so I was down near Atlanta saturday afternoon to savor a bit of sweet and found myself in dire need of victuals later that evening. a quick search for biscuits yielded several chicken joints so I took the hint and did a quick visual of the surrounding area... odd sign on the right announcing "chicken" so I get parked and walk in to a fairly busy restaurant. after taking a minute to determine what sort of madness I've stumbled upon I settle on a chicken sandwich combo which adds fries and a 22 oz non-freestyle fountain beverage (so no mello peacho tonight-o) a few minutes later I'm picking up a sack of food and back on the road. a sugar-forward large orange soda is not what I need right now (ever?) so that is going to sit for a while; fries are a limp and require more attention than I can spare if I want to get home before the clocks get turned back; same for dealing with a three-finger sandwich, there's just a little too much going on here... two hours later I stopped for $2.46 unleaded at SC exit 21 and as the gas went in I took a minute to eat dinner and the only thing that changed was the temperature: fries were still limp but good enough with ketchup (BTW: love the dip-or-squeeze packets); fingers were still intact and crunchy and tasted more like chicken than old oil and the sauce seemed a nicely jacked up version of western dressing ( + thai sweet chili??) no complaints here, even the bun and greens held up well ;-) cold food is not an unusual situation for me and I'd say Raising Cane's is suitable to go food if you have a ways to go before you can get to it. my chicken finger sandwich held up well as I put some miles behind me maintaining most of the original aromas and flavors while cooling. the fries could use some help: thicker? fried-er? fresher? more waffley? or maybe the fries are generally good but I stopped on a bad fry-day? Our son has received a few award certificates from Canes and we love their chicken and sauce. They have a limited menu of items which makes the choices easier to decide but if you don't like fried chicken strips you may not enjoy Cane's as that's what their menu consist of. Even their sandwiches are fried chicken strips. So far the food we've had has been fresh and delicious. Their sauce is tangy and sweet, and I really like their krinkle fries which I am normally not a big fan of but theirs tastes great with a nice texture. We didn't eat inside so not sure about the atmosphere but service has been quick and efficient each time. read more

First time visit to Raising Cane's. The back story on this restaurant chain is interesting (Google it). The parking at this location can be a bit of a challenge. The staff was welcoming and our food was served very quickly. The meal was very tasty! And the bread is a highlight. The furnishings are very eclectic. This was our first time trying Raising Canes after hearing how good it was. I was expecting to be overwhelmed with the chicken and the sauce since that's what I keep hearing about. The sauce tastes just like Zax sauce but with a little more pepper. The fries were so salty I didn't like them and the chicken tenders were just ok. I did like the French bread. I first had Cane's chicken fingers last summer when I visited Louisiana and I have been looking forward to having them again! I must admit my favorite part of the meal is the hot buttered Texas toast that comes with it. Breading on the chicken fingers is not thick or hard, just enough for a light crunch and extra flavor. We came pretty soon after open time. Very quick service! This was our first time trying Raising Cane's food. Hubby had the box + I had the 3 piece tenders combo. The food was hot + fresh. The building is newly built + spotless. The chicken has an amazing crunch, no breading fell off at all. I am extremely picky about my chicken + my dipping sauce. This sauce is insane! Made in house- it's creamy, peppery + has such a well rounded finish to the taste. Was delicious with the bread, fries + chicken! And the bread! Omg soft, buttery, slightly sweet, with a garlic salty after taste. Yum! The fries are a wonderful salty crinkle. Smaller sizes with more crunch to them which I do prefer! This is one of the hardest reviews I've ever done. If I could give this a 4.5 I would because almost everything was perfect but not quite. Lemme explain. So I keep hearing people overhyping this place A LOT so I wanted in. My first chicken strip was pretty soggy but I still ate some of it anyway. My second strip was less soggy and my third and fourth stops were amazing. My family was WAY OVERHYPING THE 2 PIECE STRIPS and when I tried some canes sauce on my fries and chicken it tasted kinda similar to the Zaby's sauce but was still really good. While I was eating I was thinking about what this review would be like and was thinking what to say and the only way to describe it was, It was like the Zaby's sauce but for some reason when you dip it and eat it YOU JUST GET A HUGE DOPAMINE HIT. Let me first say we are not fast food eaters, but we have eaten at Raising Caines in Mobile AL and absolutely loved it. That visit is literally the only reason for trying this location. That being said, this visit was a disappointment. We arrived at 11:45 and the parking is non existent as we parked in the strip mall next door. I counted only 18 spaces. Inside the occupancy sticker, states 96 maximum, that will never happen in this parking lot, maybe 40 people. The line was chaotic, with no rhyme or reason for lines to tell you where to stand or clarity on which cashier was open. I ordered the 4 piece box lunch, and she had the 3 piece plate. We both came to the same conclusion. The chicken was not hot, no flavor and not crispy, but rather it sagged when you held up a finger sideways. If it were not for the dipping sauce, bread, and coleslaw, this would have been 1 star. The fries were the same, not hot, no flavor or any salt. The slice of toasted bread that came with each order was good. The coleslaw was also pretty good. We will typically give a place 2 or 3 chances if they do not meet an expectation on a first visit. This place does not have enough on the menu to bring us back any time soon. The other thing worth mentioning is that they seem to create their own chaos behind the register. People running into each other, maybe too many people in that small area? In front of the house, we watched a girl kind of stroll around people watching while tables needed to be cleaned off. We heard that there was a rival to Zaxby's in town. Therefore, when the opportunity arose to try it, we took it. First and foremost, this location was packed crowded with a long drive thru line, and an equally long line inside. That is a good and bad sign to me because on one hand, that could mean that the food is excellent, but in the other hand, there were so many people that seating could be difficult to find, and cleanliness could be neglected. Since we were over an hour away from home, we decided to dine in. My husband decided to stay in line while the children and I found seating. Our table was dirty and sticky, and there were crumbs in the seat. Therefore, I got some napkins, and cleaned off the table as best I could. My husband placed the order, and brought us our drinks. He said that he asked someone to come clean the table, but no one ever came. I didn't expect anyone to come because the restaurant was extremely busy. After about 15-20 minute wait, we received our food. We all ordered the 3 Chicken Finger Box Combo. That comes with fries and a drink. I had a Sweet Tea and Lemonade which was really tasty and refreshing! The chicken fingers were good, but I think I could make something close to it at home. The dipping sauce for chicken fingers resembles Zax Sauce from Zaxby's. Raising Cane's definitely uses the same base as Zaxby's. The crinkle cut, shoestring French fries were also good. The Texas Toast had sesame seeds in the crust which totally turned my daughter off. Overall, our experience was ok. Was Raising Cane's better than Zaxby's? I gave Raising Cane's a try after hearing from friends how I must do so. I can safely say, out of the major chicken fast food chains, Raising Cane's is probably better than Huey Magoo's, but that's it. The best place to park is probably right in front of the restaurant, if you're not getting drive-through. You can otherwise get stuck very easily. When you walk in, you'll notice that the restaurant is very small. There's only one cash register, and the line can be very long. Fortunately, the wait wasn't too bad. I ordered the box combo which includes 4 chicken tenders, fries, Texas Toast, slaw, one side of Cane's sauce, and a drink. At $10.99, it's roughly what you'd expect to pay these days. I paid $0.39 for an extra side of Cane's sauce. Yes, they're one of those greedy restaurants, like Zaxby's or Popeye's. It at least makes a bit more sense for Cane's to do this, since this sauce is made in-house [presumably]. The food was fine. I didn't find anything special about it. It's pretty hard to mess up chicken tenders. At the same time, I'd want these tendies to be special if they're going to run slightly on the expensive side. The biggest low-light of my experience was how difficult it was to find a clean table. Many places are still struggling with staffing, but this restaurant frankly could've spared somebody to quickly wipe down all empty tables. Alright, I tried Raising Cane's and it was fine. I think of it as better than Huey Magoo's, but behind Chickfila, Popeye's, Zaxby's, and Bojangles. read more

Was waiting for raising canes to come to GA. It's one of my favorites places to get tenders and yes I like their tenders better than zaxbys lol the only thing I'm not a fan of is the lack of sauces. I prefer bbq sauce and not a fan of their sauce they provide. Went during lunch on a Friday. Drive thru goes pretty fast. Another thing is the lemonade. I'm not a fan. Finally got to try this place while visiting my mom...and it will be the last. The food was decent, but nothing to rave about. Considering the menu is so small I thought the chicken was going to knock my socks off. While the chicken was tender and not dry the breading had absolutely no flavor. Basically you are just eating fried flavorless chicken. I guess that's why you have to order so much canes sauce to add flavor to the meal. The sauce was good, but tastes just like Zax sauce so yeah. But after they hired new people or whatever happened over the last six months, this establishment has seen a steep decline in every measurable aspect. Just now took 18 minutes for me to receive my food when there wasn't a line or anybody ordering food other than the drive-through. The people working are extremely slow and could care less about the speed or anything to do with his business and are clearly just there to collect a check. The first staff to work were great but man these new kids are slow. Now that we have opened the food.... Fries are soggy and undercooked and the chicken is dry...
