OMG! Best chicken tenders and service ever! We were greeted at the counter and when the counter person heard it was our first time, she brought out a platter of samples of their chicken and pickles and chips. Not a fan of Raising Cane's so I was sceptical about Huey's but dang I was humbled. We picked up to go so no dine in experience but our experience with the staff was top notch. They were helpful and genuine. Very friendly. Ordered a plate of regular tenders, another with dry lemon pepper, and another with "sweet chili" type sauce. I forgot the actual name. The tender sizes weren't very consistent mainly with the regular tenders. You can see for yourself. But the quality and taste, OMGSH. Had my eyes wide open in surprise. Actual tenders and not just cut up chicken breast. Not dry, crispy, hot, SEASONED. My biggest annoyance with Raising Cane's is the fact that there's barely any seasoning on everything and the one sauce is lackingggg. The food here is a cut above Zaxby's. The tenders are a little larger and not as salty. The service was good as this is a fast casual and you basically serve yourself with drinks condiments etc. The restaurant is open and clean with high tops as well as regular tables. Even though I prefer the tenders from Canes, Hueys has more choices on the menu with salad and wrap offerings as well as a grilled chicken option which is fantastic . I basically like this place, but my experiences here have been mixed. A couple of visits have been great, but it's very inconsistent. Yesterday's visit was mediocre at best. The chicken was barely above room temperature and the first one I tried was rubbery. I had to ask for some fresh, hot tenders. The replacement tenders were scalding hot, and they looked like random scraps of chicken from the processing plant that were breaded and tossed into the fryer. The few times I've visited here I've always been extremely impressed. The inside is very clean, but I usually go through the "drive thru". It's important to know that they don't have a traditional drive thru more like a drive pick up area, so you have to order online which kind of sucks. The food itself is comparable to Zaxby's or Raising Cane's. I think it's just according to your preference. The fries are super great and I love that when you order them on the app you can specify the crispiness and seasoning level. The banana pudding was also pretty good. The service here is always great. This meat was so bland!! No seasoning at all!! That's strike number 2 with me! Now I have to get up and go get some salt just to season these tenders so they can have some taste. Waited forever for this place to have its GRAND OPENING, but the day has finally arrived!!! I practically turned into the parking lot on 2 wheels when I spotted the "Now Open" sign (which took me by surprise). When McDonald's opened for example, the wait was OVER 2 hours at times. Chick-Fil-A had people camping out 5 days before the opening. The wait time for my food today was less than 10 minutes, but would have been worth waiting far longer! Even the Mayor of Dacula and his Chief of Police were here. I ordered the Magoo's Sandwich on toast as recommended by an employee. It came with pickles, 3 tenders and Magoo sauce and it was absolutely delicious!!! Similar to ZAXBY'S, but better! I also had (for the first time ever) WATERMELON SWEET TEA! All of their "sweet" teas are not particularly sweet, but the watermelon seems to be the sweetest of the group. The seasoned fries were fantastic and I also appreciated how they give you a number and come find you at your table, whether it be inside or out on the covered patio. I saw a video on tiktok about this place and was craving raising cane's, which the tiktok compared huey's to, so i decided to give it a try! firstly, the inside is very clean, open, and organized and the line was very quick to get through. i got the 3 piece hand breaded tender meal with two extra magoo sauces and a hi-c and while i was ordering, i mentioned to the cashier that it was my first time there. i went to grab my drink and sat down at a table and she came over with a sample platter of their most popular foods to try! Outside has patio seating and inside has ample seating. The building is new so everything looks clean. The menu is akin to Zaxby's, Raising Cane's, Guthrie's, and other chicken spots. We ordered the meal for two which had 8 tenders, 2 sides which we chose fries and coleslaw,2 toasts, and 2 dips. Any additional sauces, saucing the wings, and drinks cost extra. The breading was light yet crispy. The seasoning tastes good. Customer service was great. Service time was fast despite the amount of people visiting. They offered a watermelon iced tea which I wasn't too crazy about but the Arnold Palmer was great. Overall my experience was great and I welcome this new business in the area. It has a lot of real fresh lettuce tomatoes inside of the wrap and it's very filling. I know it's a new store so I want to be patient, but I had also pre-ordered so I don't know what the extra wait was about. The fries were below average, the tenders tasted like homemade fried chicken if your mom skimped on the breading.
