I ordered the lunch special with two tacos (pastor & chicken) and swapped the beans for rice. It was my first time trying pastor, and wow--I was genuinely impressed. The meat was tender, juicy, and packed with a smoky, slightly sweet, and savory flavor that really stood out. Definitely a 5/5 for the pastor taco. The chicken taco was decent--well-seasoned, mildly juicy, and satisfying, but not quite as bold or memorable. I'd give that one a 4/5. One thing I really appreciated: the meat didn't have that dry, overcooked texture you sometimes get at other taco spots. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. My partner ordered the carne asada plate (charbroiled fajita steak with pico de gallo, avocado, rice, and tortillas, with beans swapped for extra rice) $15.99. He said the steak was nicely charred, tender, and full of rich, savory flavor with just the right amount of seasoning. The plate was filling and well-balanced, and he gave it a solid 4/5. I love this place. I'm currently on the Atkins diet/keto and I am able to eat the large burrito with chicken, rice and cilantro, omitting the refried beans and rice, and skipping the shell, and able to stay in ketosis afterwards, the insides completely fill me up, which is incredible. They do not have their Carbs listed for what that filling is. I just know it doesn't knock me out of ketosis. They should really put up a sign out front that says our chicken is low-carb, friendly or something to the effect. I really appreciate this place. The friendly staff the comfortable booths. It's a bustling place. I know the tortillas are amazing for the burrito shell they are very large about 11 inches. I ate a little bit of the rice and beans a very small portion just to get a taste and they are also fabulous, I can't wait to when I get to the weight. I want going back in there and enjoying the rice and beans and the tortilla shell. I just wanna bring across that the chicken is just absolutely fabulous and I am including a picture here of what it looks like if you order it that way without the rice and beans. This spot was everything I hoped it would be. I added this stop to my bookmarks when I saw the high Yelp ratings. Yelp Community, you did not disappoint on this one! This is an easy to find spot in Buford. It's attached to a convenience store/gas station and laundromat. Every time I have been, parking has been full on the restaurant side, but I've been lucky parking at the laundromat on the other side of the store (hope that's ok - they usually have lots of spots). When I have visited (always on weekend mornings for breakfast), the small restaurant has always had lots of patrons, but we have been able to get a seat right away. Service is quick and super friendly. Scan a QR code for the menu or check out items posted above the counter. They seem to do a brisk take-out business, judging from the constant, fast-moving line at the counter. Every time I go, I get a breakfast platter with eggs and veggies with beans and rice. The tortillas are perfection. And the eggs with jalapenos and added spicy salsas wake me up and get me ready for the day. And I am never disappointed with refried and beans and rice. My wife and I are lucky we stumbled upon this place! We had originally planned going to Ricos World Kitchen but didn't want to wait for 2 hours to get in. Luckily Taco Jalisco was just down the street. This unassuming restaurant is a must try if you're in Buford/Mall of Georgia area, definitely some of the best Mexican food I've had in the Greater Atlanta Area. Taco Jalisco is about a 10 minute drive from Mall of Georgia. It's located in a shopping strip shared with a gas station and convenience store. Parking was easy and it's easy to find if you keep an eye out out for the Chevron. The interior has a pretty cute cowboy theme and bathrooms are very clean. Ambiance is very casual, definitely a place you can come on the fly. My only complaint about the interior is that it was very hot inside. The day that I went it was 80F outside and it felt like 90F+ inside. We got the CHICKEN QUESADILLA, CARNE ASADA TACO, CHICKEN TACO, CARNITAS TACO, and CHILE RELLENO TACO all for just under $21 before tip. The free chips and salsa appetizer tasted very fresh, the chips were crunchtastic. Out of all the items I tried, the chicken quesadilla is the number one item I recommend. The chicken was smoky and full of flavor and really played up well against the cheese. I recommend adding onions for the optimal food experience. I'd rank the tacos as follows, starting with my most recommended first: Carnitas, chicken, carne asada, chile relleno. All of the tacos come with onions, cilantro, lime, and salsa on the side. All tasted very fresh and well seasoned, I liked carnitas the most because the crunch really stood out to me. The chile relleno lost some points for me because I think the cheese is a bit overpowering. Overall this is a great spot and if you're in the area, I highly recommend paying a visit! read more

I come to this restaurant at least once a week with my granddaughters and we always order the regular nachos and substitute the regular shredded cheese with queso cheese. I usually pay around $40 for 4 people each time we come. I went to pay my bill, the waitress had the nerve to tell me $62 for 3 regular nachos and one bean and cheese burrito!!! She then stated that they charged me 4.99 extra for each nacho which is bullshit! Their 4.99 side of queso cheese will smother your nachos and you you would not be able to eat it because it would be so doggone soggy!!!!!
