The pizza itself was just standard casino fare -- not great, but not terrible either. I also tried the house salad, which was yellowed, wilted, and looked like it may have been frozen at some point. Unfortunately, for a world class casino, this restaurant's dining room is way too small to serve the large amount of guests trying to eat here on a busy weekend. And, there clearly isn't any staff to keep the area clean and stocked. The food however is actually excellent - hot and flavorful. Only one register in operation also slows things down significantly and it is pretty evident that staff are frustrated. Doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. read more

As I was strolling through the casino, I stumbled across this Pizzeria restaurant. I can't believe that I'd never noticed it before. Especially after traveling to WinStar Casino a number of times. When I got closer, and saw the line wrapped around the outside of the restaurant. I knew it wasn't just the robust aroma that was causing the crowds. I ended up conversing with a guy that was also waiting behind me. We chatted about the restaurant, the food, and had he dined here before? That's just How long it took for us to make it to the front of the ordering process. The service was decent enough even though the one guy behind the counter kept complimenting me on my teeth. He ended up getting my pizza order wrong sheesh lol. All I could do was Shake my head. So I paid for my slice, and had to go find a table to sit at while I waited on the correct slice of pizza. There were a few tables that weren't quite clean but I always come with my Clorox wipes, travel size Lysol, and some sanitizer. You never know if you'll need to use them. So my table was definitely clean for the person that chose to come behind me after I left. The guy that I'd befriended waved at me with his wife smiling also when they were finished with their food as well. I didn't expect to run into them again the next day. How ironic is that? People tend to recognize decent people that's all. I truly enjoyed my one slice. I ended up returning the next day as well. I was impressed with the quality of my pizza. Went here for a quick lunch. My wife had a slice of Combo and loved it with the fresh banana peppers. I had the pepperoni and sausage and thought it was the best slice I can ever remember. The cashier was a little more friendlier. I did ask for it to be cooked a little more, and they didn't. That's the only place we eat while we are at the casino. For casino food, this pizza was really good. It stayed open when everything was closed, which was a big plus and since they don't offer you any drinks in the Winstar casino, even water, you get pretty dehydrated pretty fast. This restaurant is inside Winstar casino. I would not recommend getting the single slices that are sitting out but if you order an entire pizza it tastes great. I wasn't going to write a review on this place so I didn't get any names or take any pics but once we got back to the room & tried the pizza I decided to get a pic of the pizza bc it was really good. While we were standing in line waiting to order my sister pointed out a large, long grayish haired man stretching the pizza dough. His hair was in a pony tail but it was still blowing everywhere. She asked me if I was sure I wanted to eat there bc she knew I'd be furious if there was hair in our pizza. Also, he wasn't even wearing gloves & he was sweating profusely. Ugh. It was about 15 til midnight on a Thursday night so our restaurant options were limited. Everything was closing. We took our chances. I told her... well after he's done w it, it's going into that hot, HOT oven so the germs should be killed & hopefully we won't get any hair. ‍ I was severely sleep deprived. A really nice brunette maybe in her mid 30's took our order. She was great. She gave him the ticket w the order & he looked so angry. Yikes. I'd hate to work w this man. As we moved through the line though an older and very sweet woman smiled at us, said hello & got our Caesar salad for us. She was wonderful. We checked out & waited for our pizza. When we left a young man let us out (bc by then they had locked the door) & he was very polite. The salad was a good size for $4ish. Caesar dressing was good. We ordered garlic sauce for our pizza & it was yummy. (Only 50¢) The young girl at the register wasn't friendly but she prob just inexperienced. The man needs to wear gloves & a hairnet. I don't need you to be happy but I do need you to be sanitary. That's why this review is 4 stars instead of 5. The rest of the staff was excellent. Well I happened upon this place after seeing how long the buffet line was. I was at Winstar for a show and this place was conveniently close by the event center. We needed a quick bite before the show and there wasn't a line here. The pizzas were already made and ready to go. My friend and I opted for a couple of slices. They warmed it up and by the time we got to the cashier, they were ready to go. The people working there were friendly and efficient in a no nonsense way that I appreciate. The slices were big and thin for about $3.50 each, depending on which kind you get. Perfect amount of toppings and easily foldable. They were quite greasy though and I had to dab some of it off with paper napkins. Other than that, a nice place for a quick, tasty bite. Well I decided on Saturday at Windstar to order 2 slices of pizza pepperoni and jalapeños. Yes it is over priced, but remember it's at WinStar. It was actually pretty good. Nice and cheesy and the sauce was par. Best for me was the crust very good. Definately worth it if staying over night to go get a pie and take it to your room, so you reheat and eat for snacks during down time. Suggest for 15 seconds. read more

Tonight we were at the Casino. We walked in about 9;30 to get a slice of pizza. The two guys up front were engaged talking , one of them was busy sweeping the floor right under the shelf where the pizza was, the other guy looked at us and held up one finger as if to say "one minute " so we waited, they continued to talk and walk past us several times 2 minutes went by and no one else acknowledged us or took our order, Finally my husband walked over to the girl at the register and said they are just standing around not taking our order. She looked at them and just shrugged her shoulders. We Walked out and as we got to the exit the guy that originally said one minute yelled to us "have a good night " - very rude and sarcastic. He definitely knew we were upset! Not a good experience at all. It was embarrassing to us and all the people that were still sitting and eating. Needless to say we won't be back. Awful experience. We didn't expect that much for $8, but got even less than expected. The pasta was mediocre. The pizza was covered in grease. The dining area was a filthy disaster. The staff couldn't be bothered to make eye contact, much less crack a brief smile. In case you don't know: This place is inside of WinStar. Right next to the IHOP Express. Just a few feet from the Global Events Center. Before or after a show, it can be a madhouse. However, it may be the place with the most readily available items within the casino. It is like many Italian express places outside of a casino. The kind that cook up quite a lot of pizzas of different types, and then heat the slices individually in the oven as they are ordered. They also compile pastas from a refrigerated buffet table if you order those as well. They have salads, and a beer cooler with a fair selection of beer, wine and juices. They serve sodas as well from a fountain. When they run out of staples, like pepperoni or cheese pizza, pandemonium ensues. If it is right after a show (like it was when I went) you are surround by more drunk people than 1AM at Serious Pizza in Deep Ellum. The seating area is not quite equipped for an influx, but there are many places just right outside this restaurant spot. Back to when they run out (as this is my 1 star subtraction): Even if you aren't getting something that ran out - you wait. Sometimes people are courteous and say "Go ahead," but when you are dealing with lots of drunk people it doesn't happen. And the staff doesn't really regulate this, so everyone is just lingering. Once I got my food (and beer!) I sat and enjoyed, and it was nice. I saw some people had ordered a whole pizza and seemed to enjoy it. The price points were pretty good, and the portions were great as well. All in all - If you are in a hurry, this is your place. Every time I have gone to Toby Keith's it has been a 30 to 45 minute wait, and if you are trying to make it to a show, or are leaving a show drunk, waiting might not be your jam. Club Matador is always a popping after party for a primo slice, a succulent salad or a pimpin pasta. Pair it with a beer for a happy new year. The only questions are: "Do you like beer, Senator? Its not the worst pizza I've ever had but certainly not the best, but it works to get a pizza craving out of the way. Doesn't take to long to get your food here either, it is a little pricey in my opinion, but its worth a try, if you at the casino with numbered amount of choices. I go to feed my face at matador's pizzeria! this place had the best pizza around! they serve you giant slices and it's only $4 per slice! they serve pastas and some sad looking salads, as well, but take my advice and stick to the pizza! Seeing about 6 or 7 pre-made pizzas that had been cooked who knows when, I figured I'd order something made fresh, so I ordered the calzone, but the guy behind the counter talked me out of it, saying it would be a 20-25 minute wait, and instead suggested the pepperoni or sausage pizza rolls with a side of caesar salad. This place was recently renovated and it looks great with shades of blue and everything updated. Pizza is made continuously throughout the day and they make the pasta dishes when you order them. Tea is always fresh and tastes great and the brownies are amazing. Well I'm sitting here waiting on an order with 2 other tables occupied and I was told it will take 20 minutes. So far my observation is that the place is dirty. I wiped down our table while we waited and I have not witnessed anyone venture in the eating area to clean a table. Once my name was called for the order they didn't have my husband's slices of pizza ready. They actually asked him what he ordered so they could reheat his pizza. My calzone was surprisingly fresh made and good but my husband chose the pizza and he said it was mediocre. The pizza was sitting out and didn't at all look appealing so I ordered the calzone. It took about 40 minutes just to get a calzone, for some reason they decided to bake those who had ordered one at the same time, didn't really seem efficient but what do I know about food service... ): They did seem to get busy as soon as we ordered, however it still is a bit annoying to wait that long. I had a great experience here. The line got a little backed up around 5 pm on a Saturday and the captain was very courteous and let people know it would be a few minutes. I ordered a slice to my liking and they delivered it to me at my table. It was piping hot and so delicious! I was pretty much in love with my slice. They offer green onions on pizza which is rare but I always look out for it and since they had it, it made my personal experience even better. I am so glad I chose to eat here over other places in the casino for a quick bite and to relax.
