This was horrible.... I used to love this Whataburger. But they have dropped off. I waited about 12 minutes for food this evening. I didn't feel like cooking so decided to stop up here. The burger was cold, and I heated it myself at home. The onion rings were also cold and I heated them myself. The jalapeño burger does not specify that it does not have cheese. We just stopped at this Whataburger on our 15+ hour road trip from Denver to New Braunfels and after being deprived of delicious Whataburger foods for several months we were EXTREMELY disappointed. Not only was the wait terrible, but they couldn't even get the simplest parts of our order correct. We got a chocolate instead of a vanilla malt and they left off the ONLY ingredient on a plain and dry Justaburger with cheese... The freaking CHEESE! If there was a way I could give 6 stars. I would. It's just that good, the fries are made to perfection and the burger is juicy. Perfect size, however if you have a small kid, or don't like huge amounts of food, I would recommend getting a JR burger. But, it is very tasty. This is one of my favorite burger places as well as breakfast stops. About a year and a half ago I found out this location was the best Whataburger in Amarillo by far. Many times I visited this location during breakfast service. There was a girl named Amy that worked there and seemed to keep everything running smoothly despite the large number of customers coming through the door. For over a year I never had a mistake on my order and the wait was never excessive. She also checked on the customers and asked how the food was-many knew her by name and often she would remember what they ordered. Recently she has not been in when I visited and now the difference is very apparent. The last 2 visits have been very long waits for the food. And they at first attempted to give me another person's order. No one asking customers if they need anything. It appears to be suddenly unorganized and without leadership. Sadly it now appears to be an average Whataburger at best. read more

First time at Whataburger so I got the double Whataburger with fries and sweet tea. Burger itself was pretty good, but in my opinion not close to the quality of in-n-out, which is still my fast food king. Fries were really good and sweet tea was nice. Been doing some travel work that requires us to have a 30ft trailer and with most places shutting down and/or just doing to-go/drive-thru because of everything else going on around us it's been kind of difficult to get food at times while being on the road. My boyfriend and I decided to take a chance and call Whataburger (3401 S Coulter St) to see if they could help us get some food. Haley answered the phone and was nothing short of polite, professional, and helpful. She helped us find a parking spot, took our order, and brought everything to us perfectly and with a smile. It was pretty good for fast food. I had the bbq chicken strip sandwich and liked it but the sweet tea isn't great. We really just went because there aren't any whataburgers in other states and it's a road trip so why not. If you're just passing thru it may be worth a stop. read more

Whataburger has great burgers and I love that I can have my onions grilled but this store is awful! This store does not even deserve 1 star. The last few times I have been here I have not gotten good food. I've had burned onion rings, bad sodas, and bad tomatoes. The most recent time I was here I waited over 20 minutes for my food and there was no one else ahead of me in line! Whoever asked me to wait when I was at the microphone to order forgot about me. I waited 10 minutes to have my order taken and then waited another 10 minutes at the window for my food to be ready. JUst visited this location, very rare to have a bad experience, in fact I cannot remember the last time I was completely disappointed at a what a burger. It seems crazy to think drive through could come cold but my burger was cold, My wife's requested mayo only on a chicken sandwich, needless to say something else served to her. The fries were soggy, the ice tea was weird tasting. Perhaps what was most disappointing was the attitude of the staff, the Peter seemed to be little interest in taking our order or making it right. So everyone knows whataburger is amazing! Especially late at night when ure drunk. I'm writing this to warn u of this particular whataburger on Coulter. Today I had to go back to this restaurant 3 times! That makes 4 visits in one day! I get home and my burger has NO MEAT. I go back and they take care of me right away as the manager was a sweetheart. So I check it in my car on the road thinking there wouldn't be another problem, we'll I have to turn around because now there is no cheese. They fix up a new fresh burger and she gives it to me the way I ordered but now there are no fries in the bag. Point of the story is, check your order before leaving. read more

I had gone late night /early morning after working all day. It was midweek so not busy. I ordered a Whatachicken meal. First of all sprite was all carbonation. The night manager and drive thru employee were talking while the chicken patty was cooking. The manager dropped her tongs on the floor, kept on talking, and when food was ready proceeded to take out my chicken patty with the same tongs she dropped on floor. The worse part was the drive through employee denying the action and even said, oh no sir she went and washed them off in the back.While I watched this all go down. As visitors to the Amarillo area, we were pleasantly surprised. The menu and prices are set up similar to McDonalds, but then food quality and service was 10 times better. Terrible service. When we first pulled up to drive thru, the lady, Mosha, tried to talk to us but the background noise inside was really loud, we couldnt understand each other. She got our order to the beat of her ability and we rolled up to the 2nd window and she stayed that her co workers were being loud so she confirmed our order. We paid and when she gave us our receipt it was totally different than what she confirmed. That and the fact that the workers there were being loud and unprofessional is ridiculous. We were barely able to hear her and it affected her being able to take our order. We are currently sitting in the drive through and we could see her doing something else completely (washing the trays). She didnt respond at all when I started the order was taken wrong, just took the receipt and closed the window. Mosha just came back and gave us the fixed order, but didnt refund us the difference. We had to sit in the drive through for a good minute before she came back. When we told her, she tried telling us a Whataburger, a simple Whataburger with no additional things on it, is the same price as a Patty Melt, a Patty Melt!!! We had to tell her that that is not true and had to convince her that there is a price difference. She then asked if we really wanted a refund cause she'd have to get a manager if we did, which of course we did. After about 10 minutes we got our refund. What was supposed to be a quick 10 minute detour ended up being a 40 minute detour because of the incompetency here. At no point did we speak to a manager or were given apologies about the confusion or anything, and it wasn't like we were being mean or rude. Would never go to this whataburger again, ever. Dang it, I hate saying bad things about companies but they do need more training. It shouldn't take 15 minutes to get breakfast. DO NOT EAT HERE! I waited in the drive-thru for an hour and when I finally made it to the window, I was ignored for another ten minutes. When I was finally spoken to, there was no apology for my wait, they were rude and they also had to re-ask for my order twice. I asked if they were short-handed or had a broken machine and they replied no, so I personally feel there was no excuse for the excessive wait and definitely not for the rudeness.
