We are staying overnight in a local campsite on our way cross-country and we're all incredibly hungry. We were seated immediately and served huge rolls that were crispy and flaky on the outside and light and airy inside. We ordered: Chicken Parmesan Spaghetti and meatballs Kids chicken tender (chicken Parmesan patty cut into strips) Kids ravioli It was all wonderful. The sauce was clearly homemade and had a TON of flavor. The tiramisu was homemade also and was delicious. Excellent service. We were In and out in less than an hour. This was a nice experience. We chose it specifically to try the Carbonara, which few places will attempt, and fewer still do well. (I know you have to add the egg yolk at the right time; too early or late is a mistake you can't fix.). It was excellent, smooth, rich, and creamy but not thick. Also had the Cannoli dessert. They use better quality chocolate than most for the drizzle, and whoever drizzled cared how it looked. I think there was a hint of some secret ingredient in the filling, but I'm sure that's a family secret, so even if I figure out what it is, I won't tell. Definitely will be back. read more

Fera's is YUMMY! Hubby & I usually pick up take out or stop in for some eggplant Parmesan & Veal Masala. Both are in.freak.in.credable!!! They make everything in house from scratch & the homemade rolls they bring to your table are soooooo good. One night hubby & I went temporarily carb insane & had a second basket. Oopses :)' They have 3 locations total. Each one ran by 3 Albanian brothers. I haven't been to the other locations, but their sons told us they lived in Italy b4 coming here. They are super nice people & I love supporting local family business's. When we first started going there the pasta seemed way too soft so I asked if they could make it "al dente" for me. I don't think the ladies there speak much English & didn't understand what I was talking about. That was possibly my fault as I had already drank most of the bottle of wine. Oopses. However, their sauces are so fantastic that I kept going back soft pasta or not. One night we were there & it was kinda slow & again, I asked one of the sons if they could make the pasta "el dente" for me. He totally understood what I was talking about & promised me next time I come in he will make the pasta "al dente" for me. Next time I came in, Mama Mia! The pasta was "al dente" Yay!!! I usually take half home but I was in "al dente" heaven & ate the whole thing. Oopses :)' I also LOVE the calamari & the antipasto salad. The Cesar salad topped with the anchovies ROCKS! Not too many people have the anchovies anymore & Hubby & I LOVE anchovies. We have tried all the veal dishes & they are all good but the Veal Masala is the BOMB! There must be some Albanian Unicorn dust that goes into that sauce bc it's magically delicious :).. The eggplant Parmesan is also a star here YUM! Super thin, fried, still crispy covered in a robust savory marinara & baked with Moz cheese on top WOZA! Most people screw it up royally, this place makes it just right. If you like eggplant Parmesan GET IT! :)... They will also let you substitute veal for chicken or vice versa. I subbed veal for the chicken & artichoke dish & it was super yummy too. I think that's my second fave dish. They also have Pizza, lasagna, ravioli all kinds of things I still haven't tried yet. I'm still eating my way thru the menu & now that I know they can make my noodles "al dente" instead of super soft, the possibilities seem endless. Our favorite Italian place within 60 miles. Pasta tastes fresh, house salad dressing is great, the rolls hot out of the oven. Typically have the sampler but tonight my wife had chicken parmigiana and I enjoyed the veal parmigiana. Highly recommend everyone come try the food. This place is excellent. It is Authentic Italian. The dishes are perfectly flavored and no frozen calamari. Sauces for the dishes are well spiced and not salty at all. 3 cons: would like to see vinegar and oil on the tables. Seating need to be replaced, my kids and I are so low from the table and I wish the bar section was a bit more inviting. My husband and I wanted an afternoon drink with a meal. Chili's and Applebee's was crowded came here but bar section seamed more like a storage room. But will certainly come here again. read more

This place is a joke for an Italian restaurant. The only thing good is the bread and everything is fast food which covers everything with cheese. The tomato sauce is very acidic which could come out of a can so it's not homemade. You can at least make homemade tomato sauce which shouldn't be hard for an Italian place. We didn't get dessert as we didn't want to spend more money on a place that is not worth it. The funny thing is that it's own by a real Italian family. read more

Very quaint place. Staff seems to be family and they are all very friendly. We started with the calamari...always our test. It had a light coating on it, and the marinara was really good. It did not have high acidity at all. Hubby had the spaghetti with meat sauce. Lots of meat, spaghetti was cooked well. I had the spinach ravioli. 3 giant raviolis stuffed with cheese. Disgusting italian food. They just dumped Prego italian sauce on everything. I guess people go there for the mass quantities and the bread.

Wish could give 0 stars. The food was nasty. My friend and I told the server it was nasty. We didn't even want a to go box. It was that gross. The sauce had a sour taste. We got charged $24 for a meal that we only took 1bite of. I've worked in the restaurant business and I would never charge a customer for food they didn't eat. The restaurant was dead when we entered. I guess they really needed our money. Note to self if a restaurant is dead during peak time don't eat there. Lesson learned. read more

Excellent!!!! I had the pizza: perfect thin crust. Hubby had a "pink" pasta linguine pasta dish w/ shrimp. Service was perfect. Family owned restaurant serving, cooking, doing it all. The place is nothing special but it is conveniently located off the highway for long drives. The shrimp and scallops is in a very bland cream sauce with the tiniest scallops i've ever seen. But the veal parmesan was good with decent marinara. The mozzarella sticks were served exploded missing cheese so that wasn't great either. Restaurant needs to be swept more floor was pretty dirty but the servers were friendly and quick. read more

I ordered the eggplant parmigian, the eggplant was rubbery and had no flavor to it. The spaghetti was dry had hardly any sauce on it at all. I ordered two fettuccine Alfredo as well both were dry and had no flavor. Rolls were dry and over cooked. I'm very disappointed in the food specially for the amount I paid for it. Locals give Fera's rave reviews, so after traveling through the area a number of times we gave it a try for an early dinner. We are not typically fans of Italian food, but this was a solid dinner and good service. Very quiet ambiance even for our being there early. We ordered wine with dinner and it was average--worked well with what we ordered. I had the Pasta Sampler plate, and each selection was good with a rich, flavorful sauce. What was most memorable was the bread. WOW! Fresh, homemade, and delicious. It is tempting to back just for the bread. Gainsville has limited choices, and this is a good dinner option. read more
