Terrible service and food after the first few days that it opened . I have visited 3 other times after their grand opening and let me tell you they are now doing an awful job ! My food was all cold, burgers were all dry and tasteless, my fries were some burnt and some uncooked! Customer service is the worst though ! I think I've been here 5 times since it opened, with really mixed results. Unfortunately, more negative than positive. I was there today about 11:45, and there was simply no one at the front counter. I waited about 3 minutes for someone to finally come out. She'd been putting together a large pickup order for a Delivery driver, it seems. Still, there's just no excuse for leaving the front counter completely unattended for that long a time without someone at least providing greeting/feedback to the customers waiting. I ordered a double today, and she asked if I wanted Cheese. When I asked how much that would add, she said $0.60. Okay, fine. When I looked at the total, it was a $1.20 for the cheese. She acted surprised that I didn't want two slices. Seriously?! I asked how much it cost; she said $0.60. Not $0.60 per slice. $0.60 to add cheese. Then charged me $1.20 to add cheese. So chalk up one strike for an empty front counter for 3+ minutes, then another for what we'll assume are *really* poor communication skills. I told her just to make it with no cheese, and she told me that she couldn't change the order at that point. I hadn't paid yet, but apparently once it's subtotaled, it takes a manager to change?! If that's the case, Whataburger needs to find a new Point-of-Sale system, because that's a ridiculously bad design. She couldn't even cancel the order and start over. Three-strikes; you're out. Only leaving a review because this is the second time this happens, Whataburger in Texas is amazing, taste, customer service and atmosphere is great and is the spot you want to be at for fast food, but it has not been a great experience while trying it in Georgia. Do not expect them to be in business in Dawsonville very long. Repeatedly my order at drive through six times, and they still messes it up. They asked me at the pick-up window if I wanted a root beer. Never mentioned root beer. I've tried the new Whataburger here in Buford Georgia. It's nothing like the one in Tallahassee Florida. That's where I use to stop when my girls went to FAMU for 4 years. Me and my wife went to the one in Buford when they first opened up. Terrible experience they tan out of most of the fixings for the burgers. So we didn't go back for a couple of weeks. Like many others, I had heard that Whataburger was really great. However, after three tries at this place, I am not a fan. The customer service is terrible - all the employees appear to be either not happy working there, or just don't care. The service is also very slow. Also, I don't think the burgers are that great, they are a bit dry and overcooked, and the fries appear to be McDonald's wannabes. Also, apparently, mustard is a standard condiment on their burgers but I don't like mustard on my burger, and would prefer to be asked what I want on the burger. If ordering through the app, you can customize your order, but the communication in the drive thru is lacking. The first time I went, we ordered from the app and I went inside to pick up our order. Per the app, it was ready; however, although I was greeted almost immediately, and received my drinks order fairly soon, I then stood waiting for quite awhile for the rest of my order. I was beginning to think I had been forgotten when an employee in the kitchen area held up a bag and started shouting, "whose order is this?" It was mine, and no telling how long it had been sitting there. The second time we again ordered from the app and I again went inside to pick up the order. However, this time, I was given drink cups, indicating I needed to get my own drinks from the soda machine. My grandson had wanted root beer but when I pressed the button for root beer, only clear liquid came out. I told the counter employee that the root beer was out but was told that there was no more, i.e., it would not be refilled. The attitude was like, oh well, too bad, and no offer for a free drink or anything. I had also ordered a chocolate shake but they were out of chocolate. It seems to me that if a place is going to be open 24/7, they should be stocked up 24/7. Just saying. Also, again, I had to wait a long time for the rest of my order and no one seemed to really care that it was taking awhile. So, I tried one more time, and decided to try the drive thru, thinking it might be faster. I was lucky, and there was a very short line, maybe only two or three cars in front of me. But, the person taking the order was difficult to understand as he spoke very fast in a clipped and abrupt manner. We waited a bit in the line after ordering but not too long and then it was our turn. I paid and we received our drinks right away, and then we sat, and sat, and sat. No one ever came back to the window, and at one point, I could see a manager type person talking to the employees as if they were having a meeting! Meanwhile, cars were backing up behind me and I continued to sit. I finally received my order from a slightly sullen employee with no apology whatsoever for the wait. In my opinion, Whataburger is whatadisappointment. I'm done with them - I will stick with Five Guys, where the burgers are 100% better and customer service is actually friendly and helpful.. read more

Not bad but not great either. I ordered a Whataburger with cheese meal and my wife ordered just a patty melt. Both were pretty good and delivered to our table promptly. The fries were hot and fresh and tasted good. Here's the rub. The employees we interacted with appeared bored to death and just going through the motions. Okay, we paid for food not to be spoiled by the help. But it was such a departure from Chick-Fil-A it was very noticeable. Also, charging 42 cents a pop for little packs of dipping sauces seemed out of line considering the price for a burger is near ten bucks. Come on! I tried them in Jacksonville and it was NOT good at all. I just tried the one in Monroe, GA and it's not any better. The fries were good. I got the bacon cheese burger and it was actually sweet tasting and dry. Not at all good. I would not recommend. My husbands burger was good, but still not worth the almost $30 for two blah meals. His drink was about out of syrup and undrinkable. Only the person who brought us our food was actually friendly. DO NOT waste your money. Wendy's has a dang better burger in my opinion. I really like Whataburger but I don't think I can continue coming back here. At first the long lines were understandable because of the demand. Now it is clear the place is just poorly run. We tried to use the app for pickup and had to go in 2 of the 3 times because nobody came out. One time they didn't even seem to know we had an order. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the people taking the orders but maybe the kitchen or runners are slow? Last time I was here I waited almost an hour and my food was lukewarm. They always take forever to take our order and give us our order. I don't understand because they always have a full staff. When I go through drive thru, all the employees are always goofing around and being loud. Makes sense on why they always take 30-40 minutes to just go through the line. This place is also unprofessional. Once I went to eat in the lobby and some lady that works there is just yelling at her coworkers. It's just unnecessary to be extremely loud. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, but instead they served me a burger with NO bacon or cheese, and they put tomatoes on it when I literally said NO GARDEN. So basically, I was served a super-greasy, mustard-drenched burger with nothing but tomatoes & patties. Disgusting.
