were fresh, the chips and salsa were good. Great little escape inside of the casino but the entrance to the restaurant is next to the ramp parking so you don't even have to go into the casino. The bar seating is excellent but the actual table seating is very chic. Love everything about this place. They have a happy hour for drinks, guacamole, and cheese. The margarita flight is the way to go. Not just a swallow per drink, but enough to really get a good sense if it is for you. Four different drinks. Totally worth it. The big burrito is massive (couldn't eat it all). Atmosphere is okay. What made the meal was our server, Kasie. She was all smiles the moment she greeted us. We all had different questions about the extensive menu items, and she helped us navigate the menu to find the right dish. We passed on dessert, just no room for it. We just love the food and experience at Union Mesa. This was our 3rd visit and we love the staff and the food is amazing. We started off with their yummy salsa, queso and guacamole. You must try it...so delicious! For our entree we had fajitas. My hubby had Beef and Chicken and I had Shrimp and Chicken. They were all just out of this world delicious and seasoned perfectly! Our waitress Sophie was excellent and checked on us quite frequently even though she was busy serving others too. The G Mgr- Kayla stopped by to ask us how we enjoyed our dinner and she was a delight to chat with. We will be back on our next visit to WinStar for sure. Located inside of Winstar you'll find what looks to be an upscale Mexican restaurant, but the food is below average and not worth the price: Chips and salsa lacked flavor. The guacamole was the highlight of meal as it was fresh and a good portion size. The enchiladas were considerably gross. We all regretted ordering them and choosing to eat here. Portion sizes on $17-$18 meals were small and the presentation/flavor of the food does not make up for it. The service was good despite the disappointing food. read more

Absolutely disgusting. When they first opened they were premium. Partnered with Kirby's steakhouse to offer amazing steak fajitas. I ate there tonight and requested medium rare fajitas. I was told by two servers they can only offer medium to medium well done. I asked why. They now pre cook the meat and reheat it. When it first opened it was amazing. It's now embarrassing. After many trips to winstar, we decided to eat here since the Italian restaurant next door was short staffed and not open. Pretty good Tex Mex for being an Oklahoma restaurant. Shrimp and the fajitas were grilled perfectly and came with ample sides of rice and beans and all the toppings for the fajita taco. My husband and I shared the fajita plate meant for one, but it was the perfect amount for both of us. The sauce at complimentary sauce it was actually very good, along with some light tortilla chips. I received a meal voucher so I decided to try this new restaurant. The queso was average, the chicken enchilada was very good, but I can't say the same for the cheese and beef enchilada. I took one bite off each. They had no flavor. The chili was horrible. The rice was good but the beans could have used more flavor. They have a menu item where you can order any three enchiladas. There so much to say about this restaurant and SERVER, Sierra M. OMG the service was terrible. Our server apparently had it out for us cause she was all smiles with other guests. One in our party asked if he could have onions in his enchiladas and she simply said 'No cause they are premade' she was extremely sarcastic. Next person in our party said to her 'I am afraid to ask' cause it was so uncomfortable the way she was talking to all. We ordered the trio of queso (not that she even asked if we wanted an app) and when it was brought out to us, 2 of the 3 quesos had spoons and I asked for another... she said 'you are going to have to use one of the others you have cause we only have 20 spoons in the entire restaurant ‍. Really??? What kind of restaurant only has 20 Spoons. Food was overall OK but how do you tell your customers food is premade? I ordered taco salad, figured they couldn't mess that up, but beware of the menu descriptions. No where did it say jalapeños were on it. I got a whole sliced jalapeño, no sour cream and the beef was warm at best. I was surprised by this place. They replaced El Fenix with this, and it's evidently part of the Mickey Mantle's portfolio (a negative in my book). But the bartender was super nice and I got to try Barilla tacos (which by the way...yum). Also recommend the queso with Taco meat and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Decent Tequila choices and a nicer, more modern feel than the previous restaurant. If I didn't know the Mickey Mantle's connection would have given it a 5 star.
